      It has been 3 months now. How has the progress been since this session? As I am one who struggles with out to in path, with a club speed ~93-94 mph. That's why this video resonates with me so strongly. Did you find the warmup with the speedstick useful?

    This was brilliant. I so enjoyed seeing a normal everyday golfer improving so much in such a short space of time. Gives us all hope for the future. I’m working on my speed just now but obviously delivery is a huge factor. Incredible improvement, well done.

    This has got me wanting to go the range!! I definitely feel I am steering the club too much, I can get that letting go feeling when I do a practice swing but can't get it on a real swing, but this video just shows how much I need to - great watch 👍

      Just stop worrying about strike and direction for a while (on the range!) And start experimenting out of your comfort zone a little bit and try some extreme feels. You'll be surprised what you stumble on 👌👍

    Fantastic video and so much more real than watching elite golfers show us what to do. More of these normal golfer coaching please. I’ve had so many lessons over the last 10 years and never been able to improve that quick like that and still out to in and fading / slicing the ball. Absolute joy to watch. Thank you.

    Great video. The bit about throwing the release early (around the 20 min mark) really helped me. I gave it a try and immediately added about 7-10 mph on my swing (from ~75 to ~85 on 8-6i) and also added ~10 yards in height (from ~20y to ~30y). I wasn't as successful with the driver (yet) but will keep at it a bit and see how it goes. Thanks again!

    I have the same name as him, so it's entirely possible that I go from my usual ~98MPH to something similar after watching this and getting down and dirty with my speed sticks! 🤣
    I love the whip through feel that you've suggested, I'm going to try to implement this, since when I swing it as hard as humanly possible for me, I can only just get over 100MPH. If this helps me loads, i'll definitely be back here to give you kudos!

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  6 місяців тому +1

      I'm sure it will! Just fully commit to letting the club accelerate through impact (feeling like you start to release it quite a bit before impact) almost feel like you're flicking it up round the back of your head feel the speed coming from the release, practise it a little and it will come. Being relaxed is a big key. Don't hold the angles too much at the top of the backswing. Let the club drop behind you and as you start your down swing just really let the clubhead release hard with the wrists 👌

  • @johnk.atchley5079

    Went back to see this again on my PC as opposed to my cell phone. A fascinating session. Apologies if I repeat my comment. But I was especially intrigued by your advice to let the wrists go earlier in the downswing. That seems to contradict a lot of instructions and videos of pro swings that show, or seem to show, their wrists retaining lag until the hands are within inches of the ball. And it seems to create the dreaded early release and flipping. But when combined with the good body turn your demonstrate, which was smooth and flowing, not a violent or exaggerated turn, it made perfect sense. Obviously if you did not turn the result would probably be a snap hook left. But like others here, I can't wait to try this out at the indoor range with launch monitor I go to. Need all the speed I can get as at age 82 things do slow down.

  • @johnatchley9754

    An eye opener. Letting the wrists go earlier as you show seems to contradict most instructions and a lot of videos of pro swings that show, or seem to show, the wrists retaining lag until the hands are within inches of the ball. It seems to be advocating the dreaded flipping and early release. But when combined with the good body turn you demonstrate, not exaggerated or contorting, just flowing through, it makes perfect sense and gets the hands and club head arriving at the ball with maximum acceleration. Obviously if you didn’t turn fully the result would be a snap hook. But like others commenting, can’t wait to try this out myself. I’m 82, 17 hdcp, ball speed 118-124, carry 190-205, and need all the additional speed I can get.

    Very impressed/envious - as a life long left hand dominant, right handed golfer I have always struggled with being sufficiently relaxed to relinquish control to allow my right hand to contribute fully in down swing - any tips/feels greatly appreciated 😊

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  6 місяців тому +1

      Absolutely, sounds silly but just practise hitting shots as relaxed as possible. If you struggle to get the club to overtake you then just hit some drives (not hard at all) and hit them entirely with your wrists, so try to feel no body rotation or turn and just flick some drives down there. Again not far or hard. The more you get comfortable letting the club overtake you and being relaxed in the wrists it will be easier to phase this into your normal full swing. Maybe try and hit little draws while doing this too, letting the right hand get more and more involved

    Love this channel. I tested my swing speed and distances on a simulator today. Driver was around 98-99 mph 220 carry 230-240 total. I think with the right training I could achieve what this gentleman in this video did. Definitely gotta work on my dynamic loft on my irons though. The distance results are not matching the speed

    I have always been told not to throw the angles. I've been trying to hold the face square through impact while rotating the body.
    I'll try this tomorrow on my quad. Do you offer online lessons?

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  6 місяців тому

      In theory that sounds good, but in practise unless you have a very strong face condition and phenomenal rotation then for most amateur golfers that would almost certainly lead to a big right miss (especially with driver) and also create a huge lack of speed. Again it does all come down to the individual but I don't think I would tell many amateurs to do that. No I don't really offer lessons at all to be honest. Maybe some day!

    Would this same swing feeling work on the irons?

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  6 місяців тому

      It really would depend on the player and their tendencies. But in terms of the path always getting the hands down first then turning will help neutralise it or get it more from the inside. Biggest thing with driver Vs irons is set up and weight shift. For irons set up with weight more neutral and make sure we are shifting weight nicely into the lead side as the hands drop down behind you then turn on top of the ball. If you are missing right then yes releasing earlier will help.

  • @discr1709
    @discr1709 4 місяці тому

    Ironically, it was the swing change advice that caused the increase in speed, not the speed training. I find when I swing in to out my club head speed increases significantly compared to swinging out to in.

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  4 місяці тому

      Yes definitely changing the path helped but the big thing was that changing the path enabled him to release the club effectively using the wrists, and that is where most of the speed gain came from 🙌

  • @xBlade173
    @xBlade173 5 місяців тому

    I think the swing fixing had more to do with him gaining distance than using the speed stick. He was just afraid to actually swing through.

  • @wildatheart5832
    @wildatheart5832 4 місяці тому

    I tried every incliding the speed stick and it doesn't work the longest it goes it 250 and its bout to make me sell my clubs im tires of hittong the balll 250 for 4 years now and i donall kind of swimg training, hip explosives training i workout my wrist i do squats im stong as hell theres no reason i hit this beauty hard strike on the center and its flys 235 im getter tired of it and bout to give up I'm tired of hitting it like lpga

    • @wildatheart5832
      @wildatheart5832 4 місяці тому

      And don't say I'm casting the club to early or I don't rotate cause I cast the club at the right time and rotate all the time, I hit beautiful balls but it should be going 20 more yards further, but I see these people who are not that stronger then me or healthier flying the ball 250 on terrible hits and I hit a beautiful ball and it flys 228, I'm about to sell my clubs and ive been shooting around 75 to 78 def breakimg 80 easily. But it doesn't matter if the ball don't go far they say you just need to hit it straight and that's true but straight don't mean shit if you can't fly it pass 270 you can't compete 18 holes of golf like that hitting the ball like a bitch will only keep half your round good I lose over 8 strokes a round cause of distance
