One is a story where moogles are alive, the other is "The real world" where ced story was written where moogles are dolls from ced story aka. Merch. Also i think that them calling the "Planet" spira is like when europe called europe "The world"
Shinra went to another planet because they consumed Spira's life force. Without Sin to make the energy limitless through death, the planet crumbled and died like Red's grandpa shows you in the "Plane-arium." (South Park joke.)
maybe when you go to one of the sectors there will be a store or stand or something with blitzballs and maybe u can even play that would be so dope to play blitzball again and in a new age
I scrolled through every comment to check if someone spotted the same thing I did but couldn't find anything. I played X before VII and the first time I thought about the relation between them was when Cloud met with everyone in Seventh Heaven's basement. There's a TV reporting the bombing of the reactor and you can see some guy with a mask similar to the Al-Bhed and "SIN" is written on the top right hand corner of the screen. It freaked me out a bit. Can this be evidence?
My theory. Aerith is a descendent of yuna. Look at the wutai continent upside down and look at spiras map its a perfect match! Wutais continent is just spira in lesser detail. The town of wutai is where luca and the mi hen hi road would be. This was all before the other continents were discovered. Sin goes all over the world and not just the spira continent there has to be other humans and intelligent species! The ronsos went extinct at some point. Same with the guado til hojo braught em back, look at the monster sephiroth and cloud see in the flashback, tell me thats not a guado! Awesome video btw 😎
I wouldn't be sure if both worlds does really connect at all, but man, it'll be cool seeing Tidus met Cloud or Zack. They're all fun characters to have all around!
@@rukanrukan6249 mostly, they reject the idea because of the contradiction in original game (PS1), I hope the remake will affirm more that both verses are indeed connected, it took much years ago, so why would we worry that the story will be overlapped?
I was was curious. You made the connection between ffX and ffVII, but hojo in ffVII is talking about a new project that he has not finished yet. Later ffXIII came out and right before you obtains the eden summon, you find out that the ultima weapon was the unfinished project of hojo from ffVII. I always thought that 7 and 8 were connected as well by reading the text inscriptions in the game.
I often wondered about this. I got 10-2 first before 10 for Christmas. I really liked it but didn't finish it and I haven't played much of 10. With this info I'm going grab 10 and 10-2 again. Thanks for all the hard work. 👍
when Sephiroth falls into the Lifestream during the Kalm flashback.. he found in the northern creator inside a large Materia. It is like he became a Fayth switch is why he has like ghost like powers before seeing him there. He is dreaming like the Fayth do in FF10 and summoning himself to do everything we will before then
Apart from the obvious Shinra connection, i know it sounds simple, but the materia and sphere connection seems to always stick out to me, even in Crisis Core (OG and Reunion), when Genesis opened the door with the goddess materia, it reminded me of the sphere system in the Cloyster of Trials, and i never noticed the Farplane and Lifestream connection until now 😅
I always remember how the Shera wasn’t even built by Cid. He found it buried in the ground. It was in some guide somewhere probably about Advent Children, cant remember. So some ancient technology lost in history so advanced and probably used by star faring peoples…hhhmmm? Lol
I didn't know about this theory, but in multiple ways I've always felt that Auron was Cloud, Titus was Chrono, and Wakka was Rand ... But that's just me wishing.
So if Shinra came from Spira to Gaia, does this mean Jenova & Shinra coming are the same event? And Shinra has to censored there involvement by the time of FF7?
@@MegaPaulallan Here is another music connection between the two games, the track Rematch atop the Pillar is a remixed version of A Contest Of Aeons from 10. When the cut scene started and the music started to play, I thought that recognized the music from ten. so I had to paused the game, turn up my TV volume and listen to the track for about 30 seconds to see that if I was right, I was. Another connection between the two games, are one of both Cloud's and Arron's Limit Break/Overdrives called Fishing Touch and Tornado, both of them will make a tornado appear, the only difference between the two is Arron who will throw his jug on to it.

