Enjoying these tool reviews , The Roberts 10-616 Is definitely my trimmer of choice as well, I have used them for almost 30 years and would not even consider switching for a Nother brand
Great explanation, thank you - just a quick question if I may - Are you saying, not to crease the carpet at all, before cutting with Robert 616 or to just mildy crease the carpet before trimming with the Roberts ? Thank you in advance for your assistance
What brand of blades do you find are best for carpet to fit the dolphin knife? Ive found Sweeny todds quality has gone down over the years. OX make some decent ones. What do you use?
I prefer the Roberts trimmer The deal with carpet trimmers is you have to get used to them you can feel the sweet spot when you are pushing the down a wall. You should cut the carpet with a knife to start the trimmer. If you use the trimmer to start your cuts it dulls the blades fast. Pulling back on the scrap when trimming makes the trimmer cut a lot nicer and makes the blades last longer. If you get used to a trimmer there is no going back to a knife for trimming.
Really like To hear other installers opinions on tools and techniques, thank you for doing these reviews

Great honest review really up to the individual what you use I use the crain trimmer find it fantastic what ever you are used too.
Thanks for sharing. I;ve always used a crain wall trimmer.
I've got a trim master and love it! Such a time saver. If you use superhook blades it won't mark the skirting
Can u give a link for the blades please?
Would this work for artificial turf?

Also why do you only score sisal with the Trim master before using scissors, and why scissors ✂️ ?

@@UKFlooringTV is this an older model? The handle is different
mh54h31 kh4n Dan has modified it himself to suit him. Keep your eye on next weeks review mate 😉
I prefer cutting in by hand. Not knitting base boards. That's the calling card of a butcher. Plus I hate changing the blades on wall trimmers
