As for the sound of the band currently, they've brought forth new experimental ideas and creativity to their music, rather than sticking to the same formula they'd been milking for so long that it was time for them to expand on that. My man, how is it in bad taste that I don't enjoy autotune like in the intro/chorus, and high school PA system voice effects for the verses? Both of those things aside, it turns into sci-fi pop in the later half. Not that this demo is particularly well done, it's a demo, but it's a lot Easier on the ears. You don't have great taste because you like the new one, just as I don't have it either because I don't like the new one.
They're two completely different songs. Saying one is better than the other is like saying that K-Pop song is better than this Hair Metal songs. Like comparing apples to oranges. Other than those two, every song on the album is amazing. The album as a whole is kinda just a string of random songs, but you can't say that they're bad quality songs individually, because they are almost all expertly composed. It may not be the standard sound of A7X but it isn't a terrible album, people like you and the original commenter like to over-exaggerate your "hate" for the album when in reality it's great (save for a couple songs).