I haven't played ff7r but while watching someone's gameplay I swear I could hear a tiny bit of the music from the Gullwings airship of ffx2 when Cloud walks around in Wall Market
All FF games are connected through the Rift/Void whatever you want to call it, the rift is a space of nothingness, like the true original "universe" and all the multiverses are in it, that's why so many similar things are in every games, multiverses can have similar races and cities and monsters and gods without being the same. Pretty much all games are different dimensions. I just played the FF 16 crossover event in FF14 and the way the short story ends it's clear that somehow Clive managed to cross the rift somehow and appeared in 14. It is extremely loosely connected and most of the multiverses don't interact with each other I think we have the proof of at least 2 characters who are rift walkers. It's obvious. FF14 creators say it's not connected at all but the multiverse theory explain it all to me and i fully believe it.
You don't even need to play 10-2 to see shinra, he's in the far plane in the first one, that's where I noticed it originally, but I always assumed the opposite of the same planet theory, I assumed that jenova was actually from spira, but it makes sense that spira and Gaia are the same, even though the planet has different names, even the earth has different names throughout history Earth, gaea, Terra, etc
I'm inclined to say that the people in the FFX are the so called Cetra from FFVII. Yeah maybe different planets and all, but the connection of summoners to pyreflies are essentially the definition of the Cetra. Well let's just say, and it's pretty obvious now that the 2 stories are connected, meaning they're in the same universe. I was asking myself what hell happens to Sin, because ***spoiler*** Sin returns after X-2. The so called Eternal Calm wasn't eternal after all. Soo... I guess it's safe to assume that if Sin, or some manifestation of it, doesn't exist in FFVII, maybe, just maybe it got defeated. We haven't seen that yet. Soooo that means... FINAL FANTASY X-3 CONFIRMED!
What makes this more believable is in ffx you travel across spira in only a few weeks. And in the game you only see 1 continent. Not things like that do happen but the land mass is usually much bigger. Also look at the top continent in ff7. Its not exact but it does bear a small resemblance to spira.
I think that the closest that the Final Fantasy games can be connected to each other "officially" is the Kingdom Hearts games. Although, their roles and backstories have been altered to fit Kingdom Hearts. In Kingdom Hearts, different "planets" are called worlds. Each world is unique and disconnected from each other where there is a somewhat unspoken rule that the existence of different worlds is to be kept secret to prevent "meddling" (i.e. chaos or worldwide panic). However, their disunity is put into question when you throw Sora into the equation. The different Final Fantasy games could be separate worlds as each world can have its own special rules; however, even this does not account for all Final Fantasy games as some prevent Keyblades, Kingdom Hearts, Hearts/Souls, and Heartless from also existing.
Please tell me your thoughts on why we have no digital versions of the FF VII Movie in English. :( I suspect it's because of the remake and the voice actors I could find the English dub before that game but not after
Ok this theory has been made a fact among the final fantasy community and it makes sense to see that these are connected in so many different ways but one thing that I find puzzling is are the people of 10 And 10-2 ancients, cetra or humans or both bc if they are connected and both timelines are about 1000 years apart then when dose jenova take into play and what about ultima weapon or any of the weapons where they discovered by the ancients or humans And are there any references in ff7 or the remake that revolves around 10 or is there more to this plot
Just wanna throw out there that ff15 has a small connection too 7 aswell with diamond weapon appearing in a cutscene and with a Midgar zolom in a swamp in the world
You could alao lainch far into the future to say the last spheres of light in ff1 are the last few materia left on the planet that has fallen to the end with very few remaining machina left surviving.
I think Nojima is specifically referring to FF7 Remake. Like I think Zack is just minor glimpse at their goal. I wouldn't be surprised if they have Tidus come through a time portal thing and team up with cloud. There's many reasons for Original FF7 to have a sequel. The ambiguous ending was bold and daring but every sequel just diminishes the core theme of the story by simply existing as a sequel. So I wouldn't be surprised if FFX is connected because they already added so much stupid crap into FF7 with Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, and Advent Children. We still haven't seen the full arc of Genesis. Which can only mean they planned this Remake for a very very very long time. I wouldn't be surprised if it was in development when Kingdom Hearts was coming out. That's when you start to see weird things like Cloud's Advent Children outfit in KH2. FF7 story only works because of how it ended. It's honestly the worst series they could've picked for a sequel. That's why you see them constantly misunderstanding what their fans want. Despite Advent Children being very hated it made them a lot of money so to them it was a success and that's why you'll constantly see Advent Children referenced. Think of FF7 like Gaia. Square Enix is trying to strip the Magic away from these games.
