Granted the event supports the fight of cancer, unfortunately she didn't take an appropriate approach with her story. she should have asked the person announcing the donations or ask someone on the couch with the runner if she can say what she feels the need to say that way it would have been respectful to the other people watching and to the runner himself.
The absolute worst part was when she asked him if he could stop playing so she could tell her story. I can't even fathom why she thought that was something appropriate to say.

i don't understand why they used to bring these "expert speedrunners" for a stream if they were going to try and break a record or something. when they usually do that at home alone and quiet. if you're on a stream for a fundraiser then your time doesn't matter, you put your skills on display but also can be a fun and chill time

I've actually experienced something similar in real life. I was at a funeral and we had the opportunity to stand up and speak about memories of the deceased. This one lady stood up and started talking about her son who had died. I thought to myself, "Lady, this isn't the time or place to talk about that".
