As a corporate lawyer who often works longggg days, I'm always looking for habits and hacks to make me more productive and focused. So in this video, I share 4 of my most powerful hacks to be super productive, which ultimately means I can shave minutes (or hours) off my workdays 🙌
    00:00 4 uncommon productivity habits
    01:03 Overcome the afternoon slump
03:24 When stressed, go to MoSCoW
06:38 Exercise first thing each day
    08:24 Don't reply to emails & messages
    .....................................................
    My Free Trello Masterclass
'More Focus, Less Stress - Build Your Ultimate Productivity System in Trello' is my FREE course (Trello is also FREE), which you can take by signing up for a free 2-week SkillShare trial: skl.sh/3h2XpV1
... The course walks you through how to build your customised version of my insanely powerful (but simple) Trello productivity system (aka the app that keeps me focused for 10 hours per day!) 📱

    About Me
I'm a trainee lawyer, part-time UA-camr, son, brother, startup founder, boyfriend, black coffee drinker and plant dad. I graduated from Cambridge University (where I studied French and Spanish), topped my law school class and now work for a corporate law firm in London as a trainee solicitor (which takes up a lot of my time)!
Around that, I'm a big fan of discovering new ways of thinking, of balancing work with life, and of performing to the very best of my ability. Ohh, and being happy. And I try to share all that on this UA-cam channel 😀
Fun fact: I believe we massively overplay the role of “natural talent” 😮 AND… I also believe that TOGETHER, WE ARE ALL CAPABLE OF POSITIVITY, PRODUCTIVITY AND SUCCESS.

Agreed! I’ve also been trying to eat smaller lunches with less carbs, and then allow myself to snack around that with e.g. cereal bars etc in the morning (with coffee) and mid afternoon 😊

Chewing gum after lunch since long ago😁
I wasn't aware of its productivity effect (just chewing for pleasure), but looking at it in hindsight, it could be true👌

Hey, great video! While, my chimp brain craves for dopamine, and I've trained it not to mindlessly scroll at instagram... I still constantly check my phone for messages from close ones (who seem online all day XD). How do you control this urge? Whatever I've tried doesn't work, and since my college is still online, I also don't want to feel left out in these texts...
Kudos mate! I really love your videos

Hi Liam, does it matter what law school you graduate from in order to be employable?

    • @channiedhillon
      @channiedhillon 2 роки тому +1

Yes.. Depending upon where you want to apply to. People prefer people who are like them. It makes people feel comfortable if they feel conforyable with you and this comes from knowing who you are. The HR people and HR policy may not be too concerned about it... So a good qualification from a good uni will get you into this environment... But in interview with a partner it might be of benefit that you are from similar type of place as they'll understand this easier. But I think generally it may not matter too much as long as you can show them you are intelligent with a good degree qualification and that you really love the boring shit that they do on a daily basis because people like to feel that what they are doing has meaning and purpose when really it's shit boring and likely want you wanting to kill yourself and your colleagues after 10 years of this shit.
      Don't do it though OK

Why do people want to be more productive.... More machine like... Maybe because life in other fields is difficult and only in the work place there is some control... Some order....so people seek more and more of that order and become more and more mechanical and robotic.

4:00 going to see a psychologist from taking too much on..... This is too sad.... Blame the society... Blame the education that you've been brought up in... Blame the parents that create ideals and demand in ways that you achieve... Who needs this shit.... To be honest what is to blame... What is to blame is that we have ideas of ourselves and these ideas are really insecure and so we seek to make ourselves secure by achieving more... But this will never really make us secure because the self that we think we are is really made from ideas and being made from ideas it will never be secure.
I've watched a number of your vids now... And I've also watched that Ali Abdaal guy that I saw you also may watch and he also has the same issues as you and of course as me and all of us... Because psychologically we are all the same.
He's nuts.. Your nuts.. I'm nuts... Society is nuts... "it is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society".. Krishnamurti.
OK... Back to insecurity/security... Look... To be honest you could have had a direction of acting or drama or theatre and then you would have sought more and more in that direction to be secure. But coincidences have led you to law and so you seek in that direction.
There is something a little bit not right in society that a kid... 24 25 Yr old has to go see a psychologist... Something is awry in society that this should or could happen.
Society has caused much of it. Look around you. Theyre mostly sick bastards dressed in suits all seeking their own security and the expense of others. But they won't reveal the level of their boredom. Or they won't see it for themselves. Most are dissatisfied and seek satisfaction... Just look at all your vids... What is underlying them is seeking... Seeking satisfaction... Seeking security. The same applies to every sick bastard in society. And all those fuckers at Clifford Chance hahaha.