So does that mean that the cetra are the people from 10? Or are the cetra the summoners? Were does the ancients and jenova fall in all of this? Answer that question and this will be 100% legit.
This would’ve been a great theory unfortunately Stranger of Paradise and Dissidia confirmed that FF is basically a multiverse with some small connections and similarities
Yeah 7 and 10 and 9 are my favorites I had know idea about the connection and with the ff10 music in the back round this video was kinda emotional lmfao
They connect because it helps sell games. I know that is cynical, but I think that’s why “a little” “True “and Nojima’s “like a 1,000 years later” became canon. I personally think it might be canon, but my head canon will refuse it. Just like I refuse Halo 4-infinite story because it contradicts earlier Halo2/3 scripts or Fall of Reach. People are allowed to make mistakes so no hate towards Nojima/Nomura. I still love FF7 and X to a lesser extent, but taking their games this seriously in lore is missing what is important to the story, some things are better left unaswered
@@DashingDavid an easter egg and lore that points to another game is marketing, same as if a character drinking a coca cola is in a movie is an advertisement
@@catfriendking no. They weren’t saying in trailers for X-2 that “this game connects to FF7. Buy this game please” It’s something for the fans only. People that are buying the games anyways.
@@DashingDavid I never said trailers so why strawman my argument? … It’s a change created by nojima with x-2 and the introduction of the shinra character. Their exact words show they aren’t totally confident in the decision and purposefully vague. X-2 itself has some contradictions with both X and 7 lore. I have a degree in marketing so this is no brainer for me since I learned this stuff. I actually work in the medical field now, but that’s after extra schooling because i wanted more money (i’m 31 and did work in marketing while going to school for several years). There is always a new segment of players who buy a game so self referencing other games in the series does create a rabbit hole which leads to more sales. Hate to say it, but square has often put profit above storytelling (ff7 compilation is hit or miss, not just for me, but many og fans, ask around). Similar to the Halo franchise and its retcons in the books, games, and show…
But this would mean the characters from 10 where the cetra. The stewards of the planet. Which they’re clearly not in the game. That right after defeating sin and vegnegun, jenova comes and wipes them all out. The entire history of 10 is completely forgotten even happened, the planet changes its landmass, the al bhed forget their own language despite becoming the dominant race of people. President shinra and Rufus are also ancients so they shouldn’t even need aerith in the first place. When people die they become and unsent if they’re not sent after death, this just completely stops being a thing for some reason. Literally not a single pyre fly anywhere in Gaia despite the fact there should be lots of them in places like North coral. There’s no materia anywhere in 10 nor does the temple of the ancients exist anywhere. They had more powerful machina over a thousand years prior to 7 which also makes no sense. This whole theory is stupid and had literally not thought put into it at all. For it to be confirmed by the creators is ridiculous.
It's same universe but different planets (Events taking place at different times) But when I decided to look into to fax like this my brain started working. Tidus was eaten by that whale, spitting him out in a different "time" but what if that asshole whale isn't just a time portal. What if Tidus was originally from a different planet before things became corrupt by Shinra, you know before things got out of hand and he could play blitz ball till his hearts content. (Maybe while cloud was a kid or even before he was conceived.) What if when the whale ate Tidus it did it's fair share of damage, left and traveled through time to a different planet and dumped Tidus off somewhere in the far past of ff10's planner along the way as the whale past by. As for the "then how does waka know about blitz ball" question: well the whales appearance and distraction has happened multiple times, safe to say that more then 1 person would have been swallowed up by that giant mouth. Not when Yuna and her people have a tradition that sends her off on a quest ever 100, 1000 years or something. And in that time who's to say that whale didn't pop by or drop people in more secluded areas. Let me know your thoughts on my theory.
I think Tidus was from the past, 2000 years ago prior to Yuna's timeline like what the game had been implied and that's how Wakka knows about Blitzball. But what interesting for me is how some people who rejects this 'connected idea' between ffx and ffvii is because the backward technology... I mean, they said like "if space travel is possible in the past, why can't Shinra Inc. develop it? Why don't we see any space craft and why they had to steal Cid's plane (Tiny Bronco)? ect BUT: Didn't in FFX, Tidus was from the past, but the technology in his era was much advanced than around thousand years later in Yuna's timeline? So, perhaps people in FFVII may have some technology backwards at some point, a lost technology thousand/hundred years ago. Even in real life, we sometimes wonder that there are some discovery of how advanced our ancestors were.
