My buddy and I played through this game countless times in the early 90s. So many times that it was basically muscle memory. About ten years ago we got a chance to play it again and played through it seamlessly on the first attempt. Everything was reflexive - who got which weapon upgrade, who killed which enemy where - just like it was an afternoon after school in 1991 again. We hadn’t even missed a beat. Great times.

The best thing about this game was that I was able to play it with my brother a million times and we still loved it because what made it so special was that it kept us together and even though we don't speak to each other anymore it's a beautiful memory that lives on in my memory and in this wonderful game!

So many indian kids played this. Every town had these cassettes that you would plug into a game system and a TV. Most cassettes would have a pack of 100 games, and CONTRA would usually be on top of the list. I used to go to a friends house and play this. Felt good to be with someone who took games seriously.

I first played this game when I was 6.....it took me 2-3 years to complete...then I got a cassette which has this this game but with 30 lives ....I always played it with my uncle....thankyou very much bro...☺☺☺

The best thing about this game was that I was able to play it with my brother a million times and we still loved it because what made it so special was that it kept us together and even though we don't speak to each other anymore it's a beautiful memory that lives on in my memory and in this wonderful game!

So many indian kids played this. Every town had these cassettes that you would plug into a game system and a TV.
Most cassettes would have a pack of 100 games, and CONTRA would usually be on top of the list.
I used to go to a friends house and play this. Felt good to be with someone who took games seriously.
