*Picked up another pair of KZ ears to try out, guys. This time it's the $24 ZS3s. Check out my take on em. AND...you should see what just came out!!* 😲
How do you know the audio differences are not attributed to the foam pieces? I have a pair of ZSR’s and saw an immediate improvement once I upgraded to the foam pieces. I also have the upgraded brown cable (with right angle plugs).
Sounded fine plugged into my iPhone. Plugged them into my Roland TD9 headphone jack - pure distortion! Really bad.

Man Rob I have to tell you something. I really have enjoyed my ZS6s, but now that I see the ZS10s I really wanna get a pair. The fact that the 10s have a similar style body as the ZSTs I really want to try them out. I loved the way the ZSTs fit in my ears. The ZS6s sound way better than the ZST but the fit for my ears is a little rough. My left ear would have some slight pain from the ears and with the ZSTs I never had that problem before. I'm definitely gonna get some ZS10s now. Keep up the good work!
Rob, You are Soo right! These ears a great!.. I decided to buy the ZS6's, BUT, before I could, after showing my sound guy at Church, he bought 2, then 6 pair, then, another 6 for our team. Mark is Awesome.. I do like the 6's but I had to get some foam tips so they fit better and didn't go so far into my ear. The squared off edges didn't really work for me.. Hence the tips.
NOW, I want the 10's! You're killing me! LOL. Hey man, just wanted to say thank you for all you do for me personally with lessons etc. Huge help!

Please review KZ ZAX. It has 8 drivers on each side (16 drivers) or KZ ASX. It has 10 drivers on each side (20 drivers)😀

Coming from the ZS3s, There is a defined difference in depth. I can hear this guys voice resonating off the snare. The cable makes a HUGE difference. ZS10s are INSANE.

where can I get that cable?
Are you using the normal silver wires or are you using the advanced silver wires? It looks like the advanced ones but I heard they don't fit very well with ZS3.
I'm a casual drummer that just plays small gigs at friends parties. I'm also a heck of an audiophile and basshead. Should I spend the extra on the silver cable? I'm on a tight budget after I blown my cash on a mid range price IEM with terrible hardware so I need to know if the silver cables are worth it enough to spend the money on.
do the soft silicone eartips fit more comfortable than the stock eartip?
In the case of the KZs, yea. Love their ears. Not a fan of the tips. The design is pretty uncomfortable

I have the 4-driver, 5-driver and duel. I upgraded the cables on all three. Same cable he upgrade to. BIG DIFFERENCE HERE TOO.
Bro, nice review..zs10 is good but they have another latest release, the as10. 5drivers per side still but this time it’s all BA drivers. Maybe you should have that too and maybe do a comparison review on both zs10 and as10.
A BUNCH of us worship drummers found these guys and I have been using zst and zst5. What they deliver for the money is incredible. We also also bought the braided cable and added comply memory foam tips. BAM!!? GREAT EARS.