Meh. I'm thinking Spira is a Mideel sort of Archipelago of Gaia. And also Dissidia seems Canon more to FF1. But Dissidia could easily be Canon due to most lead ff characters transcending time and space at some point in the narrative. Warrior of Light. (Time Loop) . Firion. (Pandaemonium/Friggin Hell blah blah) . Luneth/Onion Knight. (Cloud of Darkness). Cecil. (FIGHTING GOD). Terra. (Duh). Cloud. (Lifestream). Squall. (Time Compression). Zidane. (Memoria). Tidus. (Farplane/Fayth Dream) . Warrior of Light (That Zilart shit). Vaan. (Glabados Cache). Lighting. (Chaos/Fal'cie etc.). Warrior of Light. (Infinity). Noctics. (Etc. Etc.etc.) I dunno. Seems legit there might be an actually history to Final Fantasy. Plenty of Continent shifting Calamities in most of them.

I still make this joke to this day
Plot twist: cloud is tidus's descendant.
And Yunalesca might be Jenova aka the calalmity that pretented to be one of the Cetra aka Summoners
You kinda sound like the voice over for Wedge in the Final Fantasy 7 remake.
Bro you're on top you're on top bro seriously awesome video I just saw your ff7 remake and followed it to this one incredible
Thanks man!
maybe when you go to one of the sectors there will be a store or stand or something with blitzballs and maybe u can even play
that would be so dope to play blitzball again and in a new age
omg I would love that!
They need to make stand alone Blitzball multiplayer game
They're all fun characters to have all around!
a few weeks ago i got downvoted to hell on reddit when i was talking about this theory as canon :p thanks for making this video
No problem! I don't know why you'd get downvoted tho since it's been confirmed for years at this point lol
@@DashingDavid yeah i thought so too! apparently it's not really widely known and or accepted
@@rukanrukan6249 mostly, they reject the idea because of the contradiction in original game (PS1), I hope the remake will affirm more that both verses are indeed connected, it took much years ago, so why would we worry that the story will be overlapped?
8:50 King Vermin also reminds me of the boss, Materia Keeper
Noticed it during my first play through of ffx-2. Good stuff
I was was curious. You made the connection between ffX and ffVII, but hojo in ffVII is talking about a new project that he has not finished yet. Later ffXIII came out and right before you obtains the eden summon, you find out that the ultima weapon was the unfinished project of hojo from ffVII. I always thought that 7 and 8 were connected as well by reading the text inscriptions in the game.
im a huge fan of FFX over FFVII. 😅 guess ill repeat FFX again from stratch until i reach FFVII:Rebirth. lets gooooo
is Yuna a cetra?
I always thought 10 was the past of 7,because aerith was one of the ancient like yuna, and because of shinra
He is dreaming like the Fayth do in FF10 and summoning himself to do everything we will before then
What do you think about the connection with Tatics and FF12?
This video was sick dude, definitely subbed.
Thanks man! I have several others videos on this topic. Just search “Dashing David Final Fantasy VII & X Connection Theory”.
tbh everything that nojima and the team are saying is canon soooo ~ ^^
also i love your videos they are so underrated ... keep going😭♥️
Apart from the obvious Shinra connection, i know it sounds simple, but the materia and sphere connection seems to always stick out to me, even in Crisis Core (OG and Reunion), when Genesis opened the door with the goddess materia, it reminded me of the sphere system in the Cloyster of Trials, and i never noticed the Farplane and Lifestream connection until now 😅
Were the Cetra and Jenova mentioned in FFX/X2?
I always remember how the Shera wasn’t even built by Cid. He found it buried in the ground. It was in some guide somewhere probably about Advent Children, cant remember. So some ancient technology lost in history so advanced and probably used by star faring peoples…hhhmmm? Lol
iirc the guide was from FFVII DOC.
After x tidus goes even further into the future he mete cloud and Zack they both speak albhed aerith was the last summoner ancient
I think the reason for the travel to another planet is tying into the idea of the universal life stream.
