Does Fernando understand the danger of mold? There is a new roof now, but how many years was the house exposed to water damage? Fernando mentions good products to seal the wall. Is he joking? Then he mentions some paint. It’s going to take a lot of money to make the house safe from mold. Thank you, Nick. I do enjoy all your videos.

With a bit of effort a perfectly habitable little house with a new roof. Get your foot in the door in Portugal for not a lot of cash and that's not easy these days. Seems like a really good opportunity.

BUYER BEWARE looks very idyllic and romantic BUT the black mold in that place is deadly for your health. It needs a lot more than some updating. Tons of damp treatment and decontaminating unless you want to get seriously ill. These estate agents need to be honest about what they are trying to offload.
This agent describes the problem and how it can be resolved, clearly at every point on the tour.
We work with Fernando as he doesn't hide any problem, rather highlights the solution.
As for "trying to offload", I don't know a great deal about property here in Portugal, but I've seen a few and this, for me is a great property at a very fair price.

@@destino2portugal It's described as needs updating, that's grossly underestimating the amount of work involved. I'm simply pointing out the fact that that place needs a ton of work and it's not a simple update.
@gee3883 I am in a similar position and this is a relatively easy restoration compared to many.
Fernando points out the need to tank the first bedroom wall, expose the stonework in the front room, although someone suggested kapoto on the outside which is a great idea.
The second bedroom I'd bet is damp from the terrace and we also mentioned the need to replace the windows.
It's got a great new roof and new floors which is a big part of it.
As I said, we don't hide any problems and show all the good and the bad.
Also, it's 35k euros so very cheap.
Agree. House looks like a mold experiment. Every inch of the walls have water intrusion. Hard to imagine a worthwhile fix for this.

What alovely little home. Perfect for asingle person and her dogs. Oh yes that describes me. With love this could be the best home ever. Even has a smqll garden for a few veggies and a terrace to sit and have a coffee with a good book
That's a perfect description of what this house offers Mary, and just a short distance from the lake to teach the dog how to swim!
We taught our girls how to swim in the zezere river last year, it was a magical moment on a hot summer day ♥️

Parcels of land can be bought up, I do know the ruin and land could be available to buy also.

Beautiful lake and property, but when you're up on that terrace I am totally shocked to see all the chemtrails from the airplanes. There's like six different chemtrails in the sky. I didn't think they did that. Unfortunately I guess they do it everywhere. That's not good. That's a lot of stuff going on there 😢

A lot of potential there at a good price. I agree with Fernando's suggestion to expose the stone on the inside. Then insulate and render the exterior where possible. Roof is top notch. Views at Cabril are amazing. Thanks guys.

Bang, new set windows, few pots of paint for outside and in, , i would have this knocked into place in under a month or 2, id take part of wall away and stone chip the front, for car 🚗, life changer for someone to get owning there own wee home or holiday let,

Could be a darling cottage. The first room needs to be sealed from the outside for moisture issues. Updated bathroom with shower. But the asking price is fair.

Whats it like trying to move to Portugal from the UK now post Brexit?
You would need to get a visa, it's obviously more difficult but not impossible.
There is the choice of buying as a -holiday home' staying for 90 days and waiting for the eventual rejoining of the single market and customs union which would also mean the return of freedom of movement, it's going to happen, people just have to suffer for a while longer.

How far is it from the airport?
1 hour 45 to Porto, 2 hours 30 from Lisbon. 5 hours from Faro
