The world needs more final fantasy theories. Thank you for your service. I have subbed in the hopes you make more :) people need to remember that theories dont have to be 'correct' to be fun.
finally someone make this video then some blog on the internet. This theory begins in 2008 to 2015 when dissidia was released. It was a theory thinking every game from 1987 to 2023 was connected in some way. But actually it is not connected at all very debatable topic.
There was a Cid mentioned in Final Fantasy 1 as the builder of the airship that you find in the desert but that may have a been a retcon from one of the remasters, lol, I have played it so many times, lol
My only issue with your theory is the lack of inclusion of the MMOs. Because frankly thanks to 14s story, it gives a framework to the connected worlds theory, while at the same time adding new versions of the old worlds the games existed in. Plus it flat out says that the reflections are not the only connected worlds.
@@gothicshark the reason I didn't include 14 or 11 is because like all things that have over 2 decades of lore behind it. It starts contradicting itself eventually. In 14s case when you start getting to the cross over content it establishes the worlds are all separate and thriving but when you get to the sisters they claim to have destroyed all worlds except for 14. I didn't find it worth sorting through 20 years of cases like that. But by all means if your versed in the MMO lore go ahead and draw your own conclusions.
This video has me begging for Gilgamesh game now. Square would never pull the trigger with their current financial woes, but Greg could be really fleshed out as a deep, introspective look at how dimension-hopping for so long could break someone mentally. We know he's on a quest to collect the most powerful weapons in the void, but we don't know why, so his motivations could finally be delved into. FFV feels like the mid point of his arc where he submits apathetically under X-Death's will, but Bartz and gang's friendship snaps him out of things. My mind is flooded with ideas, but It'd basically be the version of Kingdom Hearts I've always wanted; less keys and more blades.
I'd say that most Final Fantasy games don't have truly connected settings. Final Fantasy Tactics and FFXII are for sure the same world. FF7 and FF10/10-2 might be connected, maybe, but I'm not really convinced. But other then that, I'd say none are connected. The thing with Gilgamesh however is that he canonically is the same person in every game he appears, because he's been traveling between realities after his original appearance in (I think) FF5. Which is why he can appear in the Origins re-releases. He's inserting himself into the world, when he wasn't there originally. This is why magic, summons, and the nature of the summons is different in most of the games.
I apparently lost my Gaia side of my old FF worldline mapping notes, but I have long held that the FF series has causal/historical links across the games and it's timeline could be mapped even as games take place in different timelines and realities from one another.

If you like the connections to different realms and games, you should really take a look at Stranger of Paradise. It will throw a huge wrench in your theory here, but it clearly establishes that the various games all have their own realm. It also includes Gilgamesh who is the same traveler from 5, and the same one in Dissidia. I know you said that you wrote this before Rebirth came out, but Rebirth has some strong hints of a connection to X. I don't think it is as solid as them being the same world, but I could see Shinra traveling to another world, and using his knowledge to extract Mako. We see similar structures of mining and using spiritual energy for power in other games, notable 9. Sadly, Gilgamesh is not the same between the different games. In the case of 15, it really felt like they were setting up a Gilgamesh being there who took one of the Royal Arms and was headed to an Interdimensional elevator. Still, sadly, if that was the original intent, it was scrapped and replaced with a generic dinosaur dragon boss. The Gilgamesh that appears in the DLC is definitively that exists in the world of 15, has a history, and is drastically different from the Gilgamesh we know. The one from 9 also appears to be a resident of that world and not a realm traveler. Try checking out my video on FF7 Rebirth Mysteries. In it, I talk about Gilgamesh a bit. ua-cam.com/video/q6OC4AHV3Sw/v-deo.htmlsi=l91xA_4n9mVW-8mt
@@ZoransFantasy-pv4vi yeah, but some have more validity than others. I believe that they've decided to put Shinra in FFX-2 just because of how popular FFVII was. I've also enjoyed your Lightning-Jenova video.

every single game where gilgamesh appears reinforces the existence of the VOID, because that is what gilgamesh traverses