And what would that idea be?
I didn't know about this theory, but in multiple ways I've always felt that Auron was Cloud, Titus was Chrono, and Wakka was Rand ... But that's just me wishing.
So if Shinra came from Spira to Gaia, does this mean Jenova & Shinra coming are the same event? And Shinra has to censored there involvement by the time of FF7?
That’s a really interesting idea
Two of the gardens in 8 should be called zandarkin and Bevelle have that be what destroyed the world in x
Now this does put smile in my face
Ok but if they had space travel why did shinra need cid to make space travel
In the ff7 remake there’s a record called the prelude that the blitzball music from the beginning where tidus meets wakka
Oh damn I hadn’t even heard that connection yet
Dashing David I noticed it straight away I when I bought the record
If you don't believe me here are the links to both tracks:

You don't even need to play 10-2 to see shinra, he's in the far plane in the first one, that's where I noticed it originally, but I always assumed the opposite of the same planet theory, I assumed that jenova was actually from spira, but it makes sense that spira and Gaia are the same, even though the planet has different names, even the earth has different names throughout history
Earth, gaea, Terra, etc
That’s not actually Shinra in X. It was just a random Al Bhed kid. X-2 is a massive asset flip. They just reused the model.
They did talk about wanting to make a 10 3
What makes this more believable is in ffx you travel across spira in only a few weeks.
FF12 is in the same world as FF Tactics, I heard.
Yeah it’s in the Ivalice world
ff 12 and 14 and fft are connected too
I think it's cool to know. because 7 is my favorite. I was okay with 10
"They called me a madman" i knew i wasn't crazy!!!
They don’t wanna believe it!
The fact he says, "of course it'll take generations" is pretty telling. That line didnt need to be added at all
How is that telling of anything?
@@DashingDavid he's implying it'll take generations to see the project come to fruition, which it does obviously in ff7, 1000 years in the future.
@Dashing David it's telling you seem like a dick, prob won't be watching your videos again
Wtf are you on about?
Please tell me your thoughts on why we have no digital versions of the FF VII Movie in English. :( I suspect it's because of the remake and the voice actors I could find the English dub before that game but not after
Which movie?
So x - x2 came first then 7 ?
This aged well. We got the easter egg in the Shinra building
Yeah I know haha
You meet Shinra immediately in ffx-2
Ok this theory has been made a fact among the final fantasy community and it makes sense to see that these are connected in so many different ways but one thing that I find puzzling is are the people of 10 And 10-2 ancients, cetra or humans or both bc if they are connected and both timelines are about 1000 years apart then when dose jenova take into play and what about ultima weapon or any of the weapons where they discovered by the ancients or humans
And are there any references in ff7 or the remake that revolves around 10 or is there more to this plot
Just wanna throw out there that ff15 has a small connection too 7 aswell with diamond weapon appearing in a cutscene and with a Midgar zolom in a swamp in the world
Tidus and Cloud would not get along. Tidus is too native and Cloud is too cocky.
You think so?
This is absolutely orgasmic. These are my 2 beloved FF games ever. Although i had my suspicions for several years.
I never made the connections but it seems so obvious now
You could alao lainch far into the future to say the last spheres of light in ff1 are the last few materia left on the planet that has fallen to the end with very few remaining machina left surviving.
But what about FFIX? FFIX's world is Gaia.
It’s simply a name. Gaia is another name for our world.
So does that mean that the cetra are the people from 10? Or are the cetra the summoners?
Were does the ancients and jenova fall in all of this?
Answer that question and this will be 100% legit.
Yeah i was thinking about the same while i was watching the videi
Jenova is basically just your friendly fictional Space Parasite like Chrono Trigger's Lavos is, and Parasites just does Parasite things anyway.
This would’ve been a great theory unfortunately Stranger of Paradise and Dissidia confirmed that FF is basically a multiverse with some small connections and similarities
What if the reason why Sin exists in ff 10 world is because of Hojo.
That’s an interesting idea but sadly impossible. The way the theory goes FFX takes place way in the past.
Now we have Rebirth and Aerith does a dance very very similar, like the same dance as Yuna. Coincidence....I don't think so 😂
You said you don't know why they would have to leave worlds if they are the same, thats easy Sin returned after FFX-2
Perhaps Jenova is some kind of Sin for FFX-2 people and that's how their world got destroyed.
