- In this video, I try a few VR titles to test the controller tracking on the Pimax Crystal, before getting into some final thoughts.

I just want to say thanks for your fantastic Pimax Crystal vids, the're top notch, keep it up!
Much appreciated, thank you!
Thank you for all of your in depth reviews of the various aspects of this headset. Waiting for mine to ship! I’ll primarily use this headset for racing/flight simulation, but it’s good to know that we can adequately play many other types of games as well without purchasing the forthcoming Lighthouse faceplate.
Played over 150 hours and dozens of mods in Alyx, can't believe I've never crushed a can 🤷♂️
First thing I did 😂
good test, this will be really bad for throwing grenades or pulling an arrow back, I remember the G2 is terrible for that too. Looks like it could also be glitchy when arms down by sides, which is most of your placement in a long session of skyrim
I play skyrim. I can have them at my due and use thumbstick no problem. Bringing it up quickly using how and arrow sometimes gets wonky for a sec. Not every time it happens more than it did on G2. Also the headset protrudes more so pulling bow back i was hitting headset. Had to get used to that.
👍🏼🖖🏼
I like the shirt Gary
Hi , may i know hows to use the pimax controller at half life alyx , do i need any speical controller profile ? Spend 3 hours but no luck , Thanks
There’s no special profile. If the controllers are registering in the SteamVR menu then they should work fine in Alyx also.
Thanks finally it work now ! @@ImmersedRobot
are there hand tracking module required for controller tracking?
No, the controllers track through the in built cameras on the headset. The hand tracking module is not required for their use.
do you think you'll end up getting the lighthouse face plate?
I doubt it, only because I don’t currently have any basestations or Index controllers so that will add a lot to the cost right now.
@@ImmersedRobot without the light house face plate this hmd is useless though
Did you delete my message regarding my controller jitter video or was it deleted by youtube?
I didn’t delete it (I’ll only delete spam comments), and I can’t see it in my ‘held for review’ list either (sometimes comments mistakenly get sent to that).
Edit: Did you post a link in your comment? UA-cam will probably be responsible for deleting it if that's the case, as it won't always allow you to post links in other people's video comments (not sure why).
@@driflysh4597 Sorry to hear that. Maybe contact UA-cam support, as that’s a weird situation.
not that my opinion matters but pimax is trying to do way too much why half the crap does not even work yet like standalone for the price its at it should have been steamvr tracked off the bat so my money went to ordering bigscreen beyond. Things should be bought for what they are today not on some future promise it will get updated and things will be turned on...
I agree that the SteamVR option should have been available for those who want it at launch. But I do think that having the headset capable of tracking effectively without the need for basestations or other controllers is an overall value-add in my opinion (not that it matters). For those interested in the Crystal for sim-gaming then I'd argue the lack of the SteamVR tracking requirement is actually a huge benefit. But if you're more into general VR gaming, then the controller tracking probably needs to improve in the Crystal imo.
I'm interested in the Bigscreen Beyond myself, and as an upgrade for those who already have basestations and Index controllers, I think it's a great option. For those who don't have those items already, then it's a good option.
If I still had my basestations and Index controllers, then I'd seriously be looking at the Bigscreen too. As it is, it's just something I'm keeping my eye on for now while I play primarily simulation/seated VR titles in the Crystal.
