the key point that i got out of this video was that "preparing to do "the thing" is not doing "the thing" thinking about doing "the thing" is not doing the thing, only doing the thing is doing it, so just start doing and stop thinking, evaluating, doubting, fearing etc.

I am turning 18 this year. I always wanted someone to show me the “way” never wanted to find it myself I never wanted to make decisions which I might regret later .so I always asked others to take decisions for me, I took their advice as their orders and mentally blamed them if anything goes wrong the fear of being wrong or failure always stayed I still don't know what I want to do in life but one thing I would change from today is I will take my own decisions and responsibility which comes with it. Because nobody always make the right choice, I might end up becoming a failure in life, but one thing is for sure, I will not sleepwalk through life.
I will need this video again, so please like to remind me

Your story really moved me . I guessed because it's very similar to my life too. I am 18 and I failed my Engineering entrance exam . Instead of taking the responsibility I coped by pushing the guilt away by blaming others and random things . To be honest I never was dedicated and determined to clear the exam by studying and putting in the actual hardwork ......but instead I used to search tricks and strategies , like relying on external factors to help me pass the exam
Now I am preparing for the same exam again by taking a year out and attempt it next year ..... but this time I guess I understood what a failure is like by analysing my previous mistakes and try to stay true to my goal now . Thank you for sharing your story 😊
      Good luck

I’m chronically ill and disabled. It is incurable, and life long. I have intense pain almost every waking moment, and I convinced myself for years that I was incapable of most of the things I ever wanted to do in life.
I finally got sick of it, and with the possibility that tomorrow I may be “taken out” by anaphylaxis, an aneurysm or rupture, a spine injury resulting in paralysis… I have been proving myself wrong consistently. In just the past year I’ve done more than I thought I would be able to do for the rest of my life, and it was still in pain. I was still physically miserable for a good portion of it, but the more I decided I could control the things in my power, the better I felt and the better my health has gotten.
I’ll be listening to this and trying to apply in this sense, because things are wildly different when we are differently abled. Especially in my case…

Man this is such a good video.
I’m that guy who tried around 8-9 different career/online businesses that I heard the gurus talk about…
Sure there are people who make money Dropshipping, or doing high ticket sales, or copywriting, etc…
But I genuinely believe that, for most, that’s not the way to go.
Find something that interests you, that you have a knack for, ideally, and do that.
If that does mean starting your own business, then go for it!
But if that also looks like working your way through a degree, and working in a company, then don’t feel bad about that because we all have a different path to walk.
Another thing to remember and tell yourself is:
“I’m better than SOME people at SOME things, but I’m not better than ALL people at ALL things.
At the same time, I AM better than anyone else at being me.”
    Find your thing.

Sage advice from a young man.
When I was 25, I was uncertain in life and working in construction, saving money paying off my student loans. But I grew restless. Finally, I went to the top of the mountain overlooking the valley, and I asked myself the question if you could do anything you wanted in life and you were guaranteed to succeed , then what would you do?
It was hard to ask that question because my mind was full of doubts, and all the things that others told me that I should do, but I finally managed to push all that aside and see my future. I knew then that I wanted to go back to college and study computer science , it was a life changing decision
Sometimes we have to set ourselves free from the shackles of fear and doubt, and even comfort can be a shackle,. But once free, you can see clearly.

@@davidkovacic3422I think there may be a little more to her comment than what I'm about to say. But I can elaborate on the first half. Many people make the mistake of busy work and it gets them nowhere. For example- Two people have an office for their business. One stays in the office everyday and says "I need to clean my desk. If any clients come in I also need to vacuum. I don't want them to see an non vacuumed floor. I also need to repaint my office" and he spends all his days like that. The other says "I need clients. I'm going to advertise, call, and go out and offer my services. I'll spend 95% of my time getting clients until I have enough work and only 5% cleaning the office." The second one was actually doing activities that would get him where he wants to be. The first one is doing things that are essentially doing nothing for him. He's putting icing on a cake that isn't ready. The first will always wonder why the second is doing so much better because they both work the same amount. But one is busy and the other is productive!

      @BeDangerousGroup 8 місяців тому

If you are still on this Earth, you are not only winning, but nothing is over either. Clark's advice is great, but do not for one second think you're not deserving of it because of age.
I used to have so much feeling of regret for not doing better in high school. I always felt that it pointed the trajectory of my life. It wasn't until I was about 40 years old where I said that I'm going to mentally think that I graduated high school today. What would I have done different?
So, I started aggressively learning about investing and investing my money in.
So, I don't become a millionaire at 30 but become one at 50 or 55...or even 75. What am I going to say..."no thanks, I'm too old. Take it back!"?
Of course I'm going to enjoy it and take wonderful enjoyment that I at least did it once in my life.
Age is just a number. Don't underestimate your ability to ignore that number!

Damn, I was never able to figure out how to word it. I always used "Complacent in life"...
This video reminded me it is actually OK to choose my own direction in life. I've always yielded to the belittling and degrading of others around me, living a life in their shadows and failures.
I have been living this way for 15 years. Not playing the victim but actually living life as if their opinions and demands - their perceptions are boundaries I can not live outside of bc nothing exists or is allowed to exist outside of their spoken / unspoken boundries.

I'm 28. I have watched quite a number of self-improvement videos, but this one actually strikes a chord. I have always felt this deep drive in me, that I could do something great in the world, but my fears and anxieties always beat me down and those dreams truly felt just like dreams of a fool.
But now I see that the problem was in that I never had any plan whatsoever, it was just a deep longing feeling and in a day it faded away, without me ever having anything particular to grasp onto. This video though gives concrete 4 questions, by answering which, I really feel I'll get some kind of path to follow and a goal to achieve.
My big dream was always to sing in front of the crowd, to make their day better. Sing with emotion and happiness (I love singing alone at my house, music is magic), so that hopefully the people will feel it too. I know that without any fear I would enjoy it immensely. But at the same time I am an introvert with social anxiety and singing in front of the people is terrifying :D
With writing this comment I promise myself that in a years time I will go on the street and sing. No matter how good or bad it will go, still I will be unbelievably proud of myself for just even going to the street and opening my mouth. Because then it means that I can do it again. And again. Every time getting a bit better. And one day, hopefully, fear will understand that it cant stop me and will let me go.
See you in a year, you beautiful people! 😇

I always felt I needed to be “a somebody” or do something profound or big or to have had a great life. I was always chasing the next thing I “needed” to be doing. But when I realized the act of living and the ordinary things of the day to day are what it’s all about and we never pay attention to the, you find beauty and contentment in living slower and more simply. And not striving to do something huge all the time.

I admire how this man differentiates between 'preparing to live' and 'living'. This reminds me of the quote 'many people die at 25 years of age, but we only bury them at 75,' which emphasizes the significance of truly living life rather than just existing.

As a 38 year old who feels the same, you aren’t in the youth. I will tell you what I say to myself on a daily basis: you just need to get your shit together and be an adult. Let go of the childish bullshit, grow up, and once again: get your shit together.
