Biggest reason to get the S23 over last year's S22 is the battery. The improved chipset and battery life are a huge plus. I've just upgraded from an S8 and couldn't be happier.
I've actually heard about a lot of people buying the base S23 this year.. I've also noticed more people have been going for the Plus model and not ignoring it. The Ultra hands down sells the most but I would like to see the 2023 data when it comes out so I can determine for myself how good the sales for the S23 Series overall has been
I have been using the S23 just over a week now. This is my first flagship phone, before this i only used budgets and midrangers, my previous phone was Oppo A92. So far the S23 doesn't disappoint me. Eventhough it has smaller battery than Oppo A92 (3900mAh vs 5000mAh) it's able to last a whole day. Plus, i always wanted a capable compact phone
Yeah he didn't really talk about the best "features" of the phone which is a faster processor, more capable processor AND it uses less power and that's a pretty big deal for people on a phone for a few hours a day.
p.s. to everyone who asks why Samsung doesn't send me phones early or even answer my emails, this is why lol. I'd rather just buy the phones & be honest about them.
Hi Tech Daily, I actually both get sent phones from Samsung and buy a lot of Samsungs for myself. And even though I've made 2 super critical videos about their watches, they just keep on sending products. Great openess from Samsung ! 🤝
@@indritmata7636 A73 advantages: • Bigger screen (6.7") • Slightly better chip (sd778G) • More durable (plastic back) A54 is better in every other way.
I had the option to buy the s23+ and the ultra but I went for S23, The compact size, I loved it..I was waiting since the S10e as I bought the s10 plus. S23 is a huge upgrade, powerful cpu, amazing battery optimisation, 1750 peak brightness + 50mp expert raw mode puts many flagship smartphone cameras to shame. It's a phone for people who know what's up with new android features.
I have the S23 graphite color with 256GB, and I upgraded it from my old LG V60 and I can tell the big difference from the size of the S23 and my old LG V60, but the Samsung is been the best phone I had so far!
Nice! I’m glad you like it - I’m sure it was a huge upgrade, but I also sort of wish LG still made phones 😞 we need more competition, especially on the US
@TechDaily It was so hard for me to switch my old LG because I bought it new when it just came out, and it was such a superb device that offered amazing specs, and that seemed to be such an underrated beast that no one talked about. I definitely miss that headphone jack with the Quad DAC and the 2TB expandable storage, but it was fun while it lasted... Samsung definitely didn't disappoint me even though it is missing some of things from the LG V60, but it has been a far more superior device than I thought! I'm definitely keeping this phone until the S24 comes out to the market with new and promising design changes along with specs 🔥
I have the phone for about a month now.apart from the price(should be around 650 to 700)it's great so far, build quality, the simple and clean design, the compactness,no issues.performance is outstanding, cameras are great, battery awesome.received 3 updates till now made it even better.if someone is an average user and loves to have a very high end ,compact and beautiful device, this is the one right now.I'm really enjoying using this device.
Really love the battery life/usage on this thing, it's such a huge improvement from S21, really been happy with the chipset switch from Exynos to Snapdragon.
Coming from Samsung Note 10 Lite with Exynos SOC, and Samsung ditched it on the current line of flagship phones, this is a huge upgrade for me. I bought this phone at a discounted price like roughly 25% off from its original price because of their trade-in program which is still available as of this writing. This phone is my very first flagship phone, and it is lovely to use one hand and it lasts me the whole day or more than 8 hours of mixed usage despite the 3900 mAh battery. One point about the SOC is that it is an overclocked SD 8 Gen 2. I got the 256/8 variant by the way. Overall worth the money spent.
I am a big S series fan! I just upgraded from s7 to s23. What people don't realize is you can save battery by what you download to your phone and what you turn off when not in use. For instant: Turn off bluetooth and location when not in use. when I install a program I go into the setting and turn off the background data usage and battery usage. It runs smooth and I love it!
s23 is my second s series. I had s10e for a couple of month, but it must've been a faulty phone. It had constant lagging issue, camera malfunction and heating issue. a3 2017 which I still use is amazing though, apart from the fact it hasn't enough space for number of apps I use, and some apps don't even work on the phone anymore. Battery is still impressive, internet works fine, Google pay is slow but works - it's still great as a spare. And that's the main reason I've decided to give samsung another shot. I hope this phone is as good as people say.
I've hesitated to replace my Pixel 5 because new phones these days are too big. But when I learned the s23 was basically the same size as the Pixel 5 and has better hardware than the Pixel 7, I knew it would be the perfect phone for me. Thankfully with my phone provider's monthly payment plan options I won't have to pay full price for the phone.
I still have my Pixel 2 and love the size and back fingerprint scanner. I tried getting the Pixel 5, but could not find it in stock anywhere during the chip shortage. I heard rumors that the Pixel 8 was going to be small, but leaked specs show it not to be as small as expected. I decided to try the Galaxy 23 due to this, and hope the apps aren't a mess like they used to be 10 years ago.
