"um... actually" Torchwood Season 2 was aired on BBC Two, after season 1 was aired on BBC Three. It got upgraded to BBC One with Season 3 onwards.
Tbf, all my complaints about Chibnall just mysteriously evaporated as soon as I saw William Russell in _The Power of the Doctor_
Really? You had _fewer_ complaints after he brought a 97 year old man to a film set during a pandemic? Someone who's had persistent rumors of mental decline?

@@TempoKong I mean, I'm not saying that Chibnall is the worst person ever and he killed my family. But it's a fact of life that no matter how safe you think you are, during a pandemic there's still substantial risk. And, again, persistent rumors of mental decline. Other actors were telling "cute stories" of how they had to help tell him his lines on set, and it was just deeply uncomfortable when you've heard the murmurs.

@@neilstavern Nah, I legitimately think this was a sketchy thing to do. I get why fans liked it. But I'm not thrilled. (Similar to how PotD was a ton of _fun_ but the actual story was incoherent.)
Excellent stuff, I've only watched Torchwood through once, so it's good to be reminded of how good it could be sometimes.
Big Finish has done a lot with extending Torchwood, both beyond Miricle Day and in the Victoria Era, and although RTD would probably be respectful of the EU, I still don't wanna get some of BF's Torchwood stuff reconned.
The edit of the Doctor Who Movie and that Torchwood scene video is wild.
Alternate Torchwood sequel team pitch: Gwen Cooper, Luke Smith, Charlie Smith, Ashildr, and a new POV character (as well as Andy and Rhys, obviously). Gwen plays the mentor role that Jack filled and Ashildr provides the morally dubious immortal character. Also maybe Yaz and a once more returned Suzie. Is this a serious pitch or a joke pitch? Who knows.

You mention Ianto being hinted to die around Fragments - if you read *The Writer’s Tale* that was the original plan. RTD had to tell Burn and Naoko that they wouldn’t be needed for S3 after he chose to spare Ianto instead.

Also, to correct you on a broke canon, it is *not* Romana's K9 (K9MKII, as you claim) that is in the Australian K9. It's Leela's K9 (MKI)
@@SamyulDavis honesty you need to do a broke canon on the many deaths of ianto .mainly because of torchwood shrouded written by Gareth David Lloyd and how it retcon and recontexulises the first two series etc and makes it more tragic and weird etc .and it also gives you a massive opportunity to bring him back in a way nobody has bothered with
I definitely wouldn't say Barrowman won't be back. It's inevitable. I'm not a fangirl or anything, but come on, he's hardly gone forever.
They'll recast Jack and bring back John.
The only Torchwood spinoff I'd like today would be

Would a Third Doctor show starring Sean Pertwee as Three and Juno Temple as Jo Grant work? Make it more of a 70's style slow burn Who with modern writers.
Sean’s Alfred was basically 3 if he also had to deal with Gotham. I’d also be interested how a more physical doctor would go over in this day and age especially after all that business with the time war making him almost a pacifist when compared to the 3 who’s hands were rated E for everyone

I got as far as Countrycide and gave up. Tempted at least watch Children of Earth(?) before RTD returns ...
Yeah would seriously recommend Children of Earth after I have been showing my friend to hype them up for RTDs return.
Most of the run time is tension building though, so it might not be everyones thing. Still give it a shot though, Children of Earth is what the rest of the show wished it had been.

Nah, he’s just an actor. He has no other pull on this show. If any of the residuals go to anyone, it will go to the creator RTD, not Barrowman.
Jack taking time to watch the bomb go off doesn’t surprise me. Wouldn’t be a Chibnall episode if it didn’t incorporate a countdown of some sort.
