My old Mac and phone run on 60hz so I could care less about the higher refresh rate. I looked at the base and pro model iphones at best buy and definitely noticed the difference though. I'll take the higher resolution on the iphone 15 over S23 anyday even though I was always a fan of samsung phones. I have traded my 6 months old S23U for iPhone 15+. Android was complicated and far too many options which I don't want to learn or have no time to explore. Honestly S23U is a beast but I'm liking IPhone 15+ for its camera and simplicity. If you are not heavily invested in ios ( watch airpods or macbook) don't bother owning iPhone. Galaxy is very good. To me am already heavily invested and my friends circle is already using ios.
@@sunandks well said man, as u grow older, and become more busy, the iphone is just a better deal for us, its simplicity and functionality for day to day usage is just perfect, android has lots of whatnots whenever doing similar tasks compared to iphone, but u cant go wrong with both, i just love the camera quality on my iphone, i dont look dark, nor yellowish haha
@renierdale I really think both phones are very good in their own ways. But based on practicality, I am really liking the output of the iPhone 15 in its camera, especially due to its consistency with the photo and video quality it provides. It just makes life so much easier especially to those casual users that lack knowedge in advanced camera features that needs tweaking in Android like Samsung S23.
Sort of boggles my mind how in 2014 Apple decided to make their iPhones larger and as such to make them more comfortable, moved away from the sharp, square sides of the iPhone 5. Then they seem to have forgotten all about that with phones starting in 2020 and go back to sharp square sides. Glad they are finally moving to the curves again. Please don't return to squares! Some people like to go caseless and they just are not comfortable especially on bigger phones.

i have both and i have to be honest, if ur a social media guy who always uses instagram, tiktok, snapchat, facebook, youtube, etc, iphone 15 is really for you, the quality u get from the camera(inside the app), haptics, animations and seamless transitions from each app is just different as what i get on the s23, iphone is just good at software optimization and integration, but if ur into general performance, experience and technicality, id say the s23 is for you, s23 has loads of features u can use day to day, i love both of these phones, i just tend to use my iphone more than the s23 because it really retains my skin color well on every photo i take.. u cant go wrong with these phones, i just prefer the simplicity of the iphone, since im a busy guy now and i started to work, i find my iphone really suitable for me on my filmmaking works and music production. might give my s23 to my girlfriend cuz i dont really use it that much.
Great comparison, I'm a S23 user but I'm impressed with the details of the photos on the iPhone 15. I have to say though that many reviewers put emphasis on the software updates but not many mention that after the updates end android phones last much longer with app updates. After you download your last iOS update the phone or ipad quickly becomes obsolete, not receiving more updates on the apps and making you to upgrade.
@@blacbraun using that same logic, then it's irrelevant the difference between software updates from Samsung and Apple, which I think it is. It’s crazy that these two are even comparable… In Germany/Austria the iPhone 15 is 750€ and the S23 510€… So there’s a huge difference in price and therefore the S23 takes it easily for me.
I have a Xiaomi X3 pro and i can set my phone in 60hz or 120hz. If I set my phone in 60hz, there's a slight difference indeed to 120hz if you pay attention to it. If you don't pay attention to it there's no need to worry about the hertz. So i think there is just not a very much difference but yeah okay, if you do, i should prefer s23

Most iPhone users don’t even notice the 60hz display let alone are even aware of the concept of high refresh rate, Ios makes up for the 6ohz with smooth animations.
I already have iPhone 15 and planning to buy s23/24 as secondary phone just for social media and banking & investment usage and the iPhone for receiving and making calls both personal and business. The most difficult part of having two phones is receiving calls so when you put that in only one phone it’s so much convenient
i think too many people forget that the base model iphones have always been the phone for "normal" consumers. people who don't really care about the specs and just want a reliable phone that will perform the same for years, with all the ecosystem bits like imessage and facetime. that's why apple doesn't bother putting something like 120hz on the base iphone, because they know that the people who care about that, are already getting the pro phone.
Nah apple is just keeping the 120 hz for the iPhone 16 so it has a new selling point. This whole argument of "you don't need this or that" never works because you could argue that about every previous tech innovation
I'm a big fan of your tech reviews and often rely on your insights before making a purchase. I'm currently considering the Samsung S23, but I've come across some reports online about potential overheating issues during everyday use. I was hoping you could share your experience with the S23, particularly regarding any heating problems. Have you encountered any overheating issues during your review process? If so, under what circumstances did they occur, and how severe were they? Knowing your perspective on this would be incredibly helpful in making my decision. I trust your reviews and appreciate your honest feedback
Wait this is not a fair comparison, the iPhone 15 is a flagship meant for 2024 (because it was released Q4 this year instead of the start of this year) so it should be compared with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24
Well great video, the comparison was top notch how you split the topics and nit picked each thing within it props for that and being an android user, i would prefer the S23 due to the small size and powerful chipset along with the premium feel of the whole package. Even still the optimisation and support of the iPhone 15 is just on another level. So cant pick a side but being a tech head myself who does a lot of sideloading and stuff, S23 is the way 😁😁
@alippi.fed I love that the iPhone still makes a 60hz display look really smooth, but that 120hz on the s23 still takes the cake for me. Hopefully we'll get a high refresh rate on the base model iPhones in the next few years!

