This guy isn't just another chef; seldom that I'm getting so inspired. My colleague's father is Greek and I asked for his reportedly great moussaka recipe. She never gave it to me - which indeed was irritating - but no worries after me having seen Akis here! My family is gonna have a lovely moussaka today!
Wish I’d found you years ago.Every recipe I’m watching is mesmerising and look amazing. Although I’m English I believe Greek food is the very best in the world.
I just made this and I can’t even begin to describe to you how good this is. For those of you who are sensitive towards meat taste there is none in this. My tip is just to get quality canned tomato’s otherwise they can get a bit sour and you’ll need way more sugar to counter the sourness. I added probably three times the sugar and made double the amount of bechamel just because I like it creamy and it was amazing. But key is to to taste taste taste the meat sauce and then adjust to taste
I just love the way he creates his videos. Like, why would anyone not subscribe!!❤ These videos are so much fun to watch. It always appears that he is so happy to cook & teach others too. Cooking also looks very natural to him just as much as humor. I tried mousaka when I was on a Greece vacation. As soon as I got back home, I hit youtube & Akis came up first. I have never looked at any other video ever again. For records: I had made Mousaka when my friends visited & they all were in awe of this dish. All the thanks goes to Akis for his wonderful recipe which he shares & the way he delivers which makes it look so easy.
Hello greece, hello akis, thnks for sharing this lovely recipe which keep us near by grecce in this pandemie times,u made it today, was like rainbow on the mouth, full of flavored,so silky the aubergine, bravo from romania,🤗🤗
HI This is the best version of stuffed eggplants I have seen so far! I like that you don't scoop out the middle which I have been doing and which makes the cooked shells too flimsy to handle. Just pressing down the cooked flesh is a much better idea! Thank you, for great recipe! Shalo to us only in Christ Yeshua.
Akis, I am a late starter to see your vlogs and love them! You are a true showman with awesome authentic Greek recipes! Please keep sharing! I live in New Zealand.
I am taking my grandchildren on a Greek culinary journey - I've made Papoutsakia before but this recipe is amazing ... thank you Aki ... you are a great help to those of us in the diaspora who are struggling to keep some of our ancient culture alive - food always does the trick - no better way to keep the culture going! Efharisto ....
I tried the dish out. We adored it. We all love aubergines. Thank you for showing us how to make these lovely stuffed aubergines. Greek food is delicious. Thank you.
This is really delicious ...I made it two times now...it’s smells like you are on holiday in Greece !!! Thank you AKIS 👍👍👍 Your Moussaka is also the best I have ever tasted 👌👨🍳 Grts from Belgiuim 💙🇬🇷
Thank you my brother for sharing this delicious eggplant dish i made it today and it turn out beautiful and absolutely delicious !!!!!!!! UMMMMMM. I will be adding this dish in November American tradition called "THANKS GIVING" GOD BLESS
I made this last night and it was INCREDIBLE!!! I love eggplant and this is a great jus way to prepare them. My boyfriend was floored when he tried it, his favorite dish yet! Thank you!!
love your videos and shows @Akis. I am from India but now I am inspired to make some Greek food! With a smile! This eggplant dish will happen soon! Thanks much!
Akis, you are a blessing with beauriful soul, a gift from our creator. Never can get tired of watching you cooking. I love you and appreciate your hard work to infinity and beyond. Cheers to you🍷🍾 ma man🍻
I'm making this tonight. Only...my grocery store didn't have gruyere cheese so I have to use parmesan instead. I know I will love this because Akis' recipes are always good. Every one I've tried is a hit in my house.
We first had this a number of years ago on a trip to Greece! Fell in love with these and have been making ever since. Since we usually are watching our calories around here we hardly ever use the béchamel version ( best that way though) . We top with some grated cheese and a slice of tomato. These really are a kind of "personal moussaka" and I love the name, "little shoes"!
I made this Melitzanes Papoutsakia for some of my Greek friends on Sifnos one Summer. There was less pressure because i had practiced this classic aubergine dish at home after seeing this youtube film, thanks for posting Akis! Buying all the ingredients was fun, as i didn’t know the Greek for ‘parsley’ or anything else in this dish for that matter and had to bring a bilingual friend to help me. Essentially, making this dish is very similar to making the classic Greek Moussaka, but I love the Greek name and the idea each dinner guest gets two “little shoes” on their plate.
Hey, the video is so amazing! I love this food and so did my daughter... even without the Bechamel sauce. Very instructive AND entertaining! FIVE STARS! Ευχαριστώ πολύ
Aki giasou. Piga stop super market poromenos na ftiaxo to kima me to menta.Mou anoixes tin orexi. Then eixan omos eggplants. No problem ta eftiaxa me makaronia. To gevma eitan excelent chef.
When I was younger and vacationed in Greece I would visit my aunt and I was introduced to this dish. It was life changing. You don’t see this dish in Greek restaurants very often. Unfortunately!
Akis, while you were making this dish my mouth was watering, because this is ny favorite veggie. Need to make this recipe right away or else I will go through eggplant withdrawal.
Very interesting, I must try this. Our Turkish version doesn't have bechamel sauce and also doesn't have so many spices and herbs. This looks absolutely terrific.
@AkisKitchen: I really enjoyed your video. It's the perfect dish for me to cook for my Mother's upcoming Sept birthday. Growing up she would take us into Greek town a few times a year to eat at the restaurants and shop the food stores. She loves eggplant & this dish appears easy to make with a few simple ingredients & we can drink up some of that red wine 😉🖒 Thank you for sharing.
