give me a break. i am a veteran. army boot camp learns the same things as marine boot camp. marine boot camp is just more macho. army boot camp is co-ed
Prior to joining the Army in the 80's I heard Soldiers say the Army was going to shit. Then I heard it all throughout my career. I hate to say it but after 27+ years I find it kind of hard to believe...
@Wyatt Earp there has been a lot of former vets who have said they couldn't believe how low the standards have dropped even heard from a modern day vet complain about he feels surrounded by 12 year olds haven't been in the military so i can't say for sure though.
I feel as if i was one of the last soldiers to experience some bad ass basic training. Two cycles after i got to AIT privates showed up with stress cards. We laughed. Our drills flipped out and cut those things up...we laughed some more.
The military just ROBBED family of the confusion when they would visit their little Johnny, and while on post/base/station, would see random shit, like, E-1s marching backwards, or marching while flapping their wings and singing the Air Force song, or scrubbing the sidewalks with a toothbrush, or inventorying pebbles in the parking lot... C'mon, get with it!
As a former Britsh Royal Marines Commando, this is damn funny! I've worked with some US guys too in North Carolina. Loved it. You guys need to up PT though! 😁🇬🇧

I had a private complaining to me about another NCO yelling at her for being out of uniform... I tried to explain to her that she's joined the army and that people yell sometimes to get their point across. I asked her if she realized that she joined an organization charged with killing the enemies of the United States... I'm pretty sure she didn't understand anything I was saying to her.
"You know what Private? You can hug this fuckin' Earth! HALF RIGHT, FACE! FRONT LEANING REST POSITION, MOVE! You gon' be pushin' till I get fuckin tired!" -Every good Drill Sergeant.
As a modern day AIT Private myself, I can attest that this is entirely too accurate. I’ve learned to laugh at the situation by now, but it kills me deep down that the Army I joined is like this now...
This DI is way too nice. In my day it was "shut the hell up until I ask YOU a question". I served US Army from 1977-1981. By the way, AIT is your schooling, after basic training, not before. This looks like reception station aka "zero week".
Actually had a PFC who somehow made it through basic and AIT throw a hissy fit at my last duty station DURING A RUCK MARCH because, and I quote: "Why do they want me to be like everyone else!? It's not fair! *uglycries*" I had the pleasure of being respond for some pretty damn arrogant 18-19 year olds as well. Had one teenaged female tell me that she didn't acknowledge me as her team leader because she didn't think I was 'pretty enough for my rank'. No joke. My SFC didn't believe me, so I had him covertly listen in on one of our one on one monthly developmental counseling sessions. He bummed a cigarette from me (he didn't smoke) and took a smoke break outside before he called her in for some wall to wall counseling... We both retired the same year... I don't miss it, honestly.
I just got out of AIT. This was definitely not how it went. 😂 We got the dogshit smoked out of us the entire time. It’s because we had good drills though.
I’m currently in Ft Benning for OSUT training and with COVID everything been softened. I was expecting it to be a lot harder from what my dad told me when he was a drill. I love watching the videos man

I love your videos the most. I always think it’s disappointing how short they are, but they’re packed full of fun shit. So I guess quality over quantity is better
As a former DS. THIS IS FUNNY😁😂
As a drill. Did you ever and I mean ever come cross new piv like that?
The video is a parody. In AIT there are no DS; that's only for BCT and then there's always a handful and a few more DS watching you don't see over there or up there watching you fuck up or turn your head, female DS can be fierce too. This cluster fuck formation is for a great laugh. You don't raise your hand while in formation, it 's not school. Join and help create your own memorable stories, we all have them and some scars and ink to boot.
They are starting to put drill sergeants back at AIT.
They're getting them back but the dates kept getting pushed back.
king Rico technically you have just committed treason you just insulted a man who fights for our country you just insulted our country
The charge for Treason is death soooo if I were you I'd stop talking shit on the men who fought for our country
Did basic in Jackson myself. Definitely prayed to the half right gods regularly on the daily 😂
I joined in 1990 and retired in 2012, and could go on on about standards being lowered. I remember when hangers in your wall locker had to be 2 fingers apart starting with your class A, class b etc, daily room inspections, and the list goes on and on.
He killed me with that question " Drill sergeant what is reception".
This is honestly true haha. Besides in JROTC. People talk all the time in formation.