Need to see a cross-dressing Tidus and Cloud "laughing".
Rin sounds like the narrator/commentator from the Powerpuff Girls.
didnt even mention the connection between materia and spheres!
I can't actually believe that there's an X-2 and not a 7-10.
Yeah 7 and 10 and 9 are my favorites I had know idea about the connection and with the ff10 music in the back round this video was kinda emotional lmfao
Ive noticed, in the Remake, that the spirit orbs in the Train Graveyard look exactly like Pyreflies from FFX to me
They connect because it helps sell games.
It can’t help sell the games considering it’s a mild connection. Wasn’t a part of the marketing. And wasn’t even relevant until X-2.
@@DashingDavidYes, it came from x-2 exactly, much like the compilation exists to make money, not improve ff7’s original story.
@@DashingDavid an easter egg and lore that points to another game is marketing, same as if a character drinking a coca cola is in a movie is an advertisement
@@catfriendking no. They weren’t saying in trailers for X-2 that “this game connects to FF7. Buy this game please”
It’s something for the fans only.
You didn't make the game. It doesn't matter what you say. The games are connected.
Imagine ffx characters appearing in ff7 remake part 2
So events of ffx then events of ff7??
Yes, though FFX would be like around thousand of years ago.
It's same universe but different planets (Events taking place at different times)
But when I decided to look into to fax like this my brain started working.
Tidus was eaten by that whale, spitting him out in a different "time" but what if that asshole whale isn't just a time portal.
What if Tidus was originally from a different planet before things became corrupt by Shinra, you know before things got out of hand and he could play blitz ball till his hearts content. (Maybe while cloud was a kid or even before he was conceived.)
What if when the whale ate Tidus it did it's fair share of damage, left and traveled through time to a different planet and dumped Tidus off somewhere in the far past of ff10's planner along the way as the whale past by.
I mean, they said like "if space travel is possible in the past, why can't Shinra Inc. develop it? Why don't we see any space craft and why they had to steal Cid's plane (Tiny Bronco)? ect BUT:
Didn't in FFX, Tidus was from the past, but the technology in his era was much advanced than around thousand years later in Yuna's timeline?
So, perhaps people in FFVII may have some technology backwards at some point, a lost technology thousand/hundred years ago.
Even in real life, we sometimes wonder that there are some discovery of how advanced our ancestors were.
Meh. I'm thinking Spira is a Mideel sort of Archipelago of Gaia. And also Dissidia seems Canon more to FF1. But Dissidia could easily be Canon due to most lead ff characters transcending time and space at some point in the narrative. Warrior of Light. (Time Loop) . Firion. (Pandaemonium/Friggin Hell blah blah) . Luneth/Onion Knight. (Cloud of Darkness). Cecil. (FIGHTING GOD). Terra. (Duh). Cloud. (Lifestream). Squall. (Time Compression). Zidane. (Memoria). Tidus. (Farplane/Fayth Dream) . Warrior of Light (That Zilart shit). Vaan. (Glabados Cache). Lighting. (Chaos/Fal'cie etc.). Warrior of Light. (Infinity). Noctics. (Etc. Etc.etc.) I dunno. Seems legit there might be an actually history to Final Fantasy. Plenty of Continent shifting Calamities in most of them.
Actually the promised land doesn’t exist it only applies to those who have actually died happy
so Yuna is an ancient Ancient. ba-dum-tsss 🥁.
I'll show myself out 😑
No come back. We enjoy those jokes here.
lolol I hit that sub button few min into the vid bro. playing thru 10 hd right meow. just slayed the chocobo burglar outside of Rins shop on Mihen Highroad. trying to get this one weirdly placed chest while using the chocobo...without using a guide. trying to do the game actually with no assist from guides. love this game. enjoyed your video tho buddy
Not exactly same world. But from same universe different planet
World's that are ending is what connects them
Yunalesca gives me Jenova vibes
The people from spira obviously got to gaia long after the demise of the cetra.
Or the 2 Planets are neigboring ones, which isn't really knew in Video games anyways as Phantasy Star, a really old RPG from 1987, literally has 3 Habitable Planets close to each other.
Damn , I'm real late to the party....
