    This is what i love about crochet. Once you get the basic stitches down it seems like their are an endless amount of stitches you can work with. I will try this one because I am really comfortable with the single crochet stitch. Thank you for sharing.

    What a beautiful stitch. I see you really like using shiny, roving yarn, which gives a more elegant look. Thank you👏🏼👍🏼

    I think this is how I will be doing single crochet from now on. I bet it works well for amigurumi.

      Having used it on amigurumi it should be a standard stitch deviation. Its tighter, bulkier, and cleaner looking, and it makes any project immediately look higher quality

    This can be worked flat for a scarf/rug by cutting and starting a new or same yarn back at the beginning. Basically pieces that would utilize fringe or someone who really likes weaving in ends lol.

    It's used a great deal for amigurumi which are mostly worked in the round. It makes a tighter stitch so there's less likelihood of the stuffing showing through and it also uses less yarn

      Yes, I'm in the habit of yarning under because I do a lot of amigurumi, but at the same time, I'm not experienced enough in crochet to be able to identify a stitch at a glance. I thought this was a different stitch I was learning but I guess I've been doing it all along lol

    Beautiful! Just wondering why it should be worked on rounds. Why can’t it be done for blankets?

    • @juliebell6270
      @juliebell6270 3 роки тому +4

      The stitch does not look the same on both sides of your work, there is a definite right (R) and wrong (W) side. A blanket pattern has you turning your work at the end of the row and working down either the R or the W side depending on which side you just completed.

    This is a great pattern! Do you know if it would work on a square or rectangle made in the round as opposed to back and forth in rows?

    I find the yarning under doesn't always work for the x look you can also use it on flat work not only in the round however the x is not as distinct as in the round plus whatever type of yarn your using really highlights the textures of your work plus I love the colors,,,,very nice,,,,but my brain forgets to yarn under

    Is increasing or decreasing this stitch recommended or does that ruin the neat look of the crosses? I guess i will have to experiment. Thank you for all the great videos. They are beautifully recored and have given me loads of inspiration.... as you can tell from my overflowing wip boxes

    So if you do it in the flat and you do one row as this one and when you turn your work it’s just regular SC and then you turn again and start this stitch again. Could be an interesting pattern

    Ok I'm a newbie, so could you explain why would this stitch only work in a round and not in a flat piece?

    • @dragorine
      @dragorine 4 роки тому +4

      I think that's because in circular you get the "cross" in the same side, while in a flat piece would be alternating

    I need a little help! I am self taught crochet. Most projects I do are basic simple to do, but the one I am working on has me completely confused. I am working on an afghan and am on the border of it. I will give you the last instruction of Rnd 1; join with slip st to first sc: which I have done. It is Rnd 2 that has me stuck. Rnd 2: slip st in next sc, [ch 2, working around first hdc, hdc in same st as joining(beginning Cross St made)], working Cross Sts around; join with slip st to first hdc changing to MC, drop CC: 176 Cross Sts. Can you break this down for me or maybe do a video on it, I would be so ever grateful. Thank you.

    If anyone wants to use the same yarn as in her tutorial, Hobby Lobby Bee brand has an exact replica of it. I genuinely thought that's what she was using at first bc it is the exact yarn. I forget the name of it, I believe it's called Yarn Bee Comfy Classic?! Anyway just an option if you cant or dont want to order online and have a HL in your area.

    Why can u only work in rounds? I’d love to make a scarf with this pattern :/

    • @claraphiri4180
      @claraphiri4180 3 роки тому

      Because when you turn your work the single crochet looks different from the back. So this stitch would loose the effect because it would only be in every other row when looking at the front of your work
