Great review...always wanted to compare the Aliexpress Comply clones w authentic Complys I already own and use on my KZ-ZSTs and regard those highly. Nice to know these clones at a fraction of the original's cost perform equally as well. THAT is value! Nice job!
David Greenwood have you used the Kz foam tips on the ZST’s? Ive heard that they come off easily or stay in your ear when you pull the earphones out. Did this happen for you?
sorry only just saw this msg, they didnt come off quiet as easy as some people ive seen but yes they do get left in your ear sometimes, have not have that issue with aftermarket foam tips however.
So, red is the "fastest", blue the "slowest" and black is inbetween? Its kinda important since the main advantage of comply tips is the foam stays compressed much longer so you have ample time to insert them. Red Aliexpress foamies expand too fast, but i might have to order blue then. Lately theres also green, yellow and grey. Too many options!
Yeah lots of options. Would stay away from black. Since this video, Some of the cheaper black eartips I’ve tried, has a sticky texture and not as nice.
I would see how you go with the standard tips, because if they fit your ears then there is no need but if you are not getting a good seal then look into the foam tips, i think these from Aliexpress are pretty good for the money.
lol so you need to squash it before inserting and other videos show the same. i have used them for months without knowing this and found your video just be entering on UA-cam "aliexpress" and recognizing same item. you live and learn. nice
As long as you get a good seal in your ear, it doesn’t matter how you use them 😊👍🏼 do you like the aliexpress eartips? I think they are pretty good for a cheap product
Yes, they're good. When you buy elsewhere you pay extra for a brand name. Same product till it gets to the EU/USA stores multiplies its price. I prefer foam ones over silicone tips.
got the ali complies. theyre pretty good. not quite as sticky as shure originals but they fit well. unfortunately they have the same issue most do. too much foam overhanging the ear end. which blocks the sound. just forked out for some comply p series as theyll fit me better and may well solve that issue. 10x more expensive though 😖
that said ive just recently seen sony eartips selling for $60-90 a set. modern life 😆 the two major drawbacks. less highs with foam less bass and security with silicone. i used to buy shure olive foams (back before ultimate ears were sold to creative). strip the foam off and use a cut down silicone tip (just the tube with a small umbrella of silicone at the ear end) with the foam attached. this allowed the highs to travel unhindered into the ear canal with no foam getting in the way. and no sore ears from the silicone. you'd think theyd have sorted that issue by now.
Great vid. I've been using KZ ATRs for over a year now but been checking out your vids and now I'm waiting for ZS3 and ES4 and a set of comply tips. The stock silicone tips that came with the ATR have always been a bit uncomfortable, hopefully these foam tips will remedy that.
Hi I believe that they are all a similar size, there is a page you can check on the comply website. Think it’s linked under most my KZ reviews, you can search the model and find the correct size tip.
Yeah 400 for ZS3. Check out this page if your interested. www.complyfoam.com/products/t-400/# This is the actual comply website but if you scroll down to the green button “find your fit” you can search for brand and model and will help you choose a size Hope this helps
Do they just slide on and off the headphones? Am i correct that they have no rim, to pop into the little groove when you mount them? All my earbuds have like a recess, where the rubber tips pop into with a little rim of rubber they have. For the tip to stay on the earbuds. I supposed that this was the where to measure diameter. But it looks like they slide on with no rim to pop into a recess. So maybe i'm supposed to measure the bigger diameter of that rod that you slide the foam tips on to?
Yes there is no rim or groove. Just flat inside. There is a link under the video that should tell you the size you need. The size is for the Comply brand but a good reference
CallaghanReviews oh and a gearbest link too! I have gb points to spend juhuu hahahahaha. Fantastic. Again thanks a lot. I wont order until the 1st. So anyway i have some time to research. Is your gearbest product review up yet?
