I signed up on the rideshareguyDOTcom site like you said and then I downloaded the app.
I have never taken an uber or lyft but will take one 2 times this Saturday. Home to Airport(San Diego) and then Airport to Hotel(Las Vegas). I live only 2 miles away from the airport in San Diego which will be my first ride. But my Las Vegas ride(second uber ride) is a 12 mile trip. Can I get the second(longer) ride free instead of the first shorter ride? OR can it only be the first ride free?

New to uber, attempted to put in your code for the first free ride and did not allow it. It said that a code has already been added, it seems that when I originally sign up I put another code that gives me a $5 credit. Naturally I would prefer to use your code with the first free ride. Great video! On iOS, I can't get the drivers to show up on the map when I move the pin. Only after I enter a destination as well do they appear.

I have the Uber Eats app on my phone. When I try to sign up for Uber Rides, it says that e-mail and mobile phone is already in use. I thought they were separate apps.

What if you're with a friend and you want the driver two make two stops? Let's say you're coming back from an event and you want the driver to drop off your friend at their house first and then drop you off.

I'm in Oman (Middle East). They don't have Uber in here, but I downloaded the app on my phone. However, it does not seem to work: I don't get these pins on the map and neither the 'Where To?' tab. I need to book a ride in Europe for my upcoming summer holidays, but it doesn't seem to work in terms of booking anything.
It only gives me the options of Payment, Help, Free Rides, etc.
Will I have access to it once I'm in Europe?

Ana Maria I'm sure it will work once you're in Europe. It may not work in Oman because your Internet Service Provider blocked it.

Download the app and set up your account first. As far as I know, it should let you Uber from anywhere as long as you're in the system.

can not agree with you. Passengers should never use the pin drop. Especially if they are at any storefront, strip mall, mall or a high concentration of clubs and bars. they should always type in the name of the place that they're at so then the driver knows not only the address but also the name of the place that we are picking them up. if they only drop the pin the business names is not given.
As an Uber driver, I could not agree more!
That is unrealistic. Riders can't always type in the names of businesses--many are long and misspellings would be rampant. Not having to type (or even know) the name of one's location (or where they want to get to) is part of the beauty of the GPS system. So--numbers only, please.
I probably wasn't paying attention well in this video but if you don't mind me asking, does Uber charge me as soon as I press "Request" or does it charge me as soon as I get to my destination?
Typically you won't be charged until after the ride is completed. However, if you cancel after putting in the request, or you aren't ready to leave when the driver arrives, or you drop the pickup pin in the wrong place, etc., you might get charged a cancellation fee.

I have this new app and now I have to travel to the county line to see what activity is going on in the city where I drive. The old app let me check any city I wished to look at.I can't even move the pin to a new start place since the pin only appears when I hit the county line.I used to be able to sit home until the other drivers thinned out, now I have to take my chances.
andyattitude2000 , twice now on the driver app I have not been allowed to login because I was not in my "registered city", even though support has stated can "drive in any city in the state" California.

I can move the pin around but the drivers that were visible can't be seen once I start moving the pin.

Hey I have question: can I call an Uber for someone else? My father is not up-to-date with technology so I downloaded the Uber app and currently he works the night shift and so do i and I have nobody to pick him up because he doesn't drive so I was wondering am I able to call in a Uber to go pick him up and take him to work and with that Uber also be able to pick him up from work and take him home if I pay for the ride
Yup definitely, just make sure to coordinate the exact pick up point with your dad/the driver :)

It's risky, however, for drivers to take passengers who have someone else hail the ride. The account owner can easily claim that they did not get the ride and their GPS history will show that they were not in the car.
There is no "Where to?" option for me in my MetroPCS phone. It's so weird, the app was completely different yesterday, and now I can't even use the damn thing. I need to get to work at 5AM tomorrow, and I'm scared shitless that I won't be able to get there with my Uber app in disarray.

Depends on where you live, but probably yes. Lots of folks work the morning commuting hours. You can always log into the passenger app and see the closest drivers.

Make sure your app is updated. Unfortunately, scheduled pickups aren't available in all areas. You may be too far away from the local hotspots, in which case the app wouldn't show you the scheduling option.

Uber does upfront pricing now, so the price you see will be the price you pay, unless you change the destination or add additional stops mid-trip

The estimate they give you is usually what you pay with very few exceptions. Mileage and time is considered.. however even if your driver drives you around in circles it is not going to add much of anything to your cost or his income. It is not like a taxi in that way, so it does the Uber drivers no good to take you the longer route. In general Uber tells to driver which route to take and the drivers will almost always take that, if they should choose a different route they have to explain them self if they should receive an email about it. Unlike a taxi GPS knows exactly how you went and where you were and who is in the car.
Question though what if you need a car seat for kids?
As a driver, you don't have to carry car seats for children. Parents of small children should bring car seats with them. Also, you could be liable if they carry their child without a car seat and you get pulled over by a police officer.

When I use uber, it just gives me 3 options for a ride: popular, extra seats, and more. I noticed in your video there were more options like economy. Why isn't that showing up for me or is it just because of the limited drivers around my area?
Your area may be using the older app still but it's the same idea :) Most people use UberX.
Its been 4 weeks since i last received a payment from Uber. havent been receiving anything . and the app says something like "rollover adjustments"

As a passenger, you'll stay logged into the Uber app unless you choose to log out. In order to request rides as a passenger, you will need to be logged in.

Wrong. On the Motog 2nd gen running Android 6, no map appears under the "Where to?" icon. There is an option at the bottom that says "Select destination from map" but it does nothing. A second option says "Enter destination later". It too does nothing. A usless app, useless service.

Not through the Uber app - however, many drivers do accept tips via Square, Venmo, or Paypal. Don't be afraid to ask :)

Those little cars that represent the closest drivers are a total fantasy. Watch them drive the wrong way on a one-way, drive across lakes, or just disappear on an interstate highway. Once I realized that I no longer deal with a company with electronic shills.

No, the price is the same regardless. You will need to bring a car seat for the infant though, drivers do not provide this in a majority of states.

I don't know why Uber drivers require very high ratings. At least a 3.5 rating or higher should be good. If I were to use the Uber app, I would rarely give someone 5 stars. I would give them 4 stars. NOTE: I never used it. That's how I normally rate stuff.

No thanks .Legal taxis already have an app .You walk to the corner of almost any street and any downtown area and raise your hand ,,If Not most cities have taxi lines in certain areas at the airport and hotels They are already there waiting for you. Need to use application no need to be involved in insurance fraud or break any other laws like you are with Uber
