i definitely can forget to eat when I have a busy day which isnt great because my energy definitely dips and I dont realize until my stomach makes a very audible growling noise!!
Hahaha - 100% Sam!! When you get in the zone and just keep working and working, it's so easy not to eat, but really not good productivity (or health!) wise. The times I forget to eat, I generally end up losing the time I make not eating by working inefficiently and losing focus!
Very good tips. I started working from home in 1994 and interestingly my tips are the same. I always have a pint glass of water on my desk. I try to get outside (in my case into the garden - I was sawing branches earlier). Also it is much easier as you get more senior as you decide things so just hang on in there and it gets better. It is also going to be best for most junior lawyers as soon as they can to get back into the physical office so people should try to lobby for that as much as possible.
"also it is much as easier as you get senior".... Hahaha... Bullshit.... It is much easier as you get senior as you now get to abuse those that are junior hahaha
100% gonna try and incorporate this just before my mocks, so everything will be fine if whatever I do, like revise or eat, is in moderation. Thank you Liam👍🏼
Moderation is key - and I think just generally trying to make sure you are being really focused and efficient in the time you spend working, and then making sure you have time to look after yourself, eating well and exercising too :)
Some sound advice, I must say. Being able to manage work stress, is an achievement in itself. Many end up with a pyrrhic victory so these tips are much appreciated.
Yep - been a seriously tought couple of months, grinding hard! But hey - worth it to feel like I'm learning lots and getting better and better at my job, and making videos too :p Thank you so much Demetri!!
Working for someone else, undercutting other workers in the race to the bottom. Talented workers like Liam often undervalue their time and accept horrible working hours that would be illegal in most other European countries. Trainee corporate lawyers in London earn £50k max so working 14 hour days basically means less than minimum wage. It doesn’t seem fair and definitely isn’t sustainable, especially if he ends up having a family and children.
How about we stop gloryfying absurd working hours? Somehow people think this is how it should be. I am a banker at a large corporate for 7+ years and in avg. I make 8 hours a day without compromising on any opportunities within the company.
Yup. If it takes you 14 hours to finish 8 hour work you are either ineffective or a company is exploiting you to do the work of two people. Doesn't UK have rules about 8 hour work days and mandatory hours between two work days? I hope he grows up soon and realizes there is more to life than throwing the best years of your life away at work.
Hi could you please do a lawyer focused video - tips about your training contract and what makes a good trainee, and time management tips. I am due to start a training contract next year and I would love to know good productivity tips as a trainee.
This is exactly what I needed I mean the exact same questions that I had about coffee intake, posture, eye strain and being motivated. This really helped a lot! Also I am a bit curious about one thing if you don’t mind answering. Did you or Beth use to watch any webseries or shows when you were a student?
Hey Devanshi! So glad you found this helpful :) Umm, we both watch UA-cam a bit, and also watch a lot of series on Netflix if that's what you mean! I've always been a big fan of Matt D'Avella and Nathaniel Drew :)
At Clifford Chance they make you work till 3am.... But when you make partner you too will continue the cycle of abuse. You will do this because already there is fears and insecurities. You feel you are not able to push back and tell the associates and partners how things are... And so you accept it. Because you have accepted it now when you make partner you will behave the same way because there is fear and insecurity now and there will be fear and insecurity when you make partner at Clifford Chance.
Nope - I am careful not to leave confidential stuff up on screen, neither of us look at what the other is doing, and when we are on calls, we sit in separate rooms :)
while bluelight glasses can reduce the amount of bluelight entering the eyes, there is no scientific evidence to prove that bluelight glasses reduce eye strain. I find that a lot of UA-camrs use bluelight glasses and recommend them, but no one is talking about the lack of evidence that they are effective
when you want to be productive so you're procrastinating by watching a video about his productivity
Hahahaha me watching this at 1 am in the night also want to be productive
All the time! Lol
True!!Lol
Duuuude! No lie, Liam is a monster!! Truly inspiring. One day I'll be doing the same thing as him here in RSA🤞🏽
Thanks so much team!!

Do you use Trello or another digital organization tool? Will you show us how you stay organized.
Which Camera, mic, software for editing, keyboard, monitor, study lamp, desk and tools you use?
I went to private school, my grades were anything but the best

Love your videos! ☺️ Isn’t it a breach of confidentiality for you to be working in the same room as Beth though?
Nope - I am careful not to leave confidential stuff up on screen, neither of us look at what the other is doing, and when we are on calls, we sit in separate rooms :)
Do you ever face the issue of overflowing tasks on your to-do list? How do you deal with them? I would love to know!
Yep - 100%! I use Trello to manage my to-do lists (and life) and actually have a video and course all about that coming very soon :)

Why aspire to this crap?
Hire a (new) copy editor to reduce verbosity. Couldn't finish
i liked listening to Liam talk though - What's wrong with letting him explain himself?
