Chris, what I have seen with me when shooting the second shot low, I was overcompensating for the recoil and driving my shot low. Once I started to just focus on the grip and not the recoil that went away.

I would say it's your grip The gun always wants to go to the weakest side, in this case, your support side. That's why your second shot is going to the left.