Too easy....half right! Always great vids, brings back memories. I remember my entire platoon got smoked, including me and to this day, I have no idea why.
Travis Honeycutt because you're hadn't been smoked enough yet. That's the only real reason they need.
I'll explain why in a second but for now, HALF RIGHT, FACE!!
Travis Honeycutt Smoking is not good for health, and make a person worn out real quick after just a session of PT or maybe he mean lack of stamina or something. That what someone said to me.
+flapjack889
Smoking is not good for health? I've got a cure for that. HALF-RIGHT!
Hell, we had a smoke session at midnight because the DS was bored once. We had another smoke session by a DS from another company because she thought one of our group had been running around their area during fire guard.
Its raining can we go inside. Guess in a combat situation we will just call a time out
My mom went to ft. Jackson. I still remember wearing that shirt when i was little. 'My mom wears combat boots in ft. Jackson'
Mine too
2:00 "IF IT AIN'T A RAININ, WE AIN'T A TRAININ, PRI'T!!"
Army def turned into a soup sandwich..
today's USMC boot camp is equal to 1980's army boot camp
theyre not that different. both train basic ground combat
Basic ground combat training for each service varies, because their overall missions are different.
give me a break. i am a veteran. army boot camp learns the same things as marine boot camp. marine boot camp is just more macho. army boot camp is co-ed
my recruiter promised me a job 3 hots and a cot thank you very much and of course college tuition money but that's it lol
It has been said since the ancient Greeks about the younger generation. Only that within the next twenty years they will be in charge of our nukes.
Running optional?!?!?! Neverrrrrr........😄👊
Of course its optional. Running away from the drill sergeant that wants to rip u a new one
But for real they're all soft nowadays including the drill sergeants not allowed to hurt anybody's feelings let's go back to the old days please
Soft Until they get shot at..they toughen up real fast when real bullets start flying at them
J Tread 1965 smoke break smoke um if you got um.30 sec. later, ok put um out let’s go. I didn’t smoke and thought it was funny.
ok boomer
ok bommer
It's sad that only marine drill sarnts teach right these days.
Proud to be part of the 118k subs
The funny thing is there is a Drill Sergeant Thomas at 120th, Fort Jackson!
As a former Britsh Royal Marines Commando, this is damn funny! I've worked with some US guys too in North Carolina. Loved it. You guys need to up PT though! 😁🇬🇧
Recruit: “What’s reception?”
Sarge: “Too easy-“
Sarge: *HALF RIGHT*
but sarge
Nope can't do "corrective action" as the officer said "it build distrust in our nco's and is too hard on the privates"
@@classmaster-gj1yt I remembered when the officer said that but only applies to when we didn't do anything to deserve it. So if we ask a legit question or just relaxing with nothing to do, they cant do anything BUT if you make a mistake or ask a dumb question, well.....
You comment gave me shivers
I absolutely love these videos!!!! Lol!!!!! I'm a retired Veteran and needed this in my life!! Keep the videos coming lol! Damn man!!! Tru Bill, Raw Steel! Lol!!!!!!
My friend is shipping out to Fort Jackson this Sunday 😂
I hope they're issuing cold weather gear like those waffle long johns or silky under shirts and pants. I see snow in Charleston SC so there must be some in Columbia/Lexington too. Good time for a 10k ruck march.
When he gets back tell me everything he says, and I’ll tell you how much of it is bullshit. Because everyone seems to exaggerate basic training
Clifton Williams Good luck to them!
Clifton Williams Tell him to say Hooah when a drill sergeant says, "Half right, face!" It may make things more fun.
Really whats his or her name
I had a private complaining to me about another NCO yelling at her for being out of uniform... I tried to explain to her that she's joined the army and that people yell sometimes to get their point across. I asked her if she realized that she joined an organization charged with killing the enemies of the United States... I'm pretty sure she didn't understand anything I was saying to her.
DS Backbone looking like he finna get in that ass lol #notificationsquad
I was just waiting for him to turn into backbone and cut away their bullshit with the knifehand.
Theses new breed of soldiers don’t know how much power was behind the knife hand lol
He about to turn on some Marvin Gaye and get in that ass
Swaggy Bill Fresh finna?
This made me cry I laughed so hard, thank you 😁💪♥️🇺🇸
His last line “I can’t wait to get the F-OUT! The Army went to SH*T!” Killed me 💀☠️💀☠️😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol why does the military remind me so much of High School football?
because most recruits were high school football players and just graduated. at least in the combat arms, cant speak for support.
