If you only have a only a 2 week vacation and you want to get a feel for the Philippines, then I recommend Cebu City. From Cebu City you are a 2 hour Ocean Jet ferry ride to Bohol / Alona Beach (Panglao Island). From Bohol, you are a 2 hour Ocean Jet ferry ride to Dumaguete / Oslob . From Cebu City if you head north you are a 4 hour drive to the ferry that takes you to Santa Fe on Bantayan Island.
Dude I am absolutely blown away by your channel! Your explanations are by far the most concise, nuanced, no nonsense of any I've come across. You leave no questions unanswered. I've always been scared of the Philippines but after sifting through your channel I'm sold on BGC! Thanks so much! I wish more UA-camrs would tell straight facts like you!
Agreed, its a good start. Close to everything. C5 and Edsa. Eastwood, Makati, Pasay, MOA, casinos, shopping malls. If you book 30+ days airbnb, i think there is 30% discount. Plenty of apartments/condos short & long-term. Of the top 5-10 cities, i still really like Iloilo. But the international flights are down and there are frequent brownouts (low ngcp reserves). Palawan & Boracay are good but seasonal. Boracay has more emergency resources (clinics, hospitals). Weather is a huge factor. I experienced typhoon yolanda and typhoon odette in Cebu. Region 7 is a typhoon prone area. that is why i ended up in iloilo. it is a good city but energy problems. they are replacing or repairing the grid
Yeah, I couldn’t hang with the energy problems and I think it’s 20% on the month generally on Airbnb but yeah I think it’s good to visit as many places as you can and then settle down before you let a woman dictate your location
@@JasperinthePhilippineswhere would you settle if there wasn't a woman in the equation ? Personally I think it's a bad idea to determine where you live based upon a woman. Especially when women can be fickle and relationships don't always last. The place you settle down, the amenities, the atmosphere, the culture, the locals, those things are typically permanent or at least more stable
Manila where I settled. With a place at the beach as well if you can afford it or just trips to the beach as often as possible, but Manila homebase 100%.
@@JasperinthePhilippines bro i lived at Field Residence behind SM Sucat for years. It is in Paramaque Metro Manila, 10 minutes to airport. it was 12k monthly, the owner increasee it to 15k over the years. it is close to everything. you may like it there because you will save and still travel. you are close to MOA, Alabang, BF Homes, Makati, US Embassy, and airports. Just check it out, many condos for lease in the Admin office. swimming pool, gym, basketball court, shuttle, amenities

Cebu City IT Park is the poor man’s equivalent to BGC. I live in IT Park and I might as well be living in Scottsdale AZ except for it’s still 10 times cheaper.
I'm in BGC, for the last couple of months, and spent my first 2-3 weeks in Dumaguete Starting in Dumaguete, highly overrated! It is much more provincial, and I'm sure most of The Philippines are like Dumaguete, but the infrastructure is not good, the traffic is bad, the park at Rizal Drive is not good. If you never went to Dumaguete, you aren't missing much BGC, is the opposite, probably underrated. It is loud, noisy, but I'm from Brooklyn, so whatever. Outside of that, and the fact that there are no parks, or actually anything to do, culturally, it connects on every other expat checkmark. It's much like Tribeca or Midtown, in New York, or Brickell, in Miami. These also are fairly noisy, busy, less than cultural areas, but highly developed, low crime, and Westernized, upscale areas. Recommended.
Hey guys.. if you love women who will be super fun to be with and you don't have to chase, do NOT miss going to Angeles City ... it is truly amazing despite Jasper totally ignoring it ...if you don't go, you are missing the 9th wonder of the world for older foreigners...as for as Boracay, it is over-rated now as you cannot even drink a beer on the beach or even bring a chair on the beach,,, the water and sand are awesome druing the high season (but suck during the rainy season) but no chair, no beer on the beach sucks... but if you do go, he is right... bring a girl...again, DON'T MISS ANGELES CITY guys...it is only 1 and `1/2 hours from Manila airport bia the expressway
