I'm new to the gun scene and I copped a Taurus g3 and a canik tp9 as my first pistols and I love them . I could've got the Glock but I like how the Taurus looked better and felt better without realizing how much hate they get lol . Copped my first Ar15 and Ar 12 shotgun as well. Just get what you like 😊

Straight Facts
Been researching taurus since the G2 days and was reluctant to jump in…. I purchased a G3c as my first carry gun and I haven’t looked back since… First time at the range with it it was a little snappy but hasn’t jammed in many visits. Taurus gang all day 💪🏾🐂
Been trying to tell people. I've been carrying a gun on my hip for over 30 years for work. When i got that G2c 40 It was a game changer. I never had groupings that good before. I bought the G3c 9mm. Been procrastinating on the G3 tactical. Even though I was at the store the first day it hit the market. But i'm gonna get it.
That Taurus is designed with double strike capability.. its a selling point for the gun.. most ppl aren't used to shooting double action.. in a hammer fire you don't have that take up because the trigger comes back with the hammer.. but for a striker the trigger is spring loaded.. it pops forward to the resting position after ever shot... the wall and break are single action but the trigger returns to the double action position.. I like the Taurus G3 line because I prefer DA/SA hammer fire guns.. and this striker reminds me of that.. but that being said.. I'm not sure i would have tested the G3 against the 509.. and the reason why is single action vs double action/single action can't be compared.. The Taurus is good SD carry gun.. like you said.. it ain't a comp gun.. the trigger don't have to be great.. if I was comparing something to that FN it would be the Canik METE series.. Canik is a reasonably priced gun.. and its closer to the design of the FN than that Taurus is... as one that has shot both.. I'd take the Canik.. the trigger on the Canik is awesome right out of the box.. plus it has a better beaver tail which I heard you mention.. and it comes with a butt load of accessories.. best value for the buck... one thing I will say about the Taurus that was a huge selling point for me was the grip stippling.. you can put grease on your hands and still don't have to worry about that grip slipping... the stippling is that aggressive.
BTW.. Taurus does make a model that doesn't have that double strike trigger.. its just a regular single action.. I don't think it comes in that size.. its more the size of the G3c.. I believe its called a GX4.
The g3 is a double action. The restrike trigger is for if you have a light primer strike you can pull the trigger again and possibly shoot the bullet. Your entire argument is wrong.

The g3 is a single action weapon with restrike capability ...but that gx4 is a PROBLEM rn for every company. I picked it up when I was looking for another glock 26 . I thought I was gonna regret it ...now I'm in love.

Chris go with the keep tinkering trigger , eliminate the double strike and the travel by half. You'll see and feel the difference right away

Appreciate you getting to the range and posting a range review as fast as you did. Taurus has been working on improving their brand since the intro of the PT 111. As they keep getting customers' reviews, they improve where they are lacking. Torture test with running steel casing, +P, and +P+ ammo.
I love my G3 It’s my EDC. My gun personally has a good trigger with terrible sights.I had to replace my sights after the 3rd time shooting. Extremely accurate Before and After placing sights. Overall good gun.

Should’ve taken the light off the Taurus, or moved it around, gives the frame more weight to make it perceive softer. Doesn’t seem like a bad gun at all though good on them for stepping up their game these last years.
If you add the steel slicker guide it makes it way better

I've been saying the regular G3/G3c at $250 is the best 9mm handgun you can get for the price. The G3 Tactical isn't that different from a regular G3 at less than half the price, just has less features but it basically feels and shoots the same.
I have shot both but I own a G3c that I got when it first released.. It's my take anywhere backup gun.. I usually keep it stowed in the car with a kydex appendix holster and should I ever have a need for a small, light gun I don't care about scratching, rusting or losing I take the Taurus and put away my gucci glock Lol.
As for the trigger, I agree it has a lot of take up, but personally I think the G3c/G3 trigger feels a little better than a Glock Gen5 trigger on the wall and on the break.. The stock iron sights on my G3c aren't great tho, had an issue with the rear drifting and the front being a little loose.

My FN FNX-45 Tactical cost me $1,300 brand new, but boy do I love it. It came with a mounted light, 6 (15 round) magazines, 4 different grip options and a carrying case to hold it all.

i was a believer in taurus since my g3c. i bought it when everyone was saying they're bad. never had an issue, 2000+ rounds no cleaning. and it made me a better shooter having no features. my groupings with the g3c are better than my groupings with my work glock 17 gen 4. (and they're very different but i expected to be super tight with the g17 after everyone hyped it up).
yes its snappy, yes the trigger is sloppy. but something about it made it very accurate.
First off, clean your firearms. You can't expect it to work when you need it if you don't take care of it. Second, the "hype" behind the Glock has NOTHING to do with accuracy (even though there are plenty of people out there who shoot it very well, including myself). It has something to with the reliability. Of all the polymer framed pistols in existence, the Glock is by far the most reliable. I've carried mine for 12 years , roughly 25 or so thousand rounds thru it, and it has NEVER not went bang...whether I was on the job or in my local shooting range. Your accuracy is due to your familiarity, which is great...keep shooting it! But understand the difference...don't trust your Taurus with your life.