im on same boat i have Pixel 5 and thinking to switch to S23 due superior display colours. Could you tell me please if the signal reception is better on S23 and is there something that you miss from Pixel 5 on the new phone thank you
My S23 (base version) just arrived a couple of days ago. This is my first flagship phone, so I had some wild expectations. For context, I'm coming from a Realme 8. In short, the S23 blew me away and exceeded all my expectations (I'd done a fair amount of research beforehand, so I wasn't completely a noob). First few things I noticed: - The snappiness of...everything. Anything you do on this phone feels instant, moving through settings, taking pictures, opening and closing apps. I'd never used 120hz displays before (max I used was 90hz), so it should be from that. But damn, to me, the 90hz - 120hz difference was MASSIVE, let alone a 60hz - 120hz leap - So many extra customization settings that I use on the daily. Display screen mode, 85% battery cap, the absolutely instant fingerprint sensor that's still fascinating to use a couple of days layer, more advanced edge panel, the modes and routines, and so many more - Optimized features that exist on other non-flagship phones that work so much better and are more crisp. The instant NFC recognition of my Yubikey, the perfect adaptive brightness option that actually works perfectly and I don't have to keep it on manual - The Samsung companion apps (camera assistant, one hand operation+) that add more usability and helpful elements for me. I messed with a setting in Developer Mode to shorten the opening/closing animations for apps and now everything is even faster The camera quality is also much better than on my Realme 8, but that was to be expected. The portrait mode astounds me, as I'd never had it on a phone before. To me, the S23 was well worth its money (around $660) This "review" is a bit skewed since this is my first flagship phone but damn. A flagship really is a flagship, I guess.
It's an extremely underrated phone. Typically everyone focuses on the Ultra models. I bought an S23 and checkmarks everything I want in a phone. Very snappy and does everything you mentioned to it's full expectations. I've gotten many compliments on the camera quality.
Hubby and I just upgraded to the S23 from the S10, specifically because we're going on a trip and wanted the better camera. In our case, the 23 is a huge upgrade. :)
Congrats! I have an s10 as well. Are there any features of the new phone that you live and or hate? I'm thinking about getting an s23 as well and would like to know your opinion. Thanks and have a fun trip!
I just bought this phone today. I am moving to this phone from my beloved LG that I have had for the last 6 years. It has been a great one!! The S23 is compact and comfortable for a small hand. I also like how straight forward design is and seems like the OS is easy to understand and learn. I don't mind the "lack of color" since I put a protective cover with a fun design anyway. Otterbox covers are awesome! I am looking forward to using this new phone that is not too complex to operate.
As much as I would have preferred to have held onto my 4 or 5 year old LG V30, I was down to a smidge of memory and needed to upgrade. My LG was a dependable workhorse that never let me down. I'm hoping the V23 I upgraded to this week performs as well for as many years. I still have a bit of a learning curve to tackle, but I'm overall pleased with my new phone.
I'm from South Korea and people in Korea usually buy flagship smartphones. We still have large volume of sales on S series. And iphone pro series.. We also have some demand in A series, but our main selling area is always on smartphones which cost over $700~800. I think people from other countries are not that sensitive to some features that non-flagship smartphones do not offer.,
I just purchased an S23 today (on a deep sale, cheaper than Pixel 7!) because I've had my eye on the S22 / S23 for a while. I was previously using the A52 4G as an Android companion to my iPhone so I preferred to stay with Samsung for a modest upgrade. It's nice to have double flagships again.
What is new is the Snapdragon for European user. The S23 will be in a few months around 700€ and it will be as always a killer proposition for someone liking "small" phones
Bought a used s10e in 2019. Best phone I ever had. Traded it in for s22 in 2022. I got 150 for my s10e, free upgrade to 256 GB and a pair of Galaxy buds for $30. I love the s22 and will use it for another year or two
Got my self the phantom black S23 after using the A50 for the past four years. I gotta say I do not regret switching to a smaller device and I enjoy using the S23 🙌
I bought the S23 today to replace my S10. Its a great phone that I know how to use, I know the menus and how to get out of the phone the parts that I want, so the upgrade is a natural progression and more of the same in a new device is what I am after. After all, if I wanted something different I would go for that. When it comes to phones I think they are much of a muchness, so I am sticking to something that I know will work for me.
You talk like youre 90 years old, learning a new phone is like a day, maybe two if you switch from android to ios and vice versa. They are all similar as hell anyway.
Received my S23 today ... needed support to config the SIM card but they were great to work with. Samsung is offering deals with trade in, so my cost is minimal. Will post further notes as necessary.
I'm currently watching this on the s23 itself. I just bought it yesterday. 🎉It's great! I've not had any hiccups in any game, it's smooth, it's fast, and it takes 6 hours to drain it down to 20% with heavy gaming. I downgraded from 6.6 inch display to this and I'm already used to it. 😊
I paid $600 3 years ago for my s20 Fe 5g and I sold it for $150 to a friend that really wanted it. I bought my s23 256 GB for 859 dollars I'm Happy with this phone.🙂
Yes. I bought the A54 yesterday. I got free galaxy buds 2 and traded in my old A52 5g . It cost 307 euro with the clear case. The S23 would have cost me 650 without the galaxy buds.
Bought one 7 months ago, easily the best phone I've bought in quite a while. While this is not a phone for everyone, I may have a soft spot for compact flagships. Fits just right in my hand and pockets, while having all the bells and whistles I need.
I picked up the ultra as it fixed the one issue I had with thiers and most android phones. Battery. A device with a battery life about equal too the 14 pro max but can do so much more and still have great cameras is what I'm looking for. The s pen is a bonus
Im currently rocking the s21 thinking about an s23. The S series is just better sized then the pixel 6-7 which are too big. I had a pixel 3 before my 21 that was fantastic ergonomically but now the main S and the basic iPhone are the only reasonable sized phones that also pack performance and features.
I had the fold 3 but it looked like it was going to split up the middle so I traded it in for an S22 and I really like it. But, to your point, if I was buying the phone, I'd wait for a sale on the A53 and pick that up. I've seen the A53 at Best Buy for $300. At that price, it's an easy choice.
