Solid advice. Personally I don't understand why anyone would get on a dating site worlds apart. IMO you should have "boots on the ground" and be adjusted to the country before hopping on dating sites. Think the probability of things going south is much higher in a LDR situation.

Definitely meet the Filipina first before sending money. I am currently in the Philippines and I met a female on a dating site. Her photos and life story were great. We scheduled a face to face meeting and YIKES! Never again will I make that mistake. I recommend doing several VCs before meeting.

The interesting question, is why do guys think they have to send money to a girl they have never met personally? A vlogger years ago must have given some really poor dating advice that some guys seem to act like it is a requirement? But it is so common now that it is scary and ultimately is a total waste of money and doesn't guarantee you will even meet the girl!

My "LDR" does semi-porn videos (non-nude) that can be purchased online. I knew this BEFORE I developed a "friendship" with her (it actually kinda led me to make first contact). If she asks for money, she always "repays" me with videos which I can check the actual price she charged to other guys online for said videos. I have also gotten to know a few of her female friends and am aware of their social media. If they have local BFs, they are well hidden and I don't give a shit since the "relationships" have never been defined as "exclusive" and I have zero interest in managing their entire lives. Relationships always have weird snags, you never know what the other person is REALLY thinking, but they are easier if you are prepared for the possibility that they could go south at any time.
