Not trying to be a "rules lawyer". Just want to make certain I learn correctly,.. At 30:59 shouldn't the Mob only have taken 2 damage instead of 3 because the Hunter was poisoned? Also,. I saw earlier where the weapon was used all by itself without using a stat card, and then on another players turn, they used the weapon "with" an attack card. Can the weapon be used in both of these ways? Thanks. GREAT video guys!
A quick note that I haven't seen mentioned yet. The enemies don't activate every time a hunter is done performing actions, they only activate after ALL hunters are done, since that is when the "hunter turn" ends and the "enemy activation" begins. Also, it didn't come into play, but the bloodstarved beast "move 3 after round" would happen at the end of the round, right before you move the turn tracker, and not when the beast activates. EDIT: I was wrong about the enemy activation part, the way you guys were playing was correct. So instead of deleting my comment, I'm gonna own up to my mistake. My bad guys.
"Once a Hunter Turn is completed, Enemies that are within Activation Range OF THAT HUNTER will Activate, moving toward and Attacking that Hunter." (p. 16)
The "On Attack: Heal 1" effect of the Wheel applies when you declare an attack and place a card on a slot, not when the attack actually goes off. Otherwise it would say "At Attack Speed." The same thing happens when you use the Caryll Rune near the end to stagger the female beast patient. You have to decide to use it when you declare your attack preemptively, not after you see the enemy action. There are four different windows of opportunity during an attack phase that all trigger differently: On Attack and At Attack Speed, as I just said, then also After Attack and On Kill.
Quality playthrough by a couple pros, this was great. I gained a good understanding of the game and I'm chomping at the bit to bust out my copy! Well done you guys. :)

Great walktrhough, very nice done. I m a huge fan of Soulsborne games and i really enjoyed this one, hit the red button, full watch and liked of course
Just finally getting around to playing for the first time, and in our first playthrough we did the Fall of Old Yharnam as you guys did. We had four players who are all very experienced board gamers, and we got clobbered. I had hoped you guys would reveal some kind of strategy that we missed - but nope, it seems like we just got super unlucky with our tiles. One of the tiles for the mission was the second to last one, and by that time all of the available monsters were on the board - we even had to leave empty spaces because there aren't enough minis. Watching your playthrough, i was a bit incredulous that you guys had only four tiles out when we had nine. Also, with four players, going to the dream is a much more dangerous strategy. The track advances so fast that you don't have time to get everything done. We were thinking about house-ruling the ability to have one of the advanced action cards per player from the start of the game. After all, if each player voluntarily goes to the dream once and is killed once - that's already half the game. So obtaining many special cards with four players is basically impossible. Now that we better understand the flow of the game (and particularly combat, which is obviously a big component of play), we're going to try again this evening. Hopefully it goes a little better than the first time...
@@OneStopCoopShop Thanks - it went slightly better, but we still barely finished when time ran out. It was a last ditch effort to gather the last insight we needed. We literally won on the last turn, with the only player who could get to the particular space needed, using all of her actions to do so. And once again, we had 10 tiles out in order to find everything needed. We didn't really do anything significantly different - after reviewing the rules we seem to be playing correctly. We'll move on to Chapter 2 and see if gather any momentum with our strategy! Anyway - thanks again for the playthrough, it was helpful to verify that we were doing things right. The manual is fairly terse...

The turns are fast enough that 3-4 would still be fun I would think. I haven’t tried it so I sadly can’t tell. I know this probably didn’t help sorry I’d see what people on BGG are saying
@@OneStopCoopShop No worries. Watching your gameplay of this game already convinced me that it's probably a lot of fun to play. @@OneStopCoopShop Yup, correct way already incorporated into next chapter. Makes it more challenging, but also some abilities and consumables became suddenly more useful ;)
I think at 50:22 you did things right with 4 dmg. Cause the effect of the Attack would only apply if you were poisoned before it resolves, else there wouldn't be any sense in stating, "if already poisoned,.." because you're poisoned anyway if it hits you. Or did I miss something there?
Yep you are absolutely correct. I was caught up on the speed of the attacks not the fact that you had to be already poisoned when this attack took place. I’ll make sure to put a note in the video. Thanks for the help and thanks Benjamin as always for watching 😃😃👍

Each campaign is different. The campaign we did was not the long hunt. That’s why the blood starved beast was after us. The game comes with 4 campaigns all ending with most likely a different boss fight.