@@RedMau5_97 Definitely, DEFINITELY better. It’s a newer phone, hence newer battery, and not to mention the highly efficient 8gen2 Snapdragon processor means at least full day battery with light usage.
i bought the s23 with 128gb in pblack at the last week of april for 770€ which is around 840$. the small form factor is very nice and the build quality is outstanding. it's far better that every Fan Edition or Galaxy A class with all it's plastics. yes, it's mby more than double the price of an Exynos driven a54 but the s23 is worth every single penny!! it's not just the snap 8 gen 2 processing power, it's far more the bluethooth and 5g/LTE performance which is not only faster but incredible energy efficient. if I'm coming home after a 12 hours working day mostly I've still 50 sometimes 60% battery left while i listened to online radio most of the day, using maps a couple times, shoot some pictures and watched a couple YT vids in 1080p at work. my other phones i had to charge twice every day but not the s23.
As a mobile gamer, I find this phone to be incredibly enticing, with its quite low price, sweet deals with carriers like T-Mobile, and exquisite performance, I might just pick it up!
@@kevinjaitejmontbose5377 I had an ancient a13 when I wrote this, and ever since I bought the phone a few months ago, the difference is night and day. The a13 had a 6'6 inch screen, yet the performance was lack luster. the s23 is more expensive, but the performance upgrade is well worth the loss in screen real estate, even when playing games.
IMO if you have a 2019 or older flagship Android phone, upgrading to one of the S23 phones is worth it. If it's newer, unless you got a good trade in deal, not really.
I'll add that the S23 series all have amazing battery life and they don't throttle down performance as much due to overheating like the S21s and S22s. That might be a factor in buying a S23.
I bought the Samsung S-23 because my Google Pixel 5A started locking up. I like the phone so far and it has a lot of useful features, very nice pictures, and is just the right size, not to big to put in a pocket. Whish the battery was bigger. The phone got a bit warm after an afternoon of driving in a rental car using Android Auto running Google Maps, and EM radio. The charging rate was great with my new MAOI charger. Disappointed a charge did not come with the phone.
I've always had the S series. I came from the S6 to the S20 5G. And it was indeed a massive upgrade. 120Hz (but not adaptive) and 5G (but not over all radio bands). But it had eSim, dualsim, memory card (I bought a 1TB one). Now I have had to replace the S20 because the display gave up and have decided on the A54. Why? Because in everyday life it no longer makes any difference whether I have an A54 or an S23. But I just needed the memory card expansion. So: apart from Samsung Dex and the lack of 4K 60fps support, the A54 can do everything about as well as an S23 - even if the performance is more on the S20 level. But that's totally fine: Games run smoothly in the highest resolution & the camera takes at least as good pictures as the S23 during the day. And otherwise the A54 has everything premium: 120Hz adaptive, full 5lG, memory card, eSim, OneUI, over 1000 nits in sunshine, screen recorder, NFC, full 5 years of support, Gorilla Glass on the front and back, etc. So why should I buy me an S23? I would only have to do without the memory card. In everyday life, the A54 is fast enough - there are enough comparisons here on UA-cam where you can see that. Whether I sometimes need 1/2 second more for loading is completely irrelevant. The only important thing is that it can do everything without jerking. Screw the benchmarks that don't reflect everyday life. Gone are the days of big leaps in every next generation and there has never been more premium from Samsung than the A54. I'm sure many see it the way I do. And that's the reason for Samsung's success with the A series.
I'm thinking the same: A54 does everything most users NEEDS. Reflecting on my daily use, I barely play any games. Pretty much just basic communication and occassional social media content. A54 is the most logical at the moment.
And furthermore s23 design looks similar with a54 or a14 anyway.. unlike s22 vs a53 design thats quite different. Who wanna keep playin heavy games like genshin impact often? Anyway phone games arent too good. S23 is just better for premium build, compact size with wireless charging and better cameras and processor. Thats it
@@jokast8861 The A54 in a lot of ways is similar to the S23 but obviously, the S23 will be better in almost every situation because it's a flagship and comes with a complete set that will allow the user to feel that kind of experience. I'm also considering the A54 since I'm planning on upgrading in the summer but I mostly want an S23 model so I can finally feel complete and have my very first flagship level phone.
I was in best buy and compared the A54 and S23 side by side the A54 looked like a fisher price toy phone. I really wanted to get the A54 to save some money but just couldn't do it. Thankfully, Tmo gave me $400 for my S10 so I got the S23. Only thing I miss is the gorgeous blue color and 1440p display. I wish Samsung would make better-looking phones. The S20-S23 have been just plain, bland colors with no flair to them.
Depends how much u willing to spend if u wanted a cheap but powerfully phone I would get the s23 it's going for 520 on Amazon if you like iphone go for that it will be a little more pricy the google pixle 8 is has the ios for android and it will last u a while because they will update that phone for 7 years not only that but it takes the best photos compared to iPhone and Samsung and it's cheaper than iphone
I’m planning on picking up an S23 later this year when the prices go down quite a bit. Last year I got the S22 plus, but was very disappointed with the battery life and overheating issues that I had to sell it and go back to my iPhone. The fact that many UA-camrs including you claim the battery life has significantly improved is very reassuring and giving me confidence in my decision to switch back again.
I'm waiting for prices to go down too 😭 do you know when it's gonna happen ? I heard they will go down maybe in December. Idk if I can wait that long tho
@@sofi1561 They may have some Christmas sales since they release the new ones in February. So either black Friday or Christmas or both. They may also choose not to lower prices until after release in February or March 2024 to get rid of inventory.
Could anyone tell me why my S23 SOT is 4-5 hours usually? I purchased my phone 3 weeks ago. Others say that their S23 has 6-8 hours SOT easily. Should I do something about it? And my phone seems to be real as well (in case anyone wondering if it's fake). Could someone help me, please?😢
I have changed my phone from iPhone SE to S23 and I love it so much. Its firmware is very stable and no lag now running under Snapdragon Gen2. Battery life also improved and really can last for whole day usage. The only shortcoming is the fingerprint sensor might not be sensitive if you put a screen protector on it.
