My former Persian girlfriend left an entirely different impression on me, she was extremely intelligent, very career focused and surprisingly insightful regarding her own personality, most people have beliefs about themselves which often contradict their true nature. She did have a temper that was only surpassed by her beauty, her makeup use was very restricted and overall she preferred simplicity. We separated on excellent terms and still communicate, I do miss discussing politics with her in the morning. From reading the comments I can only confirm two common traits she had, temper and jalousi but these are hardly Persian only traits.

Yes. I did not grow up in a rich, wealthy, or well-to-do family. I struggled financially, until I moved in with my now fiance. Without him, I'd be below the poverty line. In my experience, the Persian girls who required a mate or partner be wealthy before engaging in any sort of relationship with, were girls who were accustomed to a life of luxury, and were not taught good values. The girls who were not raised in such an environment, were appreciative of their partners, and more apt to accept others who were walking different financial paths.

This took me back about 45-years to when I was living in Iran. Everything I saw seems to be exactly like Persian women I knew as friends. I found Persian women to be very refined, polite, and nice. I thought they were all princesses. Most looked like models. At times, I found Persians who drank tea did so with a cube of sugar or a piece of hard candy in their mouth. I still drink tea that way. The way Persians cook rice is to die for. It is that good. Persian food is really good. Find a Persian restaurant in your area and explore. I just made myself really hungry writhing about Persian food. As an American, I want the world to know how nice, friendly, and smart the Persian people are. They are wonderful people to know and not as Americans have been led know them.

I'm a Turkish girl and i had so many İranian flat mates, room mates, class mates etc.. This is so true! God, i loved that burnt rice. You forgot some things like how looong hours they talk on the phone and they share every details on the phone. They like to be attractive all the time. They surely love partying! Oh, the food they make for home parties (usually it's their mom who make the food)? Dayum! They go to shopping pretty much everyday. And they seem lazy as a student but they always get the higher grades. They are smart in general i think. And when you say Persian, i say chickpea flour. I LOOVE their small dessert (forgot the name) they make with chickpea flour, butter, sugar and pistachio! I want it!

I was in Iran last year with my Iranian girlfriend. Very beautiful country, people are very friendly and their hospitality is incredible.
Super good food for very low prices, we went to a fine restaurant with 10 people and the total bill was € 40,-.
Women are very beautiful. In the streets they have to cover up but at home they take off the scarf and wide clothing and then they are very modern and well dressed ladies. Such a pity these people have to suffer because of the regime and the boycots.

For people, who want to know about iranian woman - here are some points, based on my own experience.
General info: she was half persian, half osetian (Caucausis). We were both below 30 age. We dated 2.5 years. ATTENTION: this is only my experience, but from some of my friends/buddies we had +- similar experiences.
Here are the points:
1) They are obsessed with their beauty/social status/wealth (closer to extreme lvls);
2) They can IMITATE modesty, like hell, they do it pretty well. But seemelessly for you they will escalate their demands pretty quickly;
3) Man is an absolute provider. Always. And please, don't read this comment like I am bitter person. The concept of helping her man, when it is needed (no, not doing things solely on her own, but helping) is unnatural and just unnacceptable for her. She won't listen to your explanations, don't waste your time arguing;
4) You must act (or be) very masculine all the time. You can forget about having feelings, which are not considered manly. In this case, you will be deemed "weak" in no time;
4) They are VERY high maitnance. But god, it was the craziest sex I had in my life. Can't even describe in words, how great it was. The joke about "you won't fuck HER, she will fuck YOU is just a total truth here.
5) She can "play" a submissive role pretty well, but don't be fooled: the temper is there.
6) Image of modesty of her character in the early stages of relationships, dramas - later on.
7) They are VERY posessive and jealous. V E R Y. 1 time we just waited in cinema hall for a movie to start. And guess what, 1 girl just looked at me for like 2 secs and my GF caught her eyes on me. I thought, she would literally murder here right there.
8) They are very pationate about intimacy in general;

13) They demand to be treated like queens and they WILL treat you like a king, BUT BEWARE of p. 1, 2, 3, 4. The switch off will be immediate.
14) They are mostly unorganized and undisciplined in general. It MAY seem at first, like they are. But it is only a facade.
15) Maby you will be surprised, but at the same time they are matriarchs mostly (unfortunately, not in terms of responsibilities).
TL;DR: If you are wealty (and can sustain it), high maitenace, masculine, you want to have craziest fucking sex in the world, are willing to provide always, regardless of circumstances, you openly/secretely crave for drama, you like good food and you appreciate outer beauty - hop on!
In my case, these things were too much for me to handle.

I remember the first time I was given tadiq. I thought the restaurant had poor quality control or maybe I'd offended the waitress somehow. It is amazing how differences in culture can cause something that would be considered generous and thoughtful to be percieved as thoughtless and even offensive. It wasn't until later, when cooking a special meal with some Persians, that I realized how much one should give the benefit of the doubt when one doesn't understand a culture...and how much Persians like tadiq.