i guess you haven't tried the Samsung Ecosystem. It works better for me. All flagship devices these days are really great, it really comes to personal preference...
@ezra_kam_19 I really like that the iPhones screen colour is more neutral and much brighter which is good for outdoor use but I hate the fact that it's a 60 Hz I mean for a phone that expensive it should come with a 90hz at least
iPhone 15 all the way. For a while now I have been buying old pro versions years after their release, and this has served me well. For the first time I am going to buy a brand new iPhone 15 because of the type C port, its shelf life and resale value. I currently have a Samsung S10+ but I also use a MacBook Air M1 which has a capped refresh rate of 60hz. For most people, these so called pro features don't really matter and go unnoticed.
Close enough in features and specs to the point where most things for casuals like me (the majority) It all comes down to preference. If you prefer IOS over Android OS then of course you’d go with an iPhone or the other way around. I personally don’t see a huge need to 120hz display mainly because when you’re sitting on your couch mindlessly scrolling through TikTok or instagram it really doesn’t matter weather or not you have 120hz or 60hz because you really aren’t going to notice a huge difference. Personally I’d take an iPhone 15 just because im already in the ecosystem and strongly prefer IOS over android OS.
Samsung (or Android in general) all the way. I really tried to like iOS, but I simply can't. The menus and "Apple way" annoy me to no end such as no universal back gesture, scrolling speed is slow, the long animations that make the OS feel slow, laggy keyboard where it's missing key presses, can't change media/ringtone volume seperately, rubbish file management, and the list goes on...
i would like to see a comparison between s23 and iPhone 15 in terms of the Operating System. atm i'm using an s23 which i bought in April for 769€. but how things are probably look for the future i will be either way forced to buy an Exynos version of a future Galaxy S class model or i switch to an iPhone Pro model. i like the small 6.1 form factor so the s2x Ultra is no option for me. for what I've seen so far i like the iPhone 15 Pro very much. i definitely want a 120hz display so the non Pro versions are no option for me. so how's the difference between Samsung's OneUi and iOS?
I have iphone 14 and switched to S23 wont upgrade to 15 for now cuz of dynamic island less refresh rate display and i am enjoying the customization of the galaxy .. gonna wait for iphone 16
@lolsjols Favourite feature coming to the iPhone 15 is the dynamic island. Great to see the regular iPhone now has that feature. S23 has better value than the iPhone 15 because you get snapdragon chip, 120 Hz and the extra camera being the telephoto.
120hz agree But chipset sucks comparing to the iphone And cam. Overall iphone is good point shoot, dinamic range, video, cinematic. Others Every one is talking about customization. What will u customize after getting samsung. Probably there is nothing to do. Lock screen available on iphone is better than samsung. And home screen who costimize home screen
I have been an iPhone user for a decade and after having too many bugs and issues with my iPhone 13 Mini since iOS 16 released, I decided to switch to the S23. I still have a MacBook and AirPods Pro, I sold my Apple Watch and iPad, and I've really enjoyed the freedom of the S23 in terms of settings and customization as compared to iPhones. To me, it's not a huge thing to stay stuck in the Apple ecosystem at the expense of my own freedom. There are things I like better about the iPhone but the S23 is a great phone and better overall imo... also I'll take 120hz over 60hz any day.
My 14 broke and ive been looking for a new phone and im debating between the s23+ and the 15 pro and this has been such a hard decision cause im too indecisive
Good review, but you didn't mention that s23 can be bought for 650 with discounts. This was even possible at the start of the year, whereas iphone 15 can't. Also ufs 4.0 is faster than iphone's and usb-c 3.2 is a lack in the iphone and I wouldn't say that the camera is better as this is very subjective. Both are wayy better than the average phone, so I would give it a tie as well. Android is very stable these days and i have seen a few bug in iOs as well. The only reason to buy the iphone 15 is the "ecosystem" which imo is not as powerful as before was, as android caught up. Even for 800 usd I would pick the s23 and I did for 650 with 256gb, which is a no brainer. And this is the older generation. The s24 which should be compared with iphone 15 normally would be on a whole new level i guess. Apple should be worried.