Was that guy really vaping? Jesus Christ I'm done.
Louie Watson ooh alright makes sense now.
it's for his diabetes
@@BigDictator5335 Don't diabetes ban you from the military altogether?
@@danielwadford3699 probably
Ace Kiza I’m pretty sure he knows it’s a joke you idiot. He was just saying.
Drill Sarnt, i was promised a hug at sick call.....umm they said it would come from you...
The look in the D.S face, some one was to tell him that. HALF RIGHT!!!!!!!
edwin patterson "but, but, they said......" 😂😂 i would pay to see that exchange
hahaha. Well. Let me go head and them a refund. D.S. to piv, It bout to get hot!!! HALF Right!!!! huh.
"You know what Private? You can hug this fuckin' Earth! HALF RIGHT, FACE! FRONT LEANING REST POSITION, MOVE! You gon' be pushin' till I get fuckin tired!" -Every good Drill Sergeant.
Baddawg 313 I literally almost threw my phone!
"I can't wait to the f**k out, army went to sh*t" New Army mission statement for both UK and US armies :)
i love how depressed you look the whole time lol. so helpless against the wave a babies.
Need to whip them into shape and make men out of them!
Hahaha! This is so true! Glad I retired when I did! 😂
This drill sergeant would kill himself if he would hear they replaced the shark attack 😂
I love watching the videos man
Did you go through the shark attack?
1:33 "Its for my diabetes" OMFG LMAO
That is priceless, and that probably no a days isnt far off the truth. I am a gulf war vet I took basic at Ft Jackson back in December 1987. Good memories
Lmao he said I can't wait to get out 😂😂 😂
Also your a great guy and thanks for your service
The first “your” in that sentence is incorrect. The word “your” in that context is spelled “you’re”...
karson bollinger Stfu grammar nazi😂
karson bollinger - Too easy!! Half right!!!!!!
"How can I put my hands in my pockets when Im standing at parade rest?"
Wait a minute who took my time out card?
Can you tell me what time it is I dont have my phone.
Haha at reception there was a guy in the company I was in and he asked the drill sergeant if the shaving cream he transferred from the can to a travel bottle was considered contraband. The DS called the guy retarded and walked away haha
Tooo easy. Half right.
I am interested in seeing what Boot is like now. When I was in Navy RTC it was “Keep your mouth shut and obey orders” - PERIOD! There was never any Questions and Answers session.
🤣I've had a tough week in life, you just changed that
Wooo! Wooo! Lmfao! "I'm getting the f#&k outa here. ARMY went to sh!+!" 🤣 "Can I sleep in the women's dormitory, drill Sargent?"
Oh my God this is so true to life 💯
i guess things changed since my days at Ft Jackson tank hill.
riphaven Oh yeah I could buy you a round of drinks and talk about the 90s when I joined
i took basic oct. 85, AIT at gordon then benning for jump, class 25/86. then to Bragg. good times.
Thank you for, everythin you have done. Thank you.
Let’s get a ds backbone vs modern privates vid !!!!
Jennifer Taing agree
Jennifer Taing there is already
The struggle is real. Great video
"Do we get weekends off?"
LMFAO!!!!!
Love it brother 🇬🇧🇺🇸
It’s just Benning they said. It’ll be easy.
Scrappy Knux amen 🙏🏻
Yeah they clearly lied to us
Just looking at some of those tshirts, they are asking for it
Opening this video I had the captions on and it said "I'm really sorry Thomas" 🤣🤣
I never talked when I went to Boot Camp. I actually got voted quietest person in my whole division LOL I was told the best way to get through boot camp is just keep your mouth shut and do what you're told. Don't talk unless it's an emergency, such as you got sick or something or had to get to dental or medical or something.
We no shit had a guy like that in our platoon. Heard him say damn near everything in this video. His mouth got us “correctively trained,” more than half the rest of the platoon
Y'all should have beat his ass when y'all went to bed.pillow beat down.
I’m only 1 year into my contract and dealing with my “battle buddies” (more like blue falcons) makes me want to get out already
You need to transfer units ASAP. #betrayal
I can't wait to get out either....the Army has gone to shit!
When he mocks him, "when we gone eat?" The stupid look.😂
This is all too true! Vapes in formation (lose my cool) "it's raining can we go inside " true. It's definitely changed since I started...