Rob great review! I have the zs6, conquered most of trebele sibilince and harshness with Ostry-OS-200 or OS-300...these eartips have filters in them that help tame these issues. Also use the same upgraded cable with metal right and left connectors, and use EQu app for music listening, where at the 10k part of the eq curve I dip about 5db....making these zs6 sound outstanding! Diff over the ZS5 is the ZS6 are metal vs plastic enclosures and are vented....I read reviews the ZS10 are indeed sweet, AND...do not require upgrade cables because they come with better cables, still need foam eartips KZ eartips still not kosher....but do NOT get down the same level or impactful bass as ZS6's two dynamic drivers can offer. ZS10 use only 1 dynamic driver and 4 balanced armature drivers. I think....one of the BA drivers is assigned to part of the bass frequency....but just not enuff oooomph in the bass....with that said tuff call, but for now keeping my upgraded ZS6's...will wait another 6 months to reconsider the Zs10.
I purchased two sets of these kz zst's after you recommended them. There is like no bass in these ears? My wired iphone ears sound better? Any issues or reports of these not having any bass to them?
Hey man, because of your reviews I went and baught the kz zsn hybrids. I love em. I have never had in ears before. The first night I used them I loved them until my guitarists guitar started clipping in them. The sound booth was behind the crowd on the second floor and I had no way of communicating to them what I was experiencing. Is there anyway I can have more control of my mix without effecting anyone else from behind the kit? Love your stuff and workout vids. From ocean city MD!
I bought some KZs because of one of your videos. I absolutely love them and have turned others to buying them. I play at a big church in my area that have westone and shures. The KZs sound so much better. Thanks for the recommendation!!
i have KZ ZS3E limited edition its more acoustic but you still here decent bass its awesome the KZ ZST and KZ ES4 these are bass heavy iems but not muddy bass .
I have the ZS 6 and these are by far the best KZ. After having so much headphones like xiaomi hybrid pro, sony and sennheiser this guy impressed me. Of Course it´s still a cheap in ear but the best you can get from KZ for now. Try them Rob.
damn you Rob lol I have the ZST, and turned on a few of my friends to these. I then got the 4 driver KS6 and love those(I use these as my stage set). Then I saw they had a 3 driver KSR and waited 3 weeks for those, just got them and love those too. Now a 5 driver model. I cant I wont. I will try the cable though. You are spot on with tangling of the cable.
I have the *SAME* earphones and cables but the cable is so loose on the ZS3s! WTF!
I spent around $400 on custom fitted sound reducing in ears. I like them a lot, but I may need to try these as well. Thanks, Rob.
does anyone have trouble keeping the plugs stay on? it seems they slip out way too easily and Im scared of leasing an earphone.

Listening through my KZ ED16 also known as KZ ZS7. Most well reviewed I have read so far in headfi, the phonograph and audiobudget.
Though I will try the cable upgrade. Out of curiosity sake though this IEM of mine is already amazing. I ordered 3 because it's a discontinued model. And I am very happy I did. Imagine a world class $17 worth IEM.

ok so I FINALLY received my upgraded cable and WOW does it make a difference, I did an A/B comparison, now I'm trying to make myself wait for my next gig to try out the foam tips!
Nice! Yea, the foam tips will help with the isolation. And they won’t slip out.
What's the difference between these and the more expensive in ears? I have some Westone UM Pro 20 in ears which I bought for $400 AUD and they sound great, but I don't understand how you can get these for super cheap!
Neither do we. But here they are. In all fairness to the Westones, Alien Ears, UEs and all the other high end ears, the KZs are still no real sonic match for those. But this company is making ears for between $20-$70 that rival or crush a lot of ears in the $150-$200 range. Cats are switching to the from the Shure SE215s to the KZs and swearing that they’re better. Remember that a lot of these popular shelf brands are made in China with the same guts anyways. We pay a LOT just for the brand name.
I just got the ZST's last week and I like them over my MEE M6 Pro's, even with their stock wires. The only thing I don't like is both of their wires don't include shirt clips or wire clips to keep everything snug behind your head. But I'll take that con to get a much more quality sound for cheap.
I used the black tie that is on the cable when you open the package as the tie to keep it snug behind your head

I have zs10 and zst pro, I have used zst pro for a month, and zs10 for couple of days, and I think the zs10 miss some medium high sound after I change the cable,

I got the ZS3s with the upgrade cable based on your suggestion. My kit is all mic'd. Practicing and recording with these are great. Great full sound. Great isolation. Great cabling. Amazing price.
Next test, mixed with full band practice.

I noticed in your description you only have the new cable for the ZST3. Will the cable serve the same quality on the ZST?
I discovered that there are upgrade cables for certain specific models so there's actually a different cable for the ZST than this one. You'd have to order one up and try it.

You can give it a shot. The ZSTs out of the box sound a bit better than the the ZS3s...But to me, the 3s with the upgraded cable sound like a slightly better balanced mixed version of the ZSTs. So the only thing it might affect negatively are the highs. But it's a cheap cable, man. Experiment. Either way, you'll be happy with the 'no tangle' thing👌🏾

Currently using one as well, but I suggest for you to do tip rolling first, try the foam tips on your ZST broo.
Also, is there a model name of the upgraded cable?

Have you tried these with electronic drums? The low end of the my roland kit distorts cheaper head phones.

I use the ZST on my yamaha e kit with superior drummer 3 and i cant believe the sound. Absolutely no distortion just awesome kick sounds. The whole kit sounds great