I too am coming from an SE. Have never had an Android but thinking of getting the S23. I think that compared to an SE, the S23 will blow me out of the water lol! Thanks for your comment about the fingerprint being affected by screen protector. Good to know.
I bought the Samsung Galaxy A53. I wish I had waited for the A54 though. But for the S series, they are just to damn expensive. That is the issue. If they could lower the price, probably but till then, I will stick with the A series till I land myself in some filthy money. 😅
I recently bought the s23, this thing is amazing comparing to all the phones i had before (xiaomi 11). The battery is just amazing as well as the camera AND performance, overall recommend
I got one recently and realized it's almost impossible to use the fingerprint unlock feature if you have a screen protector on. This phone is so sleek I would not recommend using one without a case or protective screen. I miss the feature on the s9+ (below the camera)
In my country, South Africa, most people who can afford S23 will usually buy the apple alternative. Ask them why they think Apple is better, they won't answer. They buy apple because there is status attached to it. Every house has a Samsung device, but apple is expensive and therefore rare, so people feel special owning an apple phone.
I've always chosed vanilla s series (s8, s10, s20, s21, s22). The last one made me switch to bigger model (s22+). I was pretty happy with it, but few days ago I got s23 and, damn, I just like it. 😌

I recently got an Samsung A33 and its does what I need it do and can even do the occasional gaming session. Theres alot to love about these Samsung phones for only $350 CAD ($260 USD) .
Are you serious. If you had a phone before than you should have a charging brick and for some reason you don't you could easily get a one for cheap. I don't know why this argument keeps being brought up.
@Shadowzz. When I buy a product, I would like to have all my pieces there in the box. I spent good money on this phone, therefore i shouldn't have to go and buy a brick. Thar should be common sense from the manufacturer side. YES, all the pieces should be there. Periodt. In the event the manufacturer doesn't supply something, it should be highlighted in big bold words on the outside of the box.
I could careless about the apple fanboys, the s23+ is the best bang for buck phone you can buy in 2023. Customization/free apps/ and versatility could topple the counter part x10. The only reason you'd choose apple is because of the OS,even then, you can make the s23 look like a iphone because of the customization. Coming from a iPhone 13 Pro Plus this is a major upgrade, glad I switched sides.
I went from the 14 pro to the s23 loved it . A lot of the features I use are better on android and also they’re about the same size as the standard pro which is what I like .
hi ! did u see a lot of difference with the quality of pictures and video ? i’m on an 13promax and i really want to go back on an « small » phone and de S23 looks amazing but i’m scared to regretting because of the camera ! 🥹
Base Galaxy S always become the best selling in the S series lineup in the second half of the year though It doesn't make into the nest selling phones list but it definitely sells more than the ultra per month starting from around July to the end of the year which is why they released bora purple for the regular s22 exclusively last year
@@dortmundwizard4232Price has already dropped by roughly $200. I'm not sure if the price drops as much as s22 has. S22 had many negative user reviews and often things like that reflect in price change.
As an owner of a regular S21 which is not upgrading to the regular S23 here are the main reasons: 1. It looks 90% the same as the lesser A-series. You need to look close enough to notice the details. 2. Battery life. I know the S23 improved big time but my 4000mAh S21 never got great battery life. It still pales a bit compared to its bigger brothers 3. Lower base storage (128GB) compared to other series. 4. Lower case and accesories selection compared to the Plus and Ultra. There were a few cases I wanted for my phone but they were only available for the Ultra and Plus. I felt left out. The biggest PROs are. 1. Easy to handle and fits every jeans' pocket 2.Same CPU as its bigger brothers 3. Light 4. Probably the most compelling "compact" phone of the last 12 months Needless to say because of the CONS mentioned above I'm getting the S23 Ultra.
I picked up the plus variant as I wanted higher storage and higher capacity battery. It costed me a lot but I'll be using it for atleast 4 or 5 years so the price will be justified
I just bought an s21 fe (my first flagship) a couple of weeks ago, absolutely love the thing. It's fast and the screen is amazing. I don't understand why people don't buy the normal s phones.
Because the samsung midrange is great for the price also interms of features while iphone don't have entry and midrange devices if it does then people maybe buy their midrange rather than their flagships but the performance maybe will drop.
Love my S23! It's been an amazing phone for me. Everything has worked great! Had a Pixel 5 didn't like the pixel 7 for how much larger it was and wanted that compact phone still. Didn't like Samsung because they burned me in the past. But decided to give them a chance again. I don't regret it at all. My only complaint is I wish the charging speed was faster. But other than that. It's been a great phone!
Nice! I also have a pixel 5 and hesitant about another pixel as they are just too large. My pixel has just died though so need to get a new phone and looking at the s23. How's the camera vs the Pixel? That's my big consideration. Also I found in the past Samsungs just were slightly laggy after time, any of that? Thanks!
