Harley Sportster: The Curse Of Ebay Special Parts!

- 💭 Coming off the blown high of painting motorcycle parts, I would begin reassembling the Sportster.
The front end would prove to be another challenge with various eBay special parts and dealing with the infamous fall away test.
I would not be successful getting the adjustment correct, but would make major progress with getting this motorcycle closer to completion.
Not mentioning certain parts on the handlebar set up not fitting after I spent some coins on em... always a frustration.

Would recommend before the first whack on the axle bolt, thread the nut back on. Gives more surface to strike and less opportunity to wreck the threads.

"Happy little accident" Bob Ross lol
Dig the Harley sweatshirt as you work on the sportster
It’s warm.
"Every tool is a hammer?' Dude. Don't even touch my micrometer.
😂😂, I’ll buy you another.
Hahah, I have the same stool and it broke the same way. Had a buddy weld a new heavy gauge metal on it and good as new. Cheap design for sure
I took it as needing to lay off the big back snacks cause I was hella embarrassed.
@@BrandonBicassooh I for sure need to do that also but that metal used for the mounting is way too thin.
Love your videos, keep it up! Cheers from France ✌🏻🏍️
Keep it up!
that front fender looks good
Do we know if the fall away test is valid for this model? I know some models use a different test, essentially a lbs resistance test.
I was going off the good ole manual cause I knew there was a test for it.
They def need more clarity in the manual then. Loving the videos
the purpose of tighten the neck bearings like you did is to seat the bearings into the races
Yeah, I'll go for a rip on it to see if it falls apart. :)
@@BrandonBicasso should be fine
Is that front tire on backwards? Tread pattern looks like it's set to pull water into the center as it rolls.
Edit: nope, zooming in I can see the arrows, it's on right!
Aren't you glad I film in 4k? haha
❤❤❤❤❤beautiful work.
Preciate that!
I’m wondering if the fall away test isn’t working because of the caliper and brake on the one side and not the other. Unequal weight…
Yeah, my thought as well. Supposed to be done with the caliper mounted
@@BrandonBicassoPerhaps in the loose position the caliper cable was giving a minuscule amount of resistance.
I love your videos👍🏻. Zen-like calming effect. I imagine doing your own cams gives you a seriously higher level of gratification. Bike wise.
You can always throw a fuel pump in one of those 5 gallon gas cans. Hold it onto the bike with a few bungie cords for good measure. I'm sure that's the least sketchy thing you have done with a bike. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oh.. just wait till I have fuel dumping on a piping hot bike. I've had a lot of run-ins with fuel the past year. My guardian angel chain smokes when I get anywhere near fuel.
@@BrandonBicasso 🤣 ☠️ you will be riding like ghost rider
Hi Brandon 👋
Hi Bridgett! 👋🏾
eBay is hit or miss and I’ve left them alone after the is last eBay purchase I made..
What was the last eBay purchase?
I purchased a 7 inch headlight adapter for my Suzuki C50 it didn’t fit didn’t have all the parts and the company didn’t want to give a refund. Had to Jerry rid it to get it to work.
Fall away? more like CRAWL AWAY FROM THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT. jk. lol.
Naw definitely might fr.
🙌 Torque Wrench 👏👏👏♟️
