    Only discovered this youtube channel a short while ago, and must say fantastic video content, exceptionally well explained, with great and relevant content. Please don't ever go down the route others have with the 'cartoon like' facial expressions for every new content released. Real golfers want exactly the type of info and feedback that each of your video's give.

    Thanks for the 80mph test. I'm in that slow swing speed category and have my Callaway Epic max driver adjusted up +2 to 12.5. I may have to test it a notch or two down.

    I learned everything I could about drivers and fitting, and tried to use TopTracer Range to get my launch in between 12-14 with a regular 150-155 ball speed. Had a TSi3 with a Ventus blue Velocore and had my dispersion down to 25 yards left and right, then the season came along, and I got fearful and bought a Ping off the rack lol

    What a great video and so much great important information for all of us tinkerers, I'll take all this on board for next time I'm practicing.
    Just gone to a longer shaft with my new driver and it feels heavy so maybe a need to shorten it closer to my previous driver ⛳

    I enjoyed this, educational.
    I've matured, since played 17 years ago, now retired, now 65, swing speed reduced heaps.
    Problem is I was so used to a feel that so familiar to me.
    So that's my feel.
    Got fitted for new irons and driver.
    I don't know where the bloody head is in the swing.
    Feel has got to be everything.
    I couldn't care if I hit 5 yards less, as long as my feels are good.
    Good feels equals confidence and consistency, changed my old clubs thinking I could get better, only got worse.
    Obviously the club fitter is inexperienced.
    Now I have to find someone that knows thier stuff, bit where, anyhow more money

    Another great video Ross. Unfortunately, when you go into a normal golf shop , especially here in Spain, they just try and sell you what is the stock standard. I will definitely look at getting a proper fitting ( possibly with you ! ) when I am allowed to change my Ping G425 Max 12” driver.

    Being able to adjust how open or closed the face is is the real beauty of tm drivers , loft you can do with your grip .
    The real deal is being able to hit driver whatever the loft or lie , until you can do that no amount of fiddling really helps but when you can a fine tune is a massive bonus .
    Its taken me years to get comfortable with driver and my swing .
    Only now do i think a fitting could benefit me .

    in relation to fade biased clubs, I have a S2+ @ 10.5*... I was fit to a 10.5* w/ 1 click lower, as the testing head looked a bit closed.The one that was shipped to me was very square looking, put it 1 click lower and just wasn't feeling it. Put it back to 10.5* and flipped it to the upright setting after cutting it down .75" and it's been money ever since. Looked at changing the grip but I've always liked the stock Z-grip, so I left it alone. I added 6g back in post cut and made it too heavy, D5.5. Put the original back in at D2.5ish, felt a little light but it seems to be working. Also, was fit to an X but got a deal on an S, ended up swinging 3-4mph faster. So kind of hitting on all the mistakes you mentioned, lol.... Love your content, keep it up!

      Shaft weight over flex... called Fujikura to discuss the S vs X, they said being a tweener (108-111mph) that im probably loading the S better and they recommended leaving it alone.

    I,m currently using sim2 max 10.5 head lowered by 3 settings as you say normally opens the clubface but I have lowered the loft by using the upright range of settings which counteracts the open face and am able to get a pretty straight ball flight with my delivery. 90mph club speed with 130 ball speed distance depends on strike and angle of attack.

  • @nickhulsing9764
    @nickhulsing9764 6 місяців тому

      Another question - I'm a 10 handicap and constently working on improving my swing. I always wonder if I need to "wait" to be fitted for a driver until my swing is consistent. But I am always working on improving, so it will probably always keep changing, if ever so slightly. When do you recommend players go get fitted?

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  6 місяців тому +1

      That's a tough one to be honest! It depends on how much your swing change will impact the club you would be fitted into. Which is hard to know without going and seeing someone to be honest but the biggest things from a delivery perspective would be angle to attach and path. Say for example you are hitting down on the driver but are working on hitting up on it. Only get fitted when you are in the spot you want to be in. And similar with path to be honest. I think in terms of consistency we are always going to be less consistent that we would like so have to bite the bullet at some point and go for it 👍

      Hey Greg! That's brilliant thanks for the support! To be honest that's a really hard one to answer as everyone will be different. But I wouldn't add any weight to begin with and see how you go and see how it feels. If you are struggling with strike then maybe buy a +2, +4 and +6 gram weight and get testing. Probably wouldn't add anymore than the 6 grams

    Super informative, I have a stealth 2 plus and have been having issues with fade to slide with this driver. Which I didn't have with my R1 prior to this. I think I need to find someone to assist me in getting it setup. I love how the ball comes off the head but would like to get to a draw ball flight over the fade.

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  6 місяців тому

      Glad you found the video helpful 👍 and yeah there will be ways of helping but the Stealth 2 Plus is naturally a very fade bias driver so you are starting at a point of disadvantage. Try and get some lighter weights off eBay for the head, that is likely to help, generally reducing headweight makes it easier to square the face. Also shorter / lighter shafts. Anything to help you release the club better and get that face squarer at impact 👍

    • @epgolfstudios

      I'll certainly think of something I can do that would be a worthwhile video for that yes. Although the biggest benefit would come from just changing your angle of attack, as gaining distance through equipment when you have a negative AOA it tough. Normally I tell people to just go on work on it as that will have far more benefit than changing driver

  • @canuck_gamer3359
    @canuck_gamer3359 6 місяців тому

    I have had the opposite experience personally. I have a slow swing speed, mostly due to badly injured right leg (right handed golfer). My best drives were barely 200 yards at about 76-78 MPH. I was using a driver with 10.5 loft and I noticed that my ball didn't get into the air as much as I thought it should, or as much as some of the guys I play with who were my age and skill level. I used the adjustment wrench and moved it to 12. Although I don't get as much roll out now as I did before, I do hit 220 yard drives fairly often. Not sure how this applies to the faster swing speeds, but if you're a slower speed like me, I'd get a second opinion before buying into this.

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  6 місяців тому

      It all depends on what your angle of attack is. Regardless of speed, if you are hitting like 6/7* up on the ball you won't need loft to help you launch the ball. And for lower swing speeds that's the best way to increase your distance. If you start to hit up on the ball more then that's where you create the launch angle from, the higher the better, as long as the spin is in the right window. That's where fitting comes in. If you need 12* to get any sort of launch then you won't be hitting up on the ball that much, or you're a bit of a handle dragger which results in too little loft at impact. But you're right the only way people will know what applies to them is going and getting fitted and at least getting on a launch monitor to see how you deliver the club 👍