I'm only upgrading mine now because my s10+ is dying and I'd rather grab something new before it starts being a real pain to use, but I'm super excited to get my s23 in my hands :)
Good day and ty for ur video! I just wanted to exchange that i was the owner of a Samsung S10 E for 6 years and haooelt so! Not a scratch i was about going to change the batterry thow starting to lose energy fast! But being a new retire pokice officer i decided , after making an extensif research everywhere, Google, UA-cam etc... i finaly decided to stay in the S Serie but the brand new 1 Samsung S23 Ultra!! Omg what not only a incredible diffrence but what a machine! Plus i hv an hobby being a professional photographer for 25 years and fully equiped camera and all lenses, i decided to chalenge both! It was mind blowing before having to transport all my gear now i hv a great camera in the palm of my hand! Plus video so precise and so many qualities, even if S serie is not always at the top i think they made it right ! I give my S10E to an handicap person with still a flipp phone and bought my self a expensive gift that i am sure with the 4 years update waranty and 5 years security was worth the price! So i could go on and on and still learning the multitude of things to learn and play with i give a 4.8 on my phone! Thanks and hope you will do a nice test soon on the S23 Ultra! Frank
Because of the LACK of SD card support I ended up buying a new S20FE unlocked on Amazon for $450 for use with T-Mobile about 5mths ago. It's now running the latest Android 13 minus a few features the S23 has but am quite happy with the S20FE. In spite of the chipset difference the S20FE is very peppy and handles everything I can throw at it and is really not that much slower than the S23 when run side-by-side with a friends phone. I do not take many pictures so camera quality is a mute point for me and battery life is actually better on the S20FE as well. When you stack the two together $450 (even less today) vs. $1200+ the S20FE is PLENTY for almost everyone at a significant savings of CASH! The SD storage is MOST important for me as streaming music over cellular just KILLS a battery in no time with a weak cellular signal and streaming off an SD card consumes FAR LESS power and generates FAR less heat and can listen to music ALL day at work and still last almost 2days before charging! The S23 stands NO CHANCE here as WELL at over double the price! Unless your making PROFESSIONAL video do you really need cameras with such high specs?? With the lack of SD storage a 1TB S23 cost is absolutely RIDICULOUS! I love Samsung but NO longer have a desire for their "FLAGSHIP" models anymore at these prices! For video and music storage 512GB is NOT enough and this is where SD storage really shines!
The phone I want to buy, but I'm so tempted to wait for the Google pixel 8, since the rumors of 5.8 size... but it's such a struggle. But this phone itself is amazing, and it's honestly slept on dramatically, but I understand the price is the reason why people are leaning away.
Been rocking pixels since the P1. Finally gaveSamsunganother chance. Last Samsung phonewas the s3. This phone is much better than pixel phones on every level. And you can actually use it with no problem. Upgraded from the P5 and this is the jont. If you download Good lock and look at a lot of tips and tricks videos, you can literally set this s23 up to look and work just like a pixel. Everything from the settings menu layout and color customization on every single part of the phone. Bixby is not a feature that is used for me on this phone a lot. But you can set up things like answering a call with Bixby text which is very similar to call screening. You can also talk back and forth with the person before answering. And the phone is the exact same size as the P5 for a size reference. Also get the 256 gb because it has faster storage speeds. Swiftkey keyboard is also the best option and you canvl really customize it to whatever you need it to do. Just takes a lil getting use to. Pixel has probably lost me as a user. Their phones look almost childish (as far a the screen quality and brightness) and compared to these s23s. And you can fully customize it with good lock. This phone made me realize that Pixel has been slacking and giving us the bare minimum all these years. Eye hope this helps coming from an all pixel user. (House is filled with about 8 nest minis, google wifi and extender, pixelbook go 4k, google TV with chrome chromecast on all tvs) and switching over to the Samsung ecosystem might be my next option. They've been putting out quality for some time now!
@@HolidayInGuantanamo well here we are a month later. And the pixel experience is missed badly. The only thing the s23 has over the 7a is screen brightness... This s23 will be traded for the pixel 8 as soon as it's released. Sometimes the s23 randomly reboots while switching between apps. And it will reboot and then it needs to be restarted a few times before it starts working correctly. There really is no comparison. Pixel experience me over the Galaxy experience any day lol. Being a DJ/producer/Singer and not having now playing on my phone has been a horrible experience. Bixby call answer is nothing compared to Pixel call screening.. the pixel just does everything you need it to do without you even realizing it. You won't notice it until you don't have your pixel anymore.
@@HolidayInGuantanamoI ordered s23 about a week ago because the price dropped. I ditched pixel 7a few weeks ago after only using it for a month. seriously it was a nightmare phone beyond description. 5g connectivity felt more like 3g, internet got disconnected too often, and at very moments when I need it. And it was only one of the many issues it had. If your pixel 7a was like mine, cut the losses, there's no point in getting stressed over a shitty phone. Trade-in that damn phone and get s23 before it devalues in price.
i have a s21 and will be getting the s23+ in the mail tomorrow. my charging port wasn't working properly and i didnt want to rely solely on wireless charging. i enjoyed my s21 so much and didn't have plans on parting so soon.
Ive just upgraded my samsung a71 to an s23 just yesterday. Def not too happy about the screen size since i actually enjoy larger phones. Im already going to miss my a71s size😢😢 However i am IN LOVE with the refresh rate on the s23, so fast and smooth. Maybe im not used to it yet cause for me sometimes its a bit too responsive but ill get used to it over time. For now thats all i can really say! Ive only had it a day lol
Will be switching my A71 to a S23 as well after my LCD just suddenly pop up white lines until half of my screen are white lines, exactly after 3 years from purchase. Looking forward to go back to small phones. Big ones are killing my wrist 😅.
watching it on my s23 :D the best phone i have ever had and planning to use it till s26 i guess :) only thing i dont like about s23 is that the curved sides. it feels slippery when u hold it without a case
It's not going to be a best seller, but Samsung made the conscious decision to make the Ultra their real flagship. Now for the regular S23, it's for those upgrading from 3+ year old phones, want a compact phone with a high end camera system. Let's be serious, the A5x series cameras can't compete with the S23. Going from old S-series flagships to an A series is a camera downgrade.
You are correct, but the question remains, is the S23 worth the extra £500+ for those benefits? The primary camera on the A54 is good enough for the average user, IMHO.