CallaghanReviews btw i havent looked yet. But i think the info on where to measure the earbud size might be semi hard to google. Just thinking you might wanna include that in the gearbest review :) for extra likes and shares hehe
No I didn’t end up doing a seperate review for the gearbest one but their actually my go to eartips atm. Only thing is if the foam ones wear out there is only one of each size. The half foam/ half silicon The actual bag of foam tips from gear best weren’t good
CallaghanReviews the bag they came in weren't good? I have tons of sennheiser bags from the earbuds ive bought through the years. Srock full of the sized tips i dont use. So i have like little pouches if thats the bag you mean. Normally gearbest send things in random little plastic see through bag. I dont mind. I know i want medium and the 200 model. Im buying meelectronics m6 pro earbuds next. Replacable wire...... gonna save me a lot in the long run haha. Sennheisers usually only last a year with me before wire develops a lose connection. Even thpugh im careful with them. I just use them a lot
Does foam tips make a good seal? I got my es4 and for some reason it falls off my ear no matter what size of tips I try. I tried changing from the stock stips to better silicone tips I have, all sizes but still keeps falling off my ear especially when I'm sweaty. That really frustrates me because in my zs3 I have no problem at all even with the stock tips and keep in place even with major movements of my head. I realized that maybe it's the shape of the earphones and the zs3 is more fitting and its wide nozzle what holds it in place. But that's a shame though because I like my es4 more so I'm looking if there are tips that can help hold it in my ears. The sound improvement is just a bonus.
It’s hard to say if the ZS3 is fine, but foam tips should definitely seal tighter because you squeeze them and then they expand once in your ear. Comply actually make an exercise foam ear tip. Maybe something like that would help you
@@callaghanreviews3338 Okay thanks! I just found out there are 3 types of foam tips, isolation, comfort and sports. Okay, I'll try this and hopefully will fit now so I can enjoy my iems. Thank you.
@@callaghanreviews3338 Thanks. I'm looking for a IEM around $30 which has a large, spacious soundstage, good imaging, clear sound quality, slightly boosted bass, and non fatiguing highs, are my best option? I want good treble and midrange, and I would prefer above neutral bass, but I don't want the bass to overpower the mids or highs and be BOOMY.
Hi, for that I would recommend my favourite KZ the ZS10, pretty much exactly what you have described if you can find in the price range, different prices on different sites.
Think all the KZ’s are the same. There is a link below to the Comply website where you can check eartip sizes for each model. That way you can always check each earbud. Hope that helps
@@callaghanreviews3338 thank you so much for your reply, I've checked the website but yes I couldn't find AS10 either. I guess I'll just try to buy some knock-off brand of comply and checked which size (T400 or T500) would fit on AS10.
Hi, if your spending that kind of money on earbuds, proper brand Comply foam tips might be better. I haven’t personally tried as my iem’s have been cheaper so far and didn’t want to spend the money for the tips. After further testing I would choose the red or blue of the cheaper ones. The Black seem a little to soft for me. I have tried two different ones and the Black were both a bit to soft. Hope this helps
There are definitely different quality and shapes out there from the ones I have tried but I haven’t personally tried the Comply Branded ones. I know some can be to soft or kind of sticky texture which was not nice to use. The ones in this video were one of my favourites but they do wear out.
Yeah definitely, great for all the KZ’s. there is a link under the video to double check sizes if your not sure, always good to just double check 👍🏼 it’s from the actual Comply brand but seems to have most earbuds and a good reference
It’s up to what you like really, but any better quality tips should help with improving the sound and fit. Foam seems to help with bass but silicone is more convenient to use and doesn’t wear out. There is a cool set through gear best that has both. Recommend it if your not sure. But I wouldn’t get the packs of foam tips from there. Which way were you thinking of going? Foam or silicone?
I don’t believe they have a water proof or sweat proof rating but they are all plastic and seem fairly sealed, I have used the ZS3 mainly for exercise with the Bluetooth attachment, gym and running and never had an issue at all.
