Not used much and one or two times after putting in my pick up information which was home it gave me it's own pick up location which forced me to walk to the location. What is that about?

Hi Mike - traveling to Disney in Orlando in a few weeks and I'll be using Uber for the first time to get from my hotel on Disney property to various places within Orlando. After I place my request through the app, how will I know which car is my Uber car?
Hi Aurora thanks for watching. You'll be able to identify your ride in a few ways. The Uber passenger app will give you the first name of your driver, the make/model/color of the vehicle, and the license plate number. Here's what I do when a vehicle arrives at my pick up spot:
- Look at the vehicle badge (make) on the front of the vehicle, confirm it's the correct make (i.e. Dodge, Toyota etc). Also look for the Uber logo (called trade dress) in the drivers windshield.
- Is this the correct vehicle color?
- Look at the driver, do they match the picture you have in the passenger app?
- If the make and color of the vehicle are correct I may also look at the back of the vehicle to confirm the model and/or license plate. A lot of the times the driver is looking for you too so they may park next to you, roll down the window and ask, "Are you waiting for an Uber for [Driver Name]?" or "Uber for Aurora?"

Hi Joonie, there is no option to pay during your ride as payment will be arranged before your ride begins via the app.

What if I’m getting off a train and need to get to the airport but not exactly sure when the train will get there so how long in advance do I need to schedule an Uber? & do u need a car seat if I have a toddler?
Hi Michelle, if your train will be arriving in a larger market that has plenty of Uber drivers I could wait to request your Uber until you have deboarded the train versus scheduling in advance since you're unsure of arrival times.
You will need a car seat if traveling with a toddler, some markets have Uber Car Seat for this purpose:

Hi. It'll be ny first time in Vietnam and from the forums, I've read that using Uber is my best option to go to my Hotel. I havent used Uber before and I have two concerns after watching this video. First, do I really have to buy Vietnam's local sim for me to book or I can book online sjnce wifi is free at the airport. Second, why is there no cash kn the payment method? Thanks in advance.

Mike, I'm new to Uber and always looking to UA-cam to explain the operation of something new. If I could offer any advise it would be to use some kind of pointer so everyone knows where and what you are selecting on the screen. Mentioning to choose the Uber X when you are looking at the entire screen really says nothing as well as let's take a look. Remember when you are too close to something you often simply think everyone knows what the Uber X is when you do not show again where the X is located.....relying on the explanation three (3) minutes before does not help. Also Let's Take a Look also says nothing unless you indicate how to talk a look by actually selecting the link location.
I know you think everyone will understand but a bit more pointing will help.

Hi Melissa, yes on UberPool you can have 2 total passengers (yourself and one other person). On UberX you're booking the entire car so you can bring 3 additional people (4 total).

Hi Tony, most airports will have a rideshare curb/pick up spot so check for that upon arrival or look online. If your airport supports rideshare pickups (not all do) then yes you can simply request an Uber ride after you're ready (retrieved any bags, deplaned etc). Note the app will direct you exactly where to go within the airport for your pick up.

So once you request the ride the payment comes right out of your credit card or debit card? Or do you have to wait until the end of the ride to pay the Uber driver?

Hi Red Jacket Jesse, thanks for watching! You can trust that rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are safe, they have both completed millions of rides and drivers must complete local, state and national background checks as well as DMV checks for the past 7 years.

Let say you have exactly 2 people. The capacity is 2 people for the car. How do you know the driver won’t pick up other people along the way? Is there option to select how many people for the ride?

The navigation app on Uber is the most annoying crap Ever becauase it gives wrong exact location and it freezes cant show which way to go when trip is been started.

I can't find any schedule in advance feature on my app. I can only schedule immediate service. I want to schedule a ride one week in advance.

Hi Emar, yes the Uber passenger app will display the upfront pricing for all ride options (UberX, Uber Pool, Uber Express Pool etc). And yes the promo code should still work!
I had scheduled a ride the night before and when the time came the driver never showed up. The money was never taken out nor did I get email detailing who the driver was going to be. I did get an Email said the order was made however.
Hi Takashi 125, when you schedule a ride in advance Uber will send out a ride request for you at this time. If the driver accepted and then cancelled the ride for some reason I would imagine Uber would send out another ride request but I am not sure. I recommend contacting Uber support for more detail on this. Thanks
So, I’m trying to gather why if I am in the NY metropolitan area that the option to select or choose a time / date in advance I am unable to do so.

Hi Raymond, I was able to confirm scheduled rides are available in the passenger app for metropolitan New York. I tested Times Square for example. Are you working with the most updated version of the Uber passenger app? When choosing your ride type (POOL, UberX etc) you should see a car with a clock icon over it in the bottom right side of the app. Hope this helps!
Your Driver Mike Initially, I thought this as well. However, as with most things these days its seemingly almost impossible to get a true grasp on what the most current or up to date info is...especially as this was my first / initial trip.
I will mention that while I saw the mention of the clock in other videos and threads even the ones via Ubers website I was unable to locate this. ( For unknown reasons🤷♂️) My app is up to date..as far as Im aware, and everything else seems to be in its proper place minus that one detail. A bit odd.
Overall, my experience was just fine..but I would have enjoyed setting that up last night versus an extra step this AM.