@@andyH_England Here in the US, the S23 costs $350 more than an A54 right now. Actually, no, it costs $250 more since Samsung did a price discount on it that will not last for very long. The A54's starting price was $450 which is $50 less than the A53's starting price last year, and the S23 starts at $800. The cheapest you can get full price for it as I mentioned before without extra discounts is $700 since Samsung dropped the price slightly for it. The S23 + got dropped to $850, and the Ultra got dropped to $1,000. I think the Ultra should've initially had a price of $1,000 but that's just my opinion.
@@BlackhawkSC About the S23, a lot of people have been getting it but of course, the Ultra will be the best seller phone when talking about Samsung. I've also noticed a lot more people going for the Plus model this year too compared to last year. Another thing, I'm glad Samsung doesn't charge the prices they had in 2020 for the S20 models. I couldn't believe the starting price was $1,000 for a base S20 model.. Thank god Samsung started to charge $200 less when the S21's came for all of their S Series flagships.
My note 8 started to show its age with some apps telling me they werent being supported. I originally was really interested in the Asus Zenfone 10 for many reasons but main one being size. But ultimately got the s23 for its updates commitment, as i enjoy long term use of a phone
I had the option of going s23, but the boost store had sold out. And I needed a phone really badly, my s8 was giving me issues. The guy at the boost store suggested iPhone 11, since I’m not big on latest phone tech. I went iPhone 12 instead, to take advantage of 5g and cheaper. My mom on the other hand got the s23 from T-Mobile and that phone is the true upgrade I was looking for. I will ride the Apple train for awhile to switch things up. That s8 lasted me 6 years! S series is no joke.
Upgraded from my Pixel 6 Pro to the S23 Ultra. I love the Ultra so far. I did have a Note 10+ prior to getting the Pixel 6 so going back to a Note style Samsung has been awesome.
I'm gonna get this phone coming from a s20. I will be upgrading this summer. I think the biggest upgrades from the s22 is battery life and the prossessor inside.
I’ve been waiting patiently for Samsung or Google to release a phone with great battery life to switch to android. I’m going to trade in my iPhone 13 for this phone and probably won’t switch to Apple for a very long time.
You're actually being too harsh, Iphone updates are also usually not too much, but people still buy them, and also you can't recommend an A series phone even A54 to some one who needs a flagship phone, there is just a lot of difference
I am a Samsung phone user since I got my very 1st phone back in the day(Galaxy Mini) very very long time ago. I still remember the 1st curved screen phone the S7 Edge(I had it for 4 years) it was an inmpressive phone. Then i did a swap to the S10e from S7 Edge. It was good but the battery life on that phone was annoying. Then I took a brake from the Samsung phones and switched to Iphone 12... My first Apple phone ever. It was allright, but after 2 years of use, i switched back to Samsung, and ordered the S23. Such an amazing phone. 15/10 for me.
I've been using the s20fe and was planning on getting another 2 years out of it at the very least, but it's developed the green line of death so I'm looking to upgrade. I'm strongly considering the s23 as the ultra is waaaay too expensive and the s23 still has the top end chipset. For me it's between that and the pixel 7
I think the s23 and pixel 7 are completely different leagues of each other at least in price, power and battery efficiency. I heard the pixels tensor isn't quite on par with what qualcomm offer but the price is attractive so might be worth comparing specs of both before splashing. I personally went with the s23 256gb and am happy with it. my mate had the pixel 6 pro and just complained about it all the time but he does abuse his phones so.
@zytoses9223 Well I wanted to stay away from pixel because my buddy got the 6 pro and had nothing but software issues with it. It seems they fixed those problems since and the 7 doesn't have the same issues. But yes, the 7 and s23 are two very different phones. The processor on the s23 is definitely better than the 7, tho the 7 will still work fine for anyone that isn't running super demanding applications. Also the s23s screen is better all around as well as the camera system (imo) if it wasn't for the price difference, it would be a no-brainer which one to get
I have a pixel 7 and honestly, it's a nightmare... It's still super glitchy, freezes, camera lacks- big time. I'm watching this video bc I'm about to buy the 23.
@@erinschoenfeld2193 yeah I ended up getting the s23 after. Its actually really good. I can get a day and a half out of the battery if I really want to and it runs everything really well. Cameras on it are good too
I got Pixel 7a and I'm still on the fence. The fingerprint sensor is really flakey. Never had issues with S20 FE fingerprint. The fact that it only has 2x zoom is also a worry.
It's June 2024 I bought an S22 Ultra and have systematically broke the thing... it's just too big and I just wasn't meant to keep one... but I think this little bugger is gonna be good!
Just wait about 6 months - samsung phones depreciate horribly in price. Im still using a galaxy s20+ unlocked w/12gb ram and wont give it up! My wife had the same s20+ and got a s22+ and doesnt like it compared to the s20+. Shame on samsung for making a bulky "iphone-like" design with the flat edges. The s20 series was the peak of samsung.
Hy. I just bought 3 Samsung devices last month: A53, S22 and S23. I like all of them. Great software, solid buid, good cameras and easy to find accessories. Also, easy to sell when we'll want an upgrade.
I own the S23 with 512GB storage. And man oh man this thing is incredible! It is my first flagship since the S4. I had an A52s prior to this one and that phone was amazing for the price range. Capable of high performance and great camera capability. The reason why I got this one was because I wanted the 8 GEN 2 experience and the portability.
