Pimax is honestly the only vr company thats really pushing the boundaries for VR visuals
Pimax decides to go where others do not venture, they make the difference on a technological level and listen to their customers to constantly innovate. This is great and deserves to be highlighted.
Hi OP, with this comment you've won a 50% off discount coupon, please reach out to jaap@pimax.com to receive it!
This is honestly one of my favourite events of the year, always so much fun seeing what Pimax come up with!
This is your favorite event of the year? This? Be serious. You can't think of ANYTHING else huh? 😅 cap.
@@DustyBootMcGee Yeah, VR is my main passion and interest so like I said this is one of my favourite events of the year. Obviously I mean within the VR space but I don't think it's that strange, there aren't many VR announcements as wild as pimax!
I know right!!!!!
lets go!
Hi, could you please reach out to jaap@pimax.com you've won a Crystal Light!
Definitely one of the highest quality headsets currently on the market.
Wow, Pimax have listened to customers and now identified the market. The new range is outstanding and covers every taste, need, and budget. An excellent and professional presentation too.
Somnium following in their foot steps
Thank you!
@@andyclement40somnium is definitely listening but their price point is not comparable to these headsets especially the super

Love VR, keep innovating and supporting this future tech. Looks great for Simulator work
Crystal Light looks great. VR has been a game changer for flight sims, and Pimax seems to be really pushing the tech forward!
This is a wonderful evolution of the headset! thank you for listening to our feedback and making these changes.

@@PimaxVRyou screwed up guys why no eyetracking
@@martales8563 with eye-tracking on Light, we wouldn't be able to cut the cost even nearly as much as we did.
@@SweViver guys we wanted a crystal with no batterie no ipd motors no xr chip , we dont care if its 1000 usd its still better than the crystal , i tried runing the crystal on my rtx 4070 in the past with no dfr i ended up selling it and prefered my pico 4 since dfr came back i was wanting to get a pymax again but it was too expensive the pymax light got me supeer exited but when i red no eye tracking i was so disapointed , as even with an rtx 4090 frames are way too low in dcs and other sims on the pymax ,you have te reduce the res and in that case a quest3 is a faaar better alternative as it has a lot more features better quality control and is way cheaper , t sound frustrated cause i love vr and i want you guys to evolve in a good direction thats itand i cannot figure out why you keep making bad desisions
@@martales8563 well, too bad if you picked the crystal, you should've waited for the crystal super in that sense, i will honestly wait for the 12k super if they remove that ass battery and xr2 useless chip
I'm building an f-18 simpit right now, and i'm so hyped to add this to my setup!
Pimax is getting closer and closer to human vision PPD values with the new Crystal Super headset...very exciting! The Crystal Super at 50 PPD and 130 degrees horizontal FOV will smash the competition and become the reference HMD in the VR HMD market place. Good job Pimax!
It basically matches the Apple Vision Pro specs except gives us gamers the support and compatibility we need
This thing looks incredible... way ahead of everyone else, always pushing the limit.
As always, Pimax will surprise us! 😍
Genuinely a very fascinating take on the VR experience, I look forward to seeing where this goes!
Can't wait to see what Pimax is dropping :D
Sure asf isn't the price 😂 but it very much so should be.
the crystal light seems pretty fairly priced
Amazing, you guys are really revolutionizing the VR market!
Crystal Super, what a nice product
I honestly can't even begin to fathom the quality of this headset 😍
I always avoided the Pimax headset, but this time I felt that there will be something great and for me it is Crystal Light, for its price and features it is in my opinion the best device for immersive simulation. You said you listened to your fans and I feel it and now I am your new fan.
This is exactly what we’ve been waiting for!!! Can’t wait to get a Crystal Light!!!
Crystal light looks like a really good option, maybe an opportunity to upgrade from my index.
I think a lot of people are going to be upgrading to the light
That's exactly what I was thinking. Upgrade from Index, I might splurge a little and go for the Super though.
Wow thank you for the opportunity to win such an awesome piece of technology. It will really transform my simming experience.
I look forward to seeing what you are bringing to the market!
It is awesome to see someone finally make a proper PCVR-only headset!
The Pimax Crystal was always good but now its even better😂Make that your Pimax motto.
They will probably do the obvious and shrink it.
Bist Du jetzt Pimax Fan? 🤣
@@stagrov8086 Ich bin Fan von jedem Display Port VR Headset 🤣
the pimax crystal was advertised to be in a smaller shell, but they did the normal pimax thing lie and kick the half broken product out the door.
@@crimsom2977 The Crystal turned out great, try it out. You can see it for yourself in a roadshow. Your doubts will quickly be locked in the basement. They have improved a lot in terms of software etc.
This was genuinely insane. I wasn't expecting true full quality wireless VR to come within the next 5 years or so, and Pimax just does it now. And alongside that they also make the first worthy upgrade over the index?? W event
Finally I can upgrade my old index 😂
I think for the price and specs this is a worthy upgrade over 90% of the headsets on the market right now