+kevindiaz1993 Hi Kevin thanks for watching! When requesting a ride UberX can accommodate up to four passengers. There is no additional charge for more than one passenger. If you're with your friend (same location) feel free to request your ride and simply enter the vehicle.

One day when requesting a ride the uber app said I had 3 drivers to choose from but only 1 person's picture and car info came up. The car was one of those VERY tiny models, can't believe it qualified for uberX. I had been grocery shopping and was afraid the car would be too small to hold everything. Is there a way to see what all 3 of the driver choices were and refuse this only one that showed up on the app?
Hi ReallyRedR, I'm not quite familiar with the situation you're describing. The app is giving you three options under one Uber type (i.e. UberX)?
It didn't enumerate the drivers in the area, just said there were 3 drivers in the area. BUT, here's a kind of extension of my original question. Had a horrible experience a few days ago... driver never showed, tried to contact her but she barely spoke or understood English, I had no way of knowing if/what she understood. Near as I could tell, she couldn't find me, although I was at the ONLY entrance to a Dollar Tree store. I waited and waited. Tried to explain to the driver where I was, but had no way of knowing if she understood what I said. All of this was wasting precious time. I was in a hurry, had to get home to meet my brother's paratransit ride dropoff (he can't be left alone). At one point, saw what I believed to be the driver's car PASSING the DT, but car never stopped. Had to start a new request. Couldn't believe it when that driver also could not find me, did not speak much english, and again I tried valiantly to get the info across. On second call, realized he wasn't even heading in the right direction and time was ticking. This was a major store on a main heavily trafficked street, not off on some po-dunk side street somewhere. By this time, I was in tears. While on my third phone call with the second driver, A fellow shopper, hearing my conversations and frustration, kindly offered to take me home. I told the driver I'd gotten another ride, and thanked him. Got home, and realized the very car which had been described as the second ride, appeared driving down my street and I later realized he had charged me as if he had driven me home. SO, I'd been charged by Uber for TWO rides, when I had actually had ZERO rides from an Uber driver.. I don't want to be forced to accept a ride from either of these two drivers again. How can I refuse a particular driver without cancelling (and being charged a cancellation fee), yet still get SOME driver to get me where I need to go? I'm extremely low income, disabled, and can't afford to keep getting charged for drivers when I can't even communicate with them. There HAS to be a way to ask for a different driver when communication is such a big issue.

Hi Jose thanks for watching! You cannot pay for your ride using cash. The Uber system is meant to be cashless so you will need a valid card on file (or PayPal, Apple Pay or Android Pay).
That's stupid why not have both which Is way more convenient sometimes I'm only gonna have cash on me or I'll only have money on my card

This also protects drivers. A person with only cash has not been verified or checked by Uber, and could be calling an Uber to hijackthem. Take a taxi if you want only cash, and don't ask stupid questions!

Hi Café Singularity, if your passenger app has the clock icon on the main screen you can preschedule a ride. As far as transporting materials I would not recommend asking your driver to transport materials as rideshare is solely meant for passenger transport.

Riders are getting hip to the upfront pricing with Uber. They're starting to get the pricing quote, take the destination off, then request a ride. They notice it's cheaper putting in the destination after they're driver has picked them up then it is with the original quote.

Hi Alfa, you can track the driver's location on route to you and will receive notification when your driver arrives for pick up as well. Before getting into the vehicle confirm the make and model of the car and matching license plate to ensure you are entering the correct Uber. This information will be located in the Uber passenger app.

HOW did you move the pin??
Hi Stuart, when opening the Uber passenger app you can move the pin around the map by pressing and dragging with your finger.
@@YourDriverMike I will need a ride to work next Monday because my vehicle is being serviced and new to Uber. I created an account however not having any success, that is can it only be done with a I-phone? I only have a flip phone and when signing back in, I keep coming on the same screen for signing up. It's going nowhere and seems very complicated. Does it just have a phone number to use to call a rider by any phone to get a ride or I will have no transportation to get to work Monday.
I used uber for the first time and the driver got lost, couldn't find me even though I was in the front entrance of a Wingstop.
Your driver should easily be able to find you using the Uber or Google navigation, that's an error on their end it sounds like.

Hello syafie, you cannot pay for your ride with cash in most U.S. markets. You can use a debit/credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, transit card (where applicable) or gift card.
Can you pay with cash for an Uber?
Hello ItsDestiny, generally you cannot pay for an Uber ride using cash. Select international and pilot markets in the U.S. allow cash payments but the Uber system is meant to be a cashless experience, payment is done through a debit/credit card attached to your passenger profile.
You may use cash to tip your driver should you like to do so.

Hi Worme0, no your driver cannot accept cash payments. You can tip your driver in cash should you choose to do so however.

+SG vlogs Hi SG vlogs thanks for watching! You can simply enter a ride request per usual for any valid pick up location. Then text your driver stating the ride will be for someone else. (I.e "Hello this is Mike, I requested an Uber ride. This ride will be for my friend Dave, just a heads up!). This will help with any confusion.