@@ayetadios6469 There is a massive performance difference between the 8 Gen 2 and 778G chips. All modern day flagship features are available on the S23. 4k video at 60fps, Full HD at 120fps. Gaming at max settings with no lag and my device doesn't heat up. The A52s was amazing, it is still as performant as a lot of mid rangers this year. Hell it is even faster than an IPhone 11 / 12 based on my personal tests as I have used all devices. Overall, the S23 is a great investment if you want the flagship experience. In my opinion, go for it.
I have had large phones for the past 4 years and i went with the s23 to try a smaller phone and i love it. Im a plastic injection machine tech and alway put a heavy duty case on my phones that make the phones even bigger. So crawling around with a huge phone in my pocket was getting old. The camera is great and the screen is awesome and its fast.
I am looking to replace my S10 and about sold on the S23+ but this video gives me cause to explore. Motorola Edge+ is an example. I like these type {candid} videos. Thanks for opening my eyes 😳😳
I think at this point it's not worth upgrading until your phone just stops working or slows drastically. Upgrading every 3-6 years is suffice for most people. I don't even see the point in creating new phones every year.
Biggest reason to get the S23 over last year's S22 is the battery. The improved chipset and battery life are a huge plus. I've just upgraded from an S8 and couldn't be happier.
The s8 was a great phone back in the day. The s23 is a big update for you!

Hey I'm using the V60 now! I'm debating on upgrading to the S23 this year maybe first price drop. Glad your liking it I'm sad I have to leave LG
I'm going to keep using my V60. It is getting the Android 13 update, now.
@TechnologyMan9575 My LG V60 from T-Mobile already got the Android 13 Update like 6 days ago! And that makes me really want to use the LG V60 again 😅
That also means a lot that the S7 lasted you until 2023...
Could you tell me please if the signal reception is better on S23 and is there something that you miss from Pixel 5 on the new phone thank you
@@46rrodriguez I'm definitely happy with my choice to switch.
@@Destiny87 thats good. Is the signal reception better. Do you not miss any feature from Pixel 5
@46rrodriguez if there's a difference I haven't noticed it. And there's equivalent features for all things I can think of.
First few things I noticed:
- The snappiness of...everything. Anything you do on this phone feels instant, moving through settings, taking pictures, opening and closing apps. I'd never used 120hz displays before (max I used was 90hz), so it should be from that. But damn, to me, the 90hz - 120hz difference was MASSIVE, let alone a 60hz - 120hz leap
- So many extra customization settings that I use on the daily. Display screen mode, 85% battery cap, the absolutely instant fingerprint sensor that's still fascinating to use a couple of days layer, more advanced edge panel, the modes and routines, and so many more
- Optimized features that exist on other non-flagship phones that work so much better and are more crisp. The instant NFC recognition of my Yubikey, the perfect adaptive brightness option that actually works perfectly and I don't have to keep it on manual
- The Samsung companion apps (camera assistant, one hand operation+) that add more usability and helpful elements for me. I messed with a setting in Developer Mode to shorten the opening/closing animations for apps and now everything is even faster
The camera quality is also much better than on my Realme 8, but that was to be expected. The portrait mode astounds me, as I'd never had it on a phone before. To me, the S23 was well worth its money (around $660)
This "review" is a bit skewed since this is my first flagship phone but damn.
S10 best overall phone ever still a beast of a phone
Me aswell I am looking at moving from my LG k51s to the s23 but I don't know if I should
I'm from South Korea and people in Korea usually buy flagship smartphones.

Upgraded from a 20 and have been impressed. Camera software is much improved.

Yes. I bought the A54 yesterday. I got free galaxy buds 2 and traded in my old A52 5g . It cost 307 euro with the clear case. The S23 would have cost me 650 without the galaxy buds.

How is the phone?
Snag that A54 that just came out this week. That’s even better 👀

i bought the s23 with 128gb in pblack at the last week of april for 770€ which is around 840$. the small form factor is very nice and the build quality is outstanding. it's far better that every Fan Edition or Galaxy A class with all it's plastics. yes, it's mby more than double the price of an Exynos driven a54 but the s23 is worth every single penny!! it's not just the snap 8 gen 2 processing power, it's far more the bluethooth and 5g/LTE performance which is not only faster but incredible energy efficient. if I'm coming home after a 12 hours working day mostly I've still 50 sometimes 60% battery left while i listened to online radio most of the day, using maps a couple times, shoot some pictures and watched a couple YT vids in 1080p at work. my other phones i had to charge twice every day but not the s23.

@@Moyaiville_Productions i see, same with my case! I still own A70 and consider the S23 over A54. What phone youre having now?
I was in best buy and compared the A54 and S23 side by side the A54 looked like a fisher price toy phone. I really wanted to get the A54 to save some money but just couldn't do it. Thankfully, Tmo gave me $400 for my S10 so I got the S23. Only thing I miss is the gorgeous blue color and 1440p display. I wish Samsung would make better-looking phones. The S20-S23 have been just plain, bland colors with no flair to them.
I used to have a Sony Xperia z3 compact and my last phone was Realme XT. Decided to change to the S23 and so far it doesn't disappoint.
Hey, I had that phone! What color? I had the yellow. Replaced it with the new Z flip.
Yeah I had z3 compact and loved it. But once the screen was cracked the phone was completely dead and there was no local repair joint for Sony phones.
which phone is best iPhone 15 , Google Pixel 8 or Samsung S23, in these which phone should I buy and I confused
@@Sulfen it's so sad , I'm tired of waiting
Wise move
I too am coming from an SE. Have never had an Android but thinking of getting the S23. I think that compared to an SE, the S23 will blow me out of the water lol! Thanks for your comment about the fingerprint being affected by screen protector. Good to know.
So I have the Samsung s10e. Do you feel it's worth upgrading to the s23?
