    I may have discovered a new way to make running a row easier. Instead of pushing my Orcon row finder straight ahead I’ve started pushing it forward and then pull it back as if it’s snagged and push it forward then pull it back and run the row like that. I seem to stay in the row easier by doing it this way and actually don’t get snagged up.

    Just curious, how do you work a row when the forklift driver smashes and warp/wrinkles the ends of the carpet roll?? Hard to run a straight row with that.

    Is it best to go in the direction of the pile or against it? Or does it matter?

    Im a DIYer, after watching this video a couple times and practicing, I can’t get this consistent on my carpet. Best way I found to match to a row is to just free-hand cut along the far side of the line along the back (I have a very steady hand).
    This seems to match up with the rows just as well, since the rows are bonded to the line. it’ll probably take longer.

    What side of the top rowcutter do you put the blade on. Left side for left cut right side for right cut? Or is it different?

    • @champ8767
      @champ8767 5 місяців тому

      Put the blade on the side that is going to be the seam edge of the carpet. 👍

    Whenever I run a row the carpet is never straight edges end up being wavy and it won't fit together lapped and gapped to much and I know I'm running on a straight row so i end up straight edging it and it fits together much better sometimes its dead on accurate seams are invisible I can't get the material to but together as well wene I'm row cutting as wene I straight edge it any thoughts?

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys 5 місяців тому +1

      You are exactly right, nine times I’m a 10 you will be able to budget together better if you straight edge it . If you want to keep the one on that carpet that you do, bro cut it and the manufacturer will expect you to manipulate the carpet as you’re putting the same together to make it right. There are tolerances that the manufacturer will receive the carpet back if it’s too bad that that don’t happen whole lot. I think the tolerance is one and a half inches in a 12 foot length.. It is a little extra work but once to get used to doing it and just feels like the better way to do it. I used to always straight edge things as well.

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys

      Carpet is made in Rows just like corn is planted. The space between each row of fibers is called the gauge. That is what I am explaining how to find in this video.