W EVENT INDEED
Virtual gaming is really getting better each year. Looking forward to the future of gaming.
New headsets incoming. Excellent.
very cool to have something good that is affordable to more people
I purchased an 8k x in December, 2021 because the pimax 12k qled was announced and there was a trade-in deal announced to upgrade to the 12k qled on launch that would get you the ammount you paid for your 8k x off of the price for the 12k qled. and it sounded like the 12k qled would be coming out late 2022. we're now in q2 2024 and so far pimax has announced and shipped the pimax crystal, the pimax portal, and now announced a second generation of pimax crystal here today. Mr. Weng did note (very quickly) that the 12k is still in development and that there would be a blog post soon, but we've received this same note in all of the major pimax announcements over the past few years. I'm starting to feel like i've been had.
I did the same. Bought a crystal due to the wait. Wont buy anything else till the 12k now, the crystal I bought arrived broken, and, took 2 months to get a refund. They seem to be doing money grabs, guess the 12k development got too expensive and they promissed too much too early.
Let's just say 12K is ready for release tomorrow. When you bought it, you'll find out that your computer graphic card cannot run it and the DP port is not 2.1. So, it's pointless. Now, I understand why they're not releasing it now. What I don't understand is how they treat the earlier adopters making them wait that long for the trade-in. There has to be some kind of incentive announcement and let the people who are waiting to move forward and buy the Crystal with discount or something.
@@reptilexcq2 Total bunk. The resolution of the 12k is not a factor that would prevent us from using it basically as advertised. This would amount to 12k x 6k if it really rendered at that (which it probably really doesn't). You can easily render at a lower res and use eye tracking that is now well established on the crystal. Your argument is just wrong and giving them excuses not to honor a promise that a whole bunch of us fell for. A lie is a lie plain and simple.
The resolution could also be dense near the center and fall off dramatically with the huge fov where it would be difficult to tell. The effect of eye tracking would be vastly more dramatic than it is on the crystal because most of the 12k's fov is peripheral.
@@techfun123 You may be right. But I suspect that with bionic lenses, they have a problem figuring out how to make eye tracking work with combined lenses.
One thing i dont like and makes.me.not teust them is they barelt mention the 12k... And push other products. I really dont feel like theybwill honor the trade in.
Followed Pimax for a long time, can't wait to someday get my hands on one, they're simply the best in the field.
looking forward to the Super
I'm grabbing a light in the mean time to upgrade from my quest 3. But if the super / 12k are really what they are marketed as I will probably upgrade later along with my graphics card haha. Need a 5090 to release soon
Finally The light version! Thanks Pimax

I have the Quest 3 but the Crystal Light is a must buy. That resolution, the DispayPort, better FOV and the price is what I've been waiting for all these years.
Agreed the DisplayPort is a gamechanger coming from the quest 3
I can't wait for my first VR experience!!!
If this is the 12k im beyond hyped to hear its out
It's not, it's kind of a crystal 2.0 thing. 12k of course absent from event.
@@techfun123 I would also like to know when 12k is really comming!!

Bad ass, I would love this, especially when flying in VR. Cannot beat a PiMax.

