Here is a tip, when you interview let the interviewee explain and not talk on his behalf. While I am sure you know plenty he is the expert in his product.
Whenever the 9550 comes up in a video, I have to say that's it's waaay to stiff for a daily driver/pavement application. The off-road performance is great!
Thanks for video! Could you help to choose please? What is better: adjustable control arms or control arms brackets or 3-link long arm kit (diy kit)? These kits have approximately similar prices. Using vehicle everyday and offroad on weekends. Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Rubicon 2015. Lift 3.5 inches. The main goal to put 37 inches tires and make Jeep suspension is very reliable. Few times per year we go to the mountains for a couple days. There is no any service or welding or even electricity. So suspension must be very reliable to not to way some parts in the mountain:)
XDaRegulatorX I really like it on 2.4 but I think it really depends on springs and suspension. I have the teraflex 3” springs and that it’s rides awesome
I had a Teraflex 3 1/2" lift kit installed and it came with the 3.1 piggyback shocks. They will adjust, but must be done before installing. However, if you want to change the setting,(for example in cold weather,) you just un-bolt the bottom bolt, let it extend out, then twist the shaft whichever way is needed. A bit of a hassle, but love the shocks. Do wish they could have been the 3.3's, but lacked the $$$ at the time. Maybe somewhere down the road. Great video!
Aziz Al Roumi in my experience setting “1” is so soft that when you hit a large bump it sends the Jeep rocking back and forth a bunch. It’s GREAT if you don’t want to feel the bumps of a gravel road or washboard road, but when you hit a bigger bump you’ll be rocking for a few moments.
Aziz Al Roumi I like to keep my Falcons on 2.6 when I’m on the road. Feels like the right balance between stability and comfort. When I go off road I do 3, and if I chance upon a washboard road or a long gravel road where I’m still driving fast, I switch to 1.
The 9550s are probably like my RC N3 shocks, good for slow offroading but they suck on the highway and for fast offroading. I had over $100 in amazon points so I went with the Falcon 2.1s, apparently they are better than the Bilsteins 5100s.
Being new to off-roading ,I've heard that alot of people are using Fox Shocks and I haven't heard of any one using Falcons , can you tell me which is the better choice .
Falcon shocks are a great option when looking for replacements, as well! Falcons will tend to ride a little stiffer as low-speeds and loosen up at high speed due to their digressive valving. This will allow for nice and stiff ride off-road to hold up to rock crawling, but a more supportive ride and less body roll once you're on the highway. Fox shocks are set up to ride a little bit softer, but still perform just as well off-road. It really comes down to personal preference between the two. -Zach
I have the 3.3 sp2's on my 2019 JLU rubicon and they are unreasonably stiff and bouncy on road even in full soft. They do soak large hits extremely well and reduce body roll, however small bumps and or uneven roads are extremely jarring. Sometimes even with the longer wheelbase the rear of the jeep kicks. Even after spending the money I did on them I am considering other options King Ect. Admittedly the roads where I live a pretty terrible.
How did you like the 9550 - i am thinking of replacing my 2020 Rubicon stock shocks now at 60K miles with them. Mainly street driving and dirt road use
@@Wrangler59 Thanks so much! I didn't see the need for 2.0's right now. Going to put the extra money into a new front track bar and likely a Falcon 2.1 steering stabalizer. Will be a fair amount of hiway driving and some light off road stuff.
@ArtbyPatrickPetruccello I'd just get the 9550 vss steering stabilizer if you're not rock crawling. That's what I did anyway to save money just going on moderate trails.
3 settings? I put QA1s on my lightning and you can get double adjustable knobs with 18 settings. But those falcons look better if that's an issue with you. I put rough country on my jeep after the lift and different springs and it is very stiff in the street. Even with C rated 35/37 mud terrains its Too stiff imo but offroad it cant be beat
Not necessarily. I have the 3.3's They are a little bit stiffer than what the stock were and according to a little research they are a the 1st setting on the 3.3 is slightly stiffer than the 2.1, but that is driver opinion.
They make it sound like it's 3 shocks fit all .. You can have the best shocks in the world if they are not valved and tuned internally for your vehicle you are wasting your money.
Little late but, Some manufacturing companies don't set or force RRP prices and let the market sort itself out. This may not be the case with these guys, but just something to remember

This is one of those "show and tell" videos you show your wife on why you need nice expensive shocks :)
Thanks for video!

Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Rubicon 2015.

I have the 3.3 and I love them. From daily driving to hitting the sandy beach at high speeds the quick adjustments are awesome
I was hoping for a comparison between manufacturers like Falcon, Fox, and King
XDaRegulatorX I really like it on 2.4 but I think it really depends on springs and suspension. I have the teraflex 3” springs and that it’s rides awesome
Is it softer then stock
What would you recommend if you only do light trails (1-3/10) and want much less body roll when commuting on road?
He would recommend whatever he can sell you more expensive, like, well, Falcon shocks
I had a Teraflex 3 1/2" lift kit installed and it came with the 3.1 piggyback shocks. They will adjust, but must be done before installing. I bought the adjustable 3.3s and I love them. I like to use “firm” as I climb and descend ledges. I usually leave it on setting 2.6 for road driving

Love this. Very comprehensive and answers my questions entirely.
Thanks for watching! -Zach
I went with the Falcon 2.1
It hit the wallet but left some room for new tie rod and drag link (which was needed).
Will the 3.3 work with Jeep TJ?
Falcon 3.3 SP2…. I installed them yesterday and they are extremely fun over ruts in the road.
Thanks for watching! -Zach
Just ordered my 3.3's and should have em on this week. Really looking forward to the difference I hear it makes!
We hope you enjoy them!!
excellent break down and explanation of the line. Thx Guys
Any shocks I get would be an upgrade. My Jeep feels like it has no shocks and every little bump feels like shattering glass on my frame.
Does any particular one do better on washboards?
Thanks that's was great information and now live know what to look for 🖒
This is great! Hopefully more like this are to come out

Which shock wud be best for jumps? I’m assuming the reservoir set on soft?
Kolour Blind no. Opposite, you want it set to firm so you don't bottom out and hurt the shock
Awesum man thanks for the reply.makes sense
Great breakdown.

This blows my mind. Thanks for the info.
Maybe you need to rotate the shafts on them to the lighter setting?
Just ordered the 9550 vss shocks and steering stabilizer.

Can they go on a 2018 Ford F-150 black ops
Why my jeep jl 2020 , feels hard on the highway and road with the falcon 3.3 , I have 37 "x13.50x 26" tires.mall crawler

Great Video, Thanks!

any idea what the rims are on the nearest jeep at 1:09 ?
Probably the method race wheels, standard is the name of it
Thanks
What about a Jeep JK with no lift, stock tires and is never driven off road whose shocks are worn out??
Why don’t you let the designer of the shocks explain how it works,it’s painful to have to listen to someone motor mouthing about it,sorry.
They make it sound like it's 3 shocks fit all .. You can have the best shocks in the world if they are not valved and tuned internally for your vehicle you are wasting your money.
Almost seems like the cheaper ones are better
The Falcon 3.3 shocks are 100% overpriced garbage. They have three settings:stiff, super stiff, insanely stiff...
Why would they never talk price? It’s annoying tbh

Teraflex are overpriced garbage.
Does teraflex make Falcon shocks?
They do! -Zach