Thanks for your kind words!
@DionMedia No problem! Do you think there'll be a video on the S24? And comparing it to the S23? I'm looking to upgrade from the S20 to something newer.
Personally the form factor and design of S23 is just great , Iphone also looks great but S23 looks more sturdy
Is it worth the switch to Samsung? Is it as smooth as iOS?

That USB C port is probably the best change for me. Carrying only one type of cable for all gadgets is just that convenient.
I think S23 goes up to 1750 nits brightness
It does idk why he's getting info wrong
My old Mac and phone run on 60hz so I could care less about the higher refresh rate. I looked at the base and pro model iphones at best buy and definitely noticed the difference though. I'll take the higher resolution on the iphone 15 over S23 anyday even though I was always a fan of samsung phones. My S8 is six years old and has a nicer display than the base model S23 and I have no interest in paying more for the plus version because that larger screen size is not something I'm interested in so I'm tempted to buy an iphone 15 this time.
Did you buy the iPhone 15?
I tried the IPhone 15 and I really liked it but I choose to stick with the S23 since I'm familiar with the phone, I'll give iPhone another shot next year
I have traded my 6 months old S23U for iPhone 15+.
I like the rounder feel of the s23 but, the longer support for the iPhone is very compelling.

I really think both phones are very good in their own ways.

Happy to hear that!
i have both and i have to be honest, if ur a social media guy who always uses instagram, tiktok, snapchat, facebook, youtube, etc, iphone 15 is really for you, the quality u get from the camera(inside the app), haptics, animations and seamless transitions from each app is just different as what i get on the s23, iphone is just good at software optimization and integration, but if ur into general performance, experience and technicality, id say the s23 is for you, s23 has loads of features u can use day to day, i love both of these phones, i just tend to use my iphone more than the s23 because it really retains my skin color well on every photo i take.. u cant go wrong with these phones, i just prefer the simplicity of the iphone, since im a busy guy now and i started to work, i find my iphone really suitable for me on my filmmaking works and music production. might give my s23 to my girlfriend cuz i dont really use it that much.
thanks for sharing your insight with us!

Iphone is best❤
I went from a S22 to a 15 Pro and I’m not disappointed and it’s been awhile since I’ve had an iPhone
My favourite feature on the iPhone 15 is the voice isolation feature and the Samsung s23 is the feel on the palm of your hands. It feels premium
I got an S23 for my birthday 2 days ago and I love it so far. I have zero complaints.
Belated congrats and enjoy that great phone
Got the s23 and it feels good on the hand, I am bummed that the screen is only 1080p.
The phone will be a dozen years old by then. Most people will upgrade before that time.
@@blacbraun using that same logic, then it's irrelevant the difference between software updates from Samsung and Apple, which I think it is. My point is that I see many people saying how relevant software updates are but I think 4-5 years of OS updates are enough for most people, more than that is just a gimmick.
@@WarchiefTomiu gotta think about ppl buying used iPhones. I definitely like the s23 but the upgraded camera performance on iphone 15 is hard to ignore. And in the lonf term the performance of iphone will be better(if apple doesn't degrage it😂).
In my experience the battery life on the s23 isn’t that great in real life especially with mobile data where as the iPhone tend to have more linear one regardless of the usage