Im pretty sure it will
The pimax will be a game changer for my DCS World experience 🤩
Congratulations Martin and the rest of the pimax team. You guys went absolutely ham with the exchangeable lens system and I love it.
So the 57 PPD is an optional lens to buy right? 57 PPD is theater on your face levels of pixel density. If you guys sell enough of these developers are going to have to update their games with much better textures lol.
Congratulations and I'm so happy for you guys.
In case you don't remember me it's VRGIMP27 from The pimax Forums
Yea it seems like the 57ppd is the micro oled lens on the super
Pimax has to be the best vr system on the market
I don't understand why people want 12k right now when a 4090 still can't run a Quest 3 smoothly in a lot sims/VR titles at max settings. I hope that the rumor is true and that they are releasing a stripped down Crystal soon (lighter/cheaper and with no standalone crap) and a micro-oled headset in the future. They also need to make things right with those customers that bought one of their headset expecting a credit on a 12k.
Certainly not for the resolution, you can still reduce it, but for the fov, A Crystal without stand alone but with the fov of at least the 8kx would already be something
@@adrenalinejunkie3828 I want all the eye candy running at least at 90 fps and sometimes DFR and a 4090 is not even enough on my lower res Quest Pro. Don't get me wrong I really want eye tracking on every new headset as It's a real game changer for some titles but I hope that gets to a point where it's a simple toggle.
Because it's the only headset I can trade in my pimax 8k+ they refuse to fix and won't replace even for money.
@@simracingjunky9679 Its getting silly, many people with these high end headsets having to down sample & then run ASW 100% of the time. I don't need oversized FOV either. Just a headset that a 4090 can run at native resolution, nice & comfortable & good inbuilt sound.
@@SneakyJoeRu You should get a credit on the 3 headsets they just introduced today to be fair but if it was me I would never give another dime to a company that won't even support a product that you are willing to pay to get fixed.
The vr was a game changer for me, I couldn't play without now
I Absolutley love my crystal highly recommended
Do you use it to play more movement based games like contractors, the walking dead and blade and sorcery?
If so does it feel heavy when looking around quickly and hard to use bows with its huge faceplate.
@@mohammedalghamdi3737 The weight shouldn't be a problem on the Crystal Light as it weighs 310 grams less than the Crystal.
Almost a pound lighter is really crazy
VR has come a long way! Looks pretty cool!
Im so excited for the crystal super! Pre ordered now. This will be my first vr system! I can't wait.
What happened to the 12k qled and pimax's offer to part exchange our 8kx for it? Can we still part exchange our 8kx for the crystal super at least?
Probably not, I can buy pimax 5k super for $400 at Mercari website so if i buy it and trade in for Crystal Super with $399 discount and then i sell 5k super at ebay for $400? Pimax is no dummy. Only Crystal owners deserve it since lot of them bought it not too long ago
When 12K is released, you will have to exchange 8KX + one of your kidneys to get that headset due to inflation.
Pimax is the New reference in the world of vr! I’m really impressed ! Thank you for this video ! Now i’m dreaming to change my g2 to a Crystal light!
Crystal Micro oled + lighter. Succes!
Love your work guys, I had no idea such quality was possible

