    I've loved sap gloves since the late 80's. Depending on the model they are easy to carry, stylish and a wonderful concealed weapon. You don't even have to wear them, just roll them up and swing away. Sound quality is much better my friend, you are truly coming into your own.

    Thanks for another great Weapons Wednesday!
    If you can add the poll link in the description, that would save people a step or two in voting in the polls.
    I think it's great that Texas is permissive towards so many of these weapons. I remember when Texas didn't allow people to carry swords in public. I didn't have any swords then, but I thought that disallowing them was a bit foolish. I haven't lived in Texas since 2001, so I'm not sure how everything is set up now. I was only in Houston for just over two years. If things had been a little different in one of my job searches, I might still live there today. I had one opportunity in eastern Texas that I really wanted. I think it might have been Longmont or maybe Lubbock. I had one chance down near Beaumont or maybe Orange. I had another a bit west of Houston. I guess any of them would have been okay, but I'm still thankful to be in Wyoming. Needless to say, Wyoming is already seeing a great deal of cold weather.
    If I understand correctly, the baton could be used for full-power thrusts. That's a big advantage in any situation. My problem with most batons is that a full-power thrust is going to collapse the baton. If the baton requires the track to be offset before a thrust will collapse the baton, that's a huge advantage.
    I would love to have seen some strikes of the sap against a heavy bag. I've wondered how that would look. I can move a heavy bag with a punch, and I'm guessing that a sap wouldn't move the bag that much. At the same time, the sap would generate a little more speed from the whipping action and transfer that energy just below the skin's surface more effectively.

      I have no experience with this baton, but I definitely want to try a spring loaded one.
      The Monadnock Autolock system makes it to where you can do a full power thrust without worrying about it closing on you. I know ASP has a button lock system but I've never used it. In a few of the Defensive Tactics classes I've taken they teach a 2 hand thrust. Left hand grabbing the ball/impact point to try and keep the baton open and rigid.

    • @Karatemart
      @Karatemart  6 місяців тому +1

      Link in the description is really good feedback, thanks!!! As far as the baton, if you stabbed it into the ground full force it would collapse, but it locks pretty tight so I think it would hold up to a person. The good thing about the spring loaded ones is that even if they do collapse, they stay extended so you can still swing it ;)

    When were brass knuckles used in The Godfather? Watch Mullohand Falls for a great movie using a Slap Jack. Like in that movie, it's origin was more of a concealed night stick alternative for plain clothes Cops. IMHO, the Slap Jack is one of the most proven, underrated and practical weapons on the list.

    I do not know which one I liked better. They are all great. As for the glasses. I did have a problem with them at first, but more along the lines of the very colorful ones. The ones in this video, in my opinion, are fine. I think your videos are great. Keep up the good work. I am very picky and very honest, so if I'm saying your videos thus far are good then You're definitely doing something right. Keep up the good work. One thing I suggest is actually using the items on some wood, rubber, and metal items that way we can see how well they hold up, and the damage they can truly do. This brings out a wow factor to see what we are truly buying and what amounts of durability they hold.

    All of them are nice. The baton has good reach, but it's also comparatively bulky and won't be easy to carry around concealed unless you're walking around in a heavy coat or something(which you rarely do where I live in Texas). I'm also not a frequent glove wearer, even in winter, so that rules them out too. But both the knucks and the slapjack are easy to conceal in a pocket, even just wearing cargo shorts and a t-shirt which makes them a good daily carry option.
