In FFX, Sin's purpose was to keep the people of Spira from finding out about dream Zanarkand, which meant keeping the people confined to Spira and not progressing technologically. So maybe Spira is just an island on Gaia and after Sin is defeated Shinra was able to explorer the entire planet. After which starting the Shinra company.
The world's are nothing alike. And Spira is certainly not an "island" as you fly around later and that becomes obvious. It's more likely they left the planet and went to another one. It had been a thousand years after all. There's no doubt these are two different planets. Any reasoning as to why they chose to go to another planet is speculation or conjecture. But consider Spira's history. A _thousand_ years of Spira's history was a period in which a giant kaiju creature called Sin, destroyed cities and villages and killed countless people for what the church explained was "the use of machina". Even if that turned out to be a lie, the faith would endure, it's impossible to snap people out of something that deep after that long. So my theory is that once they developed a way to use the FarPlane and extract mako and develope new machina, the people of Spira rebelled in some form or another. Turning against the company for using the spirits of their ancestors that way, and possibly even fearing the shadow of another Sin. Considering Avalanche is an eco terrorist group against Shinra, a spiritual equivalent on Spira would likely leverage the fear of another Sin and the spirits of the pyreflies in their propoganda against Shinra. So they simply decide to leave for another planet, rather than deal with the endless struggle of existing on a planet with a population of "spiritual zealots" thats fundamentally against them. If they leave for another habitable world, they would likely be the most advanced forced of sentients there, and would have an entire planet to conquer and rule over. Or neither? Either way I can enjoy this connection as is or more if it is further expanded upon as long as death isn't taken away in the VII remake series.
When you think about it death in 7 isn’t really permanent either. Clouds had multiple interactions with Aerith and Zack. Aerith helped save the planet at the end of FF7. And she also talked to Kadaj in AC.
Very true. I guess I am hopeful for the VII world to continue that sense of life moving on through the cycle in the remake installments. A part of me with the connected universe wonders how similarly or differently the respective planets operate.
Aerith literally can easily be described as an Unsent who goes in and out of Lifestream lol, it's canon that it was Aerith, utilizing her strong connection to Lifestream, used Holy to stop the Meteor. We also know Souls that are already inside Lifestream/Farplane can go out during the events of FF10-2's Dark Aeons. Hell, Sephiroth literally also does it all the time too.
There's one fact that I'm surprised I didn't hear. When you get to Cosmo Canyon in FF 7 it's explained by the old man that the life stream floats not just in one planet but all. So if you mix that with Shinra experimenting with space travel then the X and 7 connection makes more sense. However what doesn't make sense to me is 7 is all about the ancients being related to the promised land. Who would be considered the ancients from X? Someone please enlighten me if I missed something to which I surely have.
FF10 people has very close connection to the Lifestream/Farplane as it's a major part of their global culture and lives unlike FF7 people. There are many ways to explain how and why it's that FF7 people doesn't have the same strong connection to their own Lifestream, but in short we know that FF10 people are capable of transcending death by becoming an Unsent, which is a really rare ability in FF7 as we only know that Aeris and Sephiroth have this ability and we know that ability is connected to utilizing Lifestream's power.

Hmm.. we never saw ffx2's Shinra's beneath that mask but Al Bheds are all blond with green eyes. Rufus and his father both have blond hair but blue eyes, probably because the race got mixed down the generations. Though green eyes are a thing in ff7 as they are particular for Shinra's SOLDIERS. It's also interesting how materia and ffx/x2 spheres hold power from "life", materia being solidified energy from the lifestream and the ffx spheres from the recordings of people's lives. Another thing that comes to mind now is how in the original ff7, Cloud falls into lifestream at some point and becomes paralyzed and incoherent due to the intense "mako poisoning". Account settings wont open up on my ps4 the damn 2 step verification screen keeps appearing. Because of this virus all the workers are out so there's no number or online chat. Now I'm sitting here not playing because I cant get signed on and enter my summons dlc. If anyone has a way of bypassing this or getting in to cancel 2 step verification please help
It’d be wild if Remake ends and that’s right where 10-3 picks up whether it’s technically a prequel or not.
lemme guess.. aeriths real mom is yuna
Fuck yes. I always believed they were connected
I watched your video on it so I know but it's cool so technically ff10 should be before 7
Yeah X would be roughly 1000 years before
@@DashingDavid all final fantasies are out of order technically cause 12 was more advance than 10, 7 more advance than 10 but not 12, 13 more advance than all of them and 15 your looking at the past to get stronger I don't know if the rest have any coronation but it's fun to speculate am on chapter 9 25+ hours in is it worth it hell yeah
Interesting great vid
That's really cool!!
well that's just a theory a game theory
Yes but if devs confirm it's connected then it's not a theory
@asura well yeah
I can go bigger than that. FF15 is connected to FF7 as well and i'm gonna prove it. Noct and Ardyn are Cetra. Ardyn is the first Cetra born on Gaea.
Where’s the proof the he’s Cetra?
@@DashingDavid The Cetra, are the People from FF10 that arrive on the World.

FFVII and X was debunked by the writers themselves by basically acknowledging the Ultimania was wrong and that it was just a silly realization that they had made a connection or two between the two games. That is it, nothing more was meant to come of it, the Ultimania interview was mistaken.
Then why did Kitase confirm it in 2017? Why is this character in the game?
@@DashingDavid Why is there a Biggs and Wedge in almost all games/in all games? Why is there a Cid in almost all games etc? They are throwbacks, doesn't mean that the games are connected like this theory is saying VII and X, it is just another throwback.
And with an interview with a French Final Fantasy website Finaland Nojima commented on the link thusly: "This story is a bit of a joke. When we created FFX-2, we wanted to create something, a totally new world. Except that when I created it, I realized that it looked a lot like FFVII... But without realizing it. Afterwards, when it was officially said in Ultimania, it took a completely gigantic proportion when it was just an anecdote."
So it is really a question of what they are on about, are they connected or not? It seems they say one thing and then another.

Thst is the link to the interview which was 2018 when it was posted.
@@Forgotten_Lore kitase confirmed it already
@@Crippinbarbie And Nojima, as the other writer, says no, obviously they are not on the same page with this...
Besides, I have also read that any decisions on making FF games connected goes through the final boss, Matsuda (or whoever it is they pass the final copy by), so regardless of they want them connected or not by throwing in any and all easter eggs to do with it is fine but officially the boss nuked the idea.
@@Forgotten_Lore you're wrong none of them flat out debunked it
I really hated these two be connected. But oh fucking well lol not worth being mad about. (Personally dislike FF10) If your happy about these two being connected im glad for you though :D
I personally loved X. It’s in my top 3 Final Fantasy games.
@@DashingDavid fair enough. I objectively dont like it. Just wasn't my cup of tea lol. Top 3 are FF7, FF3 (american), and FF9 for main lines. Any FF tactics games are also amazing :)
I absolutely love 9 🥵
It’s not legit. It’s just a bit of fun the developers had putting the guy in the picture. People are taking it to seriously
There is no reason to put a masked guy if it wasn't true well whatever we'll find out eventually
@@vinceunknown1935 look at the video where kitase confirms It and it's something I always suspected from the first time I played X and X-2
@@keiranhalcyon7814 Nono I was talking to the dumbass above me saying that there would be no point in putting a masked guy in there if Kitase never confirmed it
It's in a museum about the history of the company. I don't think that's taking me too seriously
@@vinceunknown1935 sorry this comment was actually meant to be a reply so the original poster I didn't realize I put it to you until just now