If Super Qled version have bloom problem like Crystal, can you at least have more local dimming setting instead of only 3? I hope you read my comment and tell pimax team
vr is gonna be insane in a couple of years
I would like my Crystal wide lenses to arrive. 1st batch buyer, still no wide lenses. I have no confidence of Pimax to ship. Took all this time to just get 72Hz. You can’t even get the lenses, no available new top straps to buy. Appreciate your enthusiasm but you can’t fulfill your orders .
+1
Seriously, I'm pretty excited about this!
We took down the website!
Pimax gang goes strong!
I can't imagine how amazing is the experience to play using the Crystal Light.
Ok so still no 12k that totally sucks I really want to trade in my 8kx for the 12k but if Pimax thinks I’m going to buy a crystal in between I’m not going to so very disappointed about this 😕
"not going to be very disappointed"? Or you mean you're disappointed.
@@reptilexcq2 I mean I’m very disappointed because there still isn’t any release date on the 12k because I don’t want no crystal no super I want the 12k
@@johndam2042 it's very hard to design excellent lenses for the ultrawide FoV of the 12K. Plus, there's little point in releasing it until GPUs can drive the likely 2 x 5760 x 3240 resolution at 90Hz minimum. Even with DFR and other tricks that's pretty much not doable with an RTX4090 today I think ...
@@Kryojenix hey I ain’t the one promising all this shit they did over a year ago so don’t be like I don’t understand this I do. But youknow
This might finally be what I was waiting for in VR in DCS!
No 1: Stop trying to make Standalone Headsets. This won't ever happen in an acceptable way and you are not good at it. This is a fantasy that just hurts your business.
No 2: Scrap inside out tracking and stick with Lighthouse. It is better and more precise, more privacy respecting and also "lighter"; which leads to point 3:
No 3: Your Headsets got steadily heavier. It would be maybe time to go into the other direction.
You have everything to become really successful the only thing holding you back is your management
Inside out tracking is essential, and the most requested feature from Pimax. I would never consider a headset without inside out tracking. Lighthouses are outdated tech.
You know that the most successful headsets are standalone, right?
totally disagree - inside out is the way to go for sure. lighthouse is a massive hassle to setup and use.
I can understand your frustration, but I do appreciate that they gave me the option to do everything. I use lighthouse for precision beat saber and the inside out for UEVR games like Crash Bandicoot (no need to turn on base stations when just looking around and using an Xbox controller, flight stick, or racing wheel). However base stations and lighthouse tracking is far from outdated, and the only tracking tech with super precision beyond the headset cameras. The options made me a fan of pimax. I can't wait for their wireless, and will definitely get the 12k when it arrives.
Agree with no standalone. But screw the lighthouse. I don't wanna buy those expensive base stations
Looks good, best of luck to everyone.
I follow your company with admiration, but this 60 GHz frequency scares me a bit. When it comes to frequency and wavelength, we are getting closer to the microwave range of the spectrum. The positioning of the device is just above the brain's sphere. Can we learn if any studies have been done on the device and its safe use?
Studies found if you play longer than 3 hrs under 60Ghz, you may turn into zombies and start hacking people with knives and hammer.
@@reptilexcq2 I asked the question for the preservation of healthy minds, not for individuals to answer when it is too late for them.
It's such a high frequency it's at such low power it's hardly going to penetrate any skin layers. We aren't talking about high power pulsed microwave beam closer to the resonance of any part of your body.
@@marcusdamberger Well. I think there is no difference between cooking with high fire and cooking with low fire. Can you put forward a scientific study to prove this argument? As you know, the issue is not that it is close to brain tissue, but that it is close to any human tissue.
You have subatomic particles tearing through your body every few minutes
Best new vr in the business for sure
Oled would be nice. No standalone would be nice. 12k would be nice.
12k, better buy the $3000.00 5090 and be ready to reduce resolution. 🙂
Standalone is needed for wireless no? Wired sucks, imaging using your phone wired. Imagine your laptop being stuck to a wall charger, imagine your Nintendo switch needing a cable to the wall or a massive power bank to just run for 8+ hours. We need at the VERY least support for wireless, and the standalone support means the processor can assist in other areas, it's probably needed.
If you're using your vr headset in the same way you use a laptop or phone or nintendo switch, buy a quest 3. The Pimax is more akin in usage to a high powered desktop computer than it is any portable options. The nintendo switch is a good example honestly, because its underpowered compared to its competitors because of its need for portability.
@@JohnnyADiStandalone = inferior resolution, refresh, and FOV + heavier weight.
@@jacobcook245 that is one of the biggest lies I've ever heard. Adding a processor has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with resolution if its intent isnt to actually be used as a standalone headset and rather uses the processor for other things to lighten the power required to run it. Has nothing to do with refresh rate or FOV literally at all as the quest has 120hz refresh, and FOV has 0 revelations to internal processing as that's a lens and display thing, and the weight isn't that much heavier if it's supposed to be wireless anyway, it needs a way to be wireless which already needs a battery, which the fans and an apu are significantly lighter than FYI.
You are delusional and have questionable IQ.

Good to see one company pushing the VR headset space forward without getting more expensive generation after generation.
So stoked to hear that PiMax partnered with my favourite sim racing community, Euroracers. Amazed with your products, and excited to see where it goes from here
The fact that they were able to bring all the technology to a light weight, and PCVR headset for $699 is pretty mind blowing. It’s definitely still a pretty penny, but save money for 6 months and you are at the top of the food chain with VR headsets.
looks like Pimax is headed in the right direction!
Looks like a true visual representation
Looks like everything I've ever wanted in a VR headset.
I've been following Pimax for quite some time now. It's unbelievable, the quality of their HMDs and relatively affordable for the FOV and Resolution that you get.