I bought the Samsung Galaxy A53. I wish I had waited for the A54 though. But for the S series, they are just to damn expensive. That is the issue. If they could lower the price, probably but till then, I will stick with the A series till I land myself in some filthy money. 😅
Samsung needs another FE. They peaked with the S20 FE for real. Their A series is so good now though. Enjoy that A53, it’s a great phone 👍
A serie is a tremendous value as well
@@TechDaily it seems there is a S23 FE on the horizon
Same I also want a S series but it’s too damn expensive 😂 I just got a54 tho!
@TechDaily I'm hoping they continue going up with the S23 FE
I recently bought the s23, this thing is amazing comparing to all the phones i had before (xiaomi 11). The battery is just amazing as well as the camera AND performance, overall recommend
I got one recently and realized it's almost impossible to use the fingerprint unlock feature if you have a screen protector on. This phone is so sleek I would not recommend using one without a case or protective screen. I miss the feature on the s9+ (below the camera)
Have you increased the screen sensitivity? You normally need to do that with a protector.
I heard that after you put the screen protector on, you need to redo the fingerprint settings and it’ll make it work again.
Redo fingerprint after putting on screen printer and also increase screen sensitivity
I have a s20. Getting the s23 in a couple days. Did I make a good decision?
Coming from a pixel 5a, this s23 is a huge upgrade
I owned Samsung phones for many years...S4, S9, and now the S23. Have always been happy with them.
In my country, South Africa, most people who can afford S23 will usually buy the apple alternative. Ask them why they think Apple is better, they won't answer. They buy apple because there is status attached to it. Every house has a Samsung device, but apple is expensive and therefore rare, so people feel special owning an apple phone.
when I see someone with an apple device, I just think oh great what a doofus they bought an apple product
When I see an apple user, I see a wageslave throwing his month salary while he don't have any savings just to be cool, pretty pathetic tbh
I've always chosed vanilla s series (s8, s10, s20, s21, s22). The last one made me switch to bigger model (s22+). I was pretty happy with it, but few days ago I got s23 and, damn, I just like it. 😌
Will you be one of the nine people who buy an S23 this year? 😅

I recently got an Samsung A33 and its does what I need it do and can even do the occasional gaming session. Theres alot to love about these Samsung phones for only $350 CAD ($260 USD) .
I bought S20FE 5G in September 2022 for 300$ . Hoping that samsung provide regular updates for this, it's best for that price.
I love this phone but I hate it didn't come with a brick for to charge. That's stupid on the manufacture behalf.

I purchased an S10e and S10 Plus about 4 or 5 years ago. I recently got an S23 Plus and Ultra
Base Galaxy S always become the best selling in the S series lineup in the second half of the year though
It doesn't make into the nest selling phones list but it definitely sells more than the ultra per month starting from around July to the end of the year which is why they released bora purple for the regular s22 exclusively last year
Yes when the price drops down
@@dortmundwizard4232Price has already dropped by roughly $200. I'm not sure if the price drops as much as s22 has. S22 had many negative user reviews and often things like that reflect in price change.
As an owner of a regular S21 which is not upgrading to the regular S23 here are the main reasons:
1. It looks 90% the same as the lesser A-series. You need to look close enough to notice the details.
2. Battery life. I know the S23 improved big time but my 4000mAh S21 never got great battery life. It still pales a bit compared to its bigger brothers
3. Lower base storage (128GB) compared to other series.
4. Lower case and accesories selection compared to the Plus and Ultra. There were a few cases I wanted for my phone but they were only available for the Ultra and Plus. I felt left out.
The biggest PROs are.
1. Easy to handle and fits every jeans' pocket
2.Same CPU as its bigger brothers
3. Light
4. Probably the most compelling "compact" phone of the last 12 months
Needless to say because of the CONS mentioned above I'm getting the S23 Ultra.
I picked up the plus variant as I wanted higher storage and higher capacity battery. It costed me a lot but I'll be using it for atleast 4 or 5 years so the price will be justified
That's if your battery doesn't blow up, look it up
I bought the S23 ultra on launch from bestbuy with a trade in. Really like it besides the screen being curved a little bit. Missing the flat panel
I just bought an s21 fe (my first flagship) a couple of weeks ago, absolutely love the thing. It's fast and the screen is amazing. I don't understand why people don't buy the normal s phones.
The S21 FE is a heck of a phone for the $$$

Thanks!
Too small
I'm only upgrading mine now because my s10+ is dying and I'd rather grab something new before it starts being a real pain to use, but I'm super excited to get my s23 in my hands :)
My s10 is too😢
Good day and ty for ur video! Frank
Love my s23..coming from a pixel 6 pro. I'm glad I went back to a smaller screen
How you finding the battery on heavy usage camera etc?
@@mackmccord3743 I wish I saw this before getting the 7a. Very underwhelming. I'll give it a month before deciding if I should keep it.
@@andyH_England your probably right about that. Most people aren't too picky with their cell phone photos.

@@KoalaBeer. I got a s23 for a week now and with Twitter, UA-cam, Facebook and Instagram it easily lasts 7-8 hours sot!
Im also coming from a52s and planning to upgrade. Can you give more of your input on the performance difference?
@@ayetadios6469 There is a massive performance difference between the 8 Gen 2 and 778G chips. All modern day flagship features are available on the S23. 4k video at 60fps, Full HD at 120fps. Gaming at max settings with no lag and my device doesn't heat up. The A52s was amazing, it is still as performant as a lot of mid rangers this year. Hell it is even faster than an IPhone 11 / 12 based on my personal tests as I have used all devices.
Overall, the S23 is a great investment if you want the flagship experience. In my opinion, go for it.
Is this a good upgrade from a Note 9? I can't afford an ultra unfortunately.