@runningwithem I think my favourite feature is 3rd party widgets on the lock screen, which i guess is more iOS overall rather than iPhone 15. For samsung s23 I love the good lock app and ability to customise the keyboard and fonts and things. It's the little things!
My favorite features on the iPhone 15 are the camera and the USB C!
I have a S23 and I love it.
It’s crazy that these two are even comparable… In Germany/Austria the iPhone 15 is 750€ and the S23 510€… So there’s a huge difference in price and therefore the S23 takes it easily for me.
The S23 is inferior to the iPhone 13. I sent my 23 back in and got the 15 instead after 3 weeks of awful front facing camera quality
Yeah even the iPhone 13 is more reliable than the S23. Android is still laggy and inconsistent.
I’m so unsure, I have an iPhone 11 and want to update, I really like iPhone 15 pink and s23 lavender and its camera. Samsung is like 300 dollars cheaper than the 15 too but the 15 is so gorgeous and I’m so used to iOS. I don’t know which one to pick
Well u just have dilemma exactly like me 3 days ago🤣
@@parkseoyin5957 what did you choose in the end?
Most iPhone users don’t even notice the 60hz display let alone are even aware of the concept of high refresh rate, Ios makes up for the 6ohz with smooth animations.
I already have iPhone 15 and planning to buy s23/24 as secondary phone just for social media and banking & investment usage and the iPhone for receiving and making calls both personal and business.
The most difficult part of having two phones is receiving calls so when you put that in only one phone it’s so much convenient
Why would u use the android for social media? iPhones are notoriously better for social media optimization.
@@bigredii2253 No issue can use in iPhone. I mean to say either of the two can be use for seperate purpose. Yea I agree 👍
i think too many people forget that the base model iphones have always been the phone for "normal" consumers. people who don't really care about the specs and just want a reliable phone that will perform the same for years, with all the ecosystem bits like imessage and facetime. that's why apple doesn't bother putting something like 120hz on the base iphone, because they know that the people who care about that, are already getting the pro phone.
Nah apple is just keeping the 120 hz for the iPhone 16 so it has a new selling point. This whole argument of "you don't need this or that" never works because you could argue that about every previous tech innovation
The iPhone 15 is the biggest upgrade 🎉

I'm a big fan of your tech reviews and often rely on your insights before making a purchase. I'm currently considering the Samsung S23, but I've come across some reports online about potential overheating issues during everyday use.
I was hoping you could share your experience with the S23, particularly regarding any heating problems. Have you encountered any overheating issues during your review process? If so, under what circumstances did they occur, and how severe were they?
Knowing your perspective on this would be incredibly helpful in making my decision. I trust your reviews and appreciate your honest feedback
how did it go?
Thanks this is helpful as someone that wants camera comparison, and might switch from an iphone. Can you compare the 15 pro max and s23 ultra
Wait this is not a fair comparison, the iPhone 15 is a flagship meant for 2024 (because it was released Q4 this year instead of the start of this year) so it should be compared with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24
Watching this on my S23 and I'm very happy about it 😂
I like iphone 15 camera upgrade ❤
Iphone is really awesome
The iphones noise cancelling when calling.. it's the best feature.
Well great video, the comparison was top notch how you split the topics and nit picked each thing within it props for that and being an android user, i would prefer the S23 due to the small size and powerful chipset along with the premium feel of the whole package. Even still the optimisation and support of the iPhone 15 is just on another level. So cant pick a side but being a tech head myself who does a lot of sideloading and stuff, S23 is the way 😁😁
Thanks for the feedback!

I love that the iPhone still makes a 60hz display look really smooth, but that 120hz on the s23 still takes the cake for me. Hopefully we'll get a high refresh rate on the base model iPhones in the next few years!
both phones are really good...i thilk i'll choose iphone 15 because of it's camera and it's ecosystem. i think the voice isolation and the face ID are great in the every day use and overall IOS it's a better all around ecosystem.
i guess you haven't tried the Samsung Ecosystem. It works better for me. All flagship devices these days are really great, it really comes to personal preference...
I have an iPhone 12 which should I get
@ezra_kam_19
I really like that the iPhones screen colour is more neutral and much brighter which is good for outdoor use but I hate the fact that it's a 60 Hz I mean for a phone that expensive it should come with a 90hz at least
iPhone 15 all the way.
😂 it won't support apple ai now. S23 gets galaxy ai even it's from last year
Close enough in features and specs to the point where most things for casuals like me (the majority) It all comes down to preference.
Samsung s23 👌🔥

Content consumption vs creation. Perfectly said. Since I would love to film myself drawing with iPhone id pick that over the Samsung

What did u choose?
Apple should be worried.
camera is not subjective, iPhone is much better, Samsung is bad
