Reviews on this film were a little harsh. One thing a few said was the producers of this film took a few to many liberties. Um you can say that for any film that deals with real people in history especially people from the 1500s. Record keeping wasn’t the greatest and a lot of these records were lost so come on lighten up. I enjoyed the film. Maybe time will allow this film to get a larger audience.
Misrepresentation of history can be dangerous to some extent. I enjoyed the film but I read so many things in the comments about how the film differs from actual events.
The reviews on this film were very mean and harsh. I feel like the jumped to the extreme and did not get too many historical moments. It was more based on Elizabeth and Mary just going back and forth with each other, and royal nobles getting a kick out of the cousin rivalry to produce an heir and see who's head would be at the executioners block, more than anything else. It is a beautiful film though and does not get the justice that it deserves, some of the descendants should give they're input on the scenes of another Mary, Queen of Scots film if it is ever made.
