The hard part of the final boss fight isn't timing your jumps and getting into the tank, it's that you have to fight hard against your intrinsic sense of rhythm and focus solely on what you see. The mouth attacks and brain blasts are desynced to one another, and the lag spikes whenever the boss shoots can serve to both save you and throw you off if you got a rhythm in cycling between in tank and on foot.

I had 13 years old when I complete that mission in very hard mode what a good times :'3
I still remember when me and my big brother struggles alot playing this mission together
Such a great final mission, the subversion of expectation that it might end at the Morden fight.. but then it keeps going! It’s basically two missions in one. But the fact that it just keeps going is sooo fcking awesome!
I remember playing this game and this level and i was sooo shocked when my character"fav" got abducted. Best childhood and best game of all..
6:18 Morden:Wut...
Also Morden:Ahhhh!!! I need somebody to help me out here!
i love the story in the whole metal slug series . its so well executed
24:30 and 25:50 are pure examples of RNGesus covering for you. Good Lord.
28:06 I love how Rootmars literally got shit on lmao
I was smiling through the whole video, remembering the joy and PAIN that i suffered through the whole franchise in PS2, i need to play them again
Imagine playing this in the arcade
I do it
Imagine having never played this in an arcade before
@@It_Was_The_Entity in canada there is an arcade machine that was made in 2003 every 10 km apart from here
I did play this numerous times on the arcade machine during my highschool days way back 2008. It's pretty intense and cool to find myself being surrounded by people while i beat the game with 1 token. 😅
I did. Always had a crowd behind me. Especially for metal slug x.
Root Mars final boss fight drives me nuts, I tried so hard to dodge the orbs below me
This is by far my favorite mission of all the franchise.
Arcade machine of Metal Slug 3:
"Hippity hoppity, your allowance is now my property."
Around 16:30 unloading the big guy was a marvelous movement
Didn't know that was possible
This is reminiscent of resident evil lazer rooms
You can unload the lasers in RE?
@@Steele47 no, but the moves that Resident Evil characters use to move through the rooms would be great against Metal Slug alien lasers.
@ ohh you were talking about the brain in a jar that makes you jump through laser hoops. Yeah that sounds fitting
America: We built a rocket and flew it to the moon! What took you so long?
Russia: 12:04
crazy how quickly this game turned in to Contra
Naked clone fio is the best part about this video😂😂
From the very beginning of the mission up to you getting into the Metal Slug after beating the final boss, you seem to have taken 28:13 to beat this mission. And you did it on your last or only life without any continues. Very impressive indeed.
The sprite animation is so beautiful. It's 1/3 of the reason I love this game series.
ok, I'll bite, what are the other 2? Fio and Eri?
jk, for me It would be the music and style.
@@amaliomontana Right on the money with the music and style.
It's the final boss' song for me. The perfect song for the final mission of a war videogame in which you have to save the world by yourself.
I remember playing this with my cousin as a kid, damn when i saw my pj allying with the soldiers and get launch to the space my hype level was over 9000😂🔥🔥🔥

lol that *"SHIT"* drop in the end LMAO
@@zerofichas6963 jajaja
Like the meme says: It has been 84 years since I looked for this on UA-cam. Nice done, finally I can watch this. Also that little frame in the end saved you, I always die a lot in the end
Me acuerdo cuando llegue por primera vez a esta misión... Emoción pura
I loved this game sooo much. I played this game like a thousand times.

As what I searched, that fish was supposed to be the antagonists for the next Metal Slug, but SNK was at the edge of bankruptcy at that time. And its significance was never been implemented at the existing MS4 because of the change of company.
To this day me and my homies play through MS 1,2 and 3 in any console. And 3 being our most favorite because its then we realised there is actually a story behind these games.
