I made this dessert several times from another UA-cam video, but I love it! I was able to travel to Athens prior to COVID-19, and I mentioned this dessert, the Greek gentleman were shocked with my pronunciation of the word and that I knew of this dessert. They were so nice, one gentleman went to a bakery close by the restaurant we were at and had the owner make two of them and bring it over to our restaurant to eat for lunch! I really enjoyed my time there and hope to return in the future! Thanks for this video.

Thank the heavens for the people who invented this cake, it's so good. I literally annoy everyone with how much I love this cake. I always make it when I have time for special occasions. An elderly friend and former boss had got it into her head that my husband constantly cooked rich meals because I told her about one special dinner he cooked. She constantly criticised me for 'letting' him eat fattening things. She made me so anxious that we cooked the fun stuff less and less and as bought deserts are even less healthy it was not as fun and we still put on weight!
The friend was not even married and looking back I am appalled I listened!

I love ALL of Akis' videos but really appreciate that they are using less music in the background. Also, thank you, Akis, for explaining why you use the honey .. I am about to make your baklava and panicked because I do not have glucose (probably Karo syrup is an equivalent here in the US??). Now I can use honey (and hope I don't ruin that perfect recipe).
I am making this for Thanksgiving. I wanted to give my dad a Little Taste of a Childhood Memory. His Mom (My Greek Ya ya) would make this for the holiday, mainly around Easter.

It doesn't look much, but it is. Tastewise is one of the best desserts. When I have a cheat day every few months this is the dessert I chose from all the meriad western and eastern options.

This is the traditional dessert. But you can find it with another type of phyllo too.

I would guess yes. My mother makes it about twice the height same as the ones in bakeries.

I prefer with no syrup at all and much less sugar would substitute the sugar with honey
There is no syrup without sugar! You can find many healthy recipes on my website!