In that price range I'd go canik or m&p over taurus. My wife carries g2s. It's been good considering it was less than 300. But my m&p shield and canik TP9 combat elite are my go too all day

I got a G3c! My brother had a Millennium! He told me to change out the rod inside cause its plastic! By changing out plastic recoil rod to metal recoil rod caused it to take out some recoil and not be so snappy.
The fully ambidextrous got me to the Fn
Bought a Taurus 905 9mm revolver for backup. Gun has been great. Easy to carry, and seems to do what it's supposed to. I work in a gun shop for a few years, 15-20 years ago Taurus wasn't what they are today. Between the quality improvements, and the warranty reliability, for the money, the get some trash, but really ain't that bad.

@@ChrisTV1 THat FN needs an Apex Trigger . But they are difficult to get the stock trigger removed . It can be done though . I have done 3 of them . The pins are tight
@@cramerlong2276 I own 2 and owned another and never had issues. Trigger just not great. But I have owned them for almost 10 years and had one stolen that I had since 05. I got a S&W for my first in store purchase then got a Taurus. I own all types of guns now but wouldn't turn my nose up at owning another Taurus
FN 509. Hands down
Here is the deal with the trigger. Taurus designed the long take up as a way of making sure that you are intending to pull the trigger and commit to the target in front of you. Like are you sure you are sure. With the re strike you can use it as a dry fire trainer. If you have to change the trigger out Keep Tinkering has an ebay store and it cleans up the take up and does away with re strike. And yes I run the G3 with handleitgrips grip tape, and the holosun 507c acss. The reticle will change you life fooooooorevvvvvvver. I run acss (advanced combat sighting system) on everything I own.

GHG Hussle I have to drop some game on u my friend and inform you that the American flag patches on your ear pro is supposed to be switched so that the stars are infront, hence if u were to raise the flag and charge forward the stars/America would be in front leading the charge forward. Same reason the military wears the flag patch the same way😉

I told you so. Taurus is applying pressure to the competition by using in house products to create a new firearm. For example, they gave you a fde G3 TORO with raised iron sights and a threaded barrel.
GANGGANGTAURUS, On the real tho, I love my Taurus G3. Of course there's better handguns but price wise best bang for your buck budget wise. Look into the stoeger str9c also. I know that's a gun that y'all would love for 300-400. Y'all should do a budget gun competition challenge. Taurus vs Hi point vs Stoeger str9c etc. Best out of the guns actually goes into y'all carry edc rotation. You and the boys really do encourage all of us to get out here train and shoot.

@@Dressed2KillTaye I can't disagree with you. They've come a long way in the past few year's for sure. My only Taurus experience was with the gx4. But it was way too small for my hands. Other than that, it wasn't a bad little gun.
The 19x doesn’t come Optic Ready or with a threaded barrel. That’s why I compared the fn over the 19x

509 tactical is a little less than 1k. I’d say it’s worth the difference if you can afford it but the Taurus is a good budget option. I would trust a taurus with my life, but I like to spend a bit more to have something more comfortable and fun to train with.

It had nothing to do with the name they were not as precise because, as all of them stated, they do not shoot it enough to be as crisp, and the Taurus is more in they wheel house because it's mirrored so close to Glock types they prefer. The 509 is pricey but a DAMN good gun.
Hey Chris check out the Beretta Apx A1 it’s a banger for the buck. It has a sweet trigger, comes with back straps, optic ready. You can score them for as little as $350 and about $425 with the Burris FastFire red dot. If you like the G3 you’re love the A1
Apex trigger in the FN makes it 10x better if a shoot hated shooting mine until I changed it

I'm telling you, the Taurus G3 was my first and I can still shoot it well. I just wish that it had better ergonomics. If it was like the Taurus TX .22 model, it would be great in the hand. Thanks for the great vid.

I can understand recoil but how on the groups? Even if you look at Rambo Jays hand placement, his thumb is resting on the top of the slide.
It does matter. Weight is weight. If you are going to compare a weapon, it needs to be stock for stock, or it is not accurate. Unless there is a weight difference mainly, meaning one is larger than the other. But ultimately, to have a fair testing ground, they need to be built the same light for light , dot for dot , trigger for trigger, if one is moded in any way they both need to be
all that travel in the trigger of the Taurus is by design. I dont buy it but they say it's due to the restrike capability. Taurus spokepersons have commented on that numerous times

The aftermarket trigger is like $30 called an Operis trigger made for Taurus but I think you loose the double strike capability
