It’s really not, sectional density isn’t that good compared to the .600 nitro and the smaller calibers. Besides at $100 a round who is going to afford to shoot that?? Not to mention it’s practically overkill and the recoils is not tolerable to most, along with the weight of the gun. @@zedlepplin7834 The majority of times damage to guns occurs because of barrel obstructions, it happens to hunters who have inadvertently/unknowingly clogged their bores with mud/snow. Yes, even snow is a barrel obstruction. Perhaps from a fall. If they didn't check the bore this can happen.
It is the reason a lot of old guns' barrels get bulged or split.
It rarely happens to people who do their shooting at ranges or from computer keyboards in their basements.

He was asking about getting a poly-choke installed. When Chet asked him how he blew up the shotgun barrel, they guy said, "If you saw a fish in the water and wanted to shoot it, how would you do it?" He then went on to explain that he had stuck the muzzle about four inches into the water and shot, spectacularly rearranging his barrel. I have one of these shotguns (basically the same exact gun) and I can see why it took so long to break. The barrel walls are VERY thick on these shotguns. It's still crazy that it actually contained all that pressure without exploding, before launching the shell out at the speed of sound. The pressure must be fairly low. If you could get full pressure out of that 700 nitro round, that shotgun probably would've exploded into several pieces.
