    Small note: you forgot the boss's "pushback" effect in its first attack.

      It's not TOO deep here, but just enough to feel your character getting stronger round after round.

    I think this is one game that shouldn't dishearten you if you die. As a true "Souls" player - Prepare To Die. Thanks for the upload. What' ths other expansion? I have Forgotten Paths (not completely sure of the name, Pyromancer & Thief added characters).

    Hi, what if I don't have a weapon in my hand after switching cards for my encounter? do I pass to the enemy or else?

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  2 роки тому +1

      The first action option for a player is to discard any number of cards and draw an equal number of replacement cards, so you can do this during your activation to hopefully get a weapon.
      Of course you will probably be in trouble at that point :)

  • @NoNamedTerror
    @NoNamedTerror 2 роки тому +1

    Quick question, do you put your discard pile back in your deck after winning an encounter and moving onto another one?

    • @OneStopCoopShop

    Hey Mike, how do you like this compared to Pathfinder the Adventure Card Game 2nd Edition? This one looks way more tactical, filled with more and tougher choices. Do you keep cards for your deck and does your charakter develop with each game played like in pathfinder?

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  4 роки тому +4

      Florian, that's a question I've thought of a lot. Here are my comparisons between the two:
      Dark Souls - Quicker to set up, quicker to play, has the tactical positioning aspect (though it's fairly light), is only a one-off game (no campaign play), usually has better cooperation between players, doesn't have any dice rolling, so randomness-averse gamers will like that.
      Pathfinder - Better leveling (since it happens over a campaign and gets more epic), better combos (you can chain 4-6 effects together to roll like 10 dice. Dark Souls has nothing like that), campaign play, lots of dice rolling and adding up of numbers.
      For me, I enjoy Pathfinder more, but Dark Souls will appeal to some gamers.

    • @florianschoppler4001
      @florianschoppler4001 4 роки тому +1

      One Stop Co-op Shop Mike, what are your favourite characters in pathfinder? I might not be deep enough in the campaign but I have not yet found such combos you mentioned. I am missing just that. I am looking for better combo card plays in pathfinder. I hope that cool card combo plays help against the repetitiveness the game suffers. I should mention that I only play it solo with two Characters

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  4 роки тому

      Maybe it’s only 3-4 cards. But it’s still more than dark souls, which only has 1 or 2 card combos :)

    I think you've swapped Wolnir's hand position (His right hand should be on his right, left on his left)
    I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think it should look like the videogame (plus, the pictures of the 3 cards are connected, like the "exodia" tipe of thing)

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  3 роки тому +1

      I'm confused... if you look at when he first shows up, around 29:30, the pictures DO match up, and they ARE like Exodia, etc. His right is on his right and his left on his left. I just turned it all 180 so the viewer can see the text on the cards.

    I didn't catch what the Remnant of Humanity cards are for.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  2 роки тому

      It’s explained on page 10 of the rulebook. Basically if you don’t have enough cards to reach the max deck size of the current bonfire, you fill out your deck with remnant cards, which are simply “draw 1” filler cards.

  • @nicolasbrun9795
    @nicolasbrun9795 3 роки тому +1

    Are the size of the cards the same as Magic the gathering cards? Could you tell me the size of the board player.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  3 роки тому

      I culled my copy, so can't tell you for sure on the boards, but I looked up the card size and they use "standard card game" sleeves (63.5 x 88), which IS the same as MTG.

  • @ntoscano01
    @ntoscano01 2 роки тому

    Great video! Can I use an attack during a quick action? If I kill an enemy while doing so, do I still take damage?

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  2 роки тому

      To be clear, the only difference between a quick action and a standard action is what happens to the card you played after the action.
      With a quick action, the card goes back into your hand (you can use it again later). With a standard action, it is discarded.
      So yes, many weapons have quick action attacks, usually for less damage than a standard action attack.
      As for your second question... I'm not sure what you mean. You attack enemies during your turn, so they don't deal damage back to you until they activate again on their turn. If you defeat them during your turn, they won't get the chance to hurt you. But again, that has nothing to do with quick or standard actions. They are not actually "quicker" in terms of attacking the enemy faster. They just stay in your hand.
      Hope that helps!

      @@sophiewood1919 here are a few of my favorite games that are pretty accessible, and have an adventure or fantasy theme:
