My dad is Iranian and he died last week. Growing up he always said these things to me and as a non-Farsi speaker I never knew what exactly they meant. I’m writing my funeral speech for tomorrow and I wanted to mention some of these sayings. Thank you for this. I would give anything to hear my dad say: joon am, dooset daram, azizam, ghorbonet bedam, etc. to me again. 💔
I‘m Polish and my boyfriend is Persian, he would always use the English translation for these things and thanks to ur video I can understand it better why he uses it like that 😂 it’s so cute, love your videos
My persian eshgham he say to me every one of this expressions OMG!!!! 🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️ for me as a Mexican this is soooo sweet!!! I was so happy to be able to understand everything and I just start learning Farsi..
From a biochemist perspective: the liver (jigar; جگر) is the organ that does everything for you, processing all the metabolic paths almost all cells in the body need to function (the heart and brain rely heavily on it)! In my first biochemistry class, our professor told us: “love your liver because your liver loves you” haha
Omg 😳 in Serbian we say "jetra" if we want to say liver, but when we want to eat roasted chicken livers we call them џигерице (džigerice) which sounds a lot like little Jigar-s 😳

Merci dadashi! Khaili khoob car mikoni 😂 I would say my favourite expression is Ghorbonet baram… i say it to my girl and Maman, it shows love without being so bold as to say Duset daram.
I am crazy about an Iranian woman I work with, I am sure she knows I like her and I think she likes me too. She is so kind to everyone, I can make her laugh easily, and she approaches me to talk often. She asks me, "Do you have time?", then proceeds to tell me of her struggles, her worries etc. I tell her I have all the time in the world for her and I listen closely to every word. The other day she seemed impressed when I tried introducing myself in Farasi, then complimented me on how well I spoke. I am torn, I want to ask her out but don't want to make things awkward. Should I try learning casual conversation in Farasi, and perhaps begin lightly flirting with her that way? I have known her for one year now, any help would be appreciated!
jigaram is basically the same in Turkish as well Ciğerim i will sacrifice myself for you is also in Turkish but the words are totally different. My grandmom would say it and my mom would say it especially when you do something unbelievably gallant or cute. Later in life I flipped the script and started saying it to my mom. the 11th one "golam" is also basically the same "gülüm" but instead of meaning "my flower" it means "my rose"