Hey guys! Not sure if i got this correctly from the rules, but does the time track resets for each chapter in case you managed to complete it? I thought it was supposed to last for the entire campaign (3 chapters), which would be insanely hard with 3 or 4 players...
It would be very hard to win if that was the case. Yes it does reset I recorded the next 2 chapters and they will be coming out soon almost lost the tracker in one of them. 😃😃👍
I have a question, if we are playing multiple people, and one is having and fighr with an enemy, and he will be out of cards, and the enemy isnt dead, those that mean that the player is dead, or will the enemy ignore him until his next round?
After each player’s individual turn is finished, all enemies within one tile activate. (It’s been a while since I watched this video; so I’m not sure if they got that right!)
Oh, absolutely. Otherwise, the game would REALLY be impossible :) Basically, you keep your earned skill cards, your earned items and weapons (and you can switch out which you bring into chapter 2), your earned consumables, and your completed quests. The quest part is the coolest, because they'll change what happens in some cases in chapters 2 and 3. Very cool :) -Mike
I wish I could answer hat question. Base box has 4 hunter and 4 campaigns it is modular and most mission have random enemies. Also you will not see the entire chapter the first time you play. I would guess 2 plays of each campaign would see most of the game. Hope that helps thanks for the great question and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
So why is the guy with the stagger weapon throwing away all of his stagger cards? His other side let's him do damage when he dodges, but I'm pretty sure he got rid of all those except his hurr durr move 3 card too.
@@OneStopCoopShop nah i tried it but i am not stisfied with my work even as others told me its not that bad. i dont have patience and time. I also own a lot more than 1000 minis at this time and over 200 biardgames😓
You seem to be playing with Dark Souls activations... In Bloodborne, all hunters activate together, *then* all enemies within activation range activate. All hunters can spend cards on actions independently and simultaneously during the Hunter Turn. Enemies activating up to 4 times between an individual hunter's activations (1 activation per player) would make the game far far too punishing, especially since enemies also attack each time a player attacks them.
You are incorrect about this, sorry! Hunters take individual turns (in the order of their choice) and enemies activate after each individual Hunter turn. This is made very clear on page 14 and 16 of the rulebook, discussing the overall game round and the enemy activation phase. - Mike

You slained it a second time, you would take off the token and again it would get full health back up. So I think you need to kill it a third time to be able to finish it for real.
Yup you've got it!
That is correct totally missed having to do it one more time. I’ll make sure to put a note in the video. Thanks 😃😃👍
Can you use just one card to pick up both consumables?
Great question. Yes you can.
We finished Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 of Long Hunt and never saw a Blood-Starved Beast. Could it be that there are different versions of the chapters??
Weapon rewards are the same
Each campaign is different. The campaign we did was not the long hunt. That’s why the blood starved beast was after us. The game comes with 4 campaigns all ending with most likely a different boss fight.
The sheer number of times Bairnt says “go ahead” causes me to be staggered.
We all have those transiting words we say! Try not to stagger yourself!
Hahhahaha!!! Great comment. I’ll watch out for that we do all have our comfort words 😃😃👍
21:03 Why do you have to discard "dodge card" ? Remaind me.
It’s been a while but I’d you play it the slot clears not sure if this was the instance for discarding or not sorry. 😃😃😃
@@OneStopCoopShop aaaaaah, you are stuned by his card. You have to discard a card ! You played Correct. 😉
Awesome vid man
is there a chapter 2 playthrough?
It's coming this week!
nice, can’t wait 🙌🏻
what kind of video equipment did you use?
been thinkin of doing a run but I dont know which equipment would help me to get a good quality video and audio
Everything I do is done on my IPhone tripod and lepel mic. I use Imovies for editing and boom! Videos. I have no secrets and would be happy to help ya feel free to email me anytime There are some great you tube videos out there on how to start making videos. Hope this helps and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Thank so much, I was watching part last night
I like the way you explain your turns
btw
did you have a hard time storing the cards back into the game box? I’ve never used plastic sleeves but im planning on getting some for this game
Do you guys do paint guide videos by any chance?
Not yet we have been thinking about it over on the streaming channel but hasn’t moved past the thinking stage.
@@OneStopCoopShop They look epic. Would love to see how you did it.
I will talk to some more about it. 😃😃👍
Hey guys! Not sure if i got this correctly from the rules, but does the time track resets for each chapter in case you managed to complete it? I thought it was supposed to last for the entire campaign (3 chapters), which would be insanely hard with 3 or 4 players...
I am almost 100% positive it starts over. Wouldn't make much sense otherwise!
Haven’t played this in quite a while, so I’m not sure, sorry!
@@OneStopCoopShop oh, ok, nvm ty
So there is an enemy activation phase?
After each player’s individual turn is finished, all enemies within one tile activate.
(It’s been a while since I watched this video; so I’m not sure if they got that right!)
Aren't you supposed to heal 1 during the very first fight since you attacked the enemy?
Nevermind I just saw the answer :)
Where did you get the small card protectors?
I am pretty sure Bairnt got them with the Kickstarter
It is an amazing game
I agree I can hardly wait to continue the adventure soon!! 😃😃👍
Will the time track reset in chapter2?
Oh, absolutely. Otherwise, the game would REALLY be impossible :)
Basically, you keep your earned skill cards, your earned items and weapons (and you can switch out which you bring into chapter 2), your earned consumables, and your completed quests.
The quest part is the coolest, because they'll change what happens in some cases in chapters 2 and 3. Very cool :)
-Mike
Do you have a upload schedule for this game? Like will it be 1 chapter per week kinda thing?
I know Colin and Bairnt aren't doing one this week, so I assume it'll depend on when they are able to get together and play.
Colin and I will be getting back to bloodborne for sure it’s all about timing hope to do it soon. Stay tuned 😃😃👍
How is the replayability of this game?
I wish I could answer hat question. Base box has 4 hunter and 4 campaigns it is modular and most mission have random enemies. Also you will not see the entire chapter the first time you play. I would guess 2 plays of each campaign would see most of the game. Hope that helps thanks for the great question and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
what about the boss phase 2 ?
51:50 is your answer! It was part of the campaign :)
Thanks Martin for the help.
So why is the guy with the stagger weapon throwing away all of his stagger cards? His other side let's him do damage when he dodges, but I'm pretty sure he got rid of all those except his hurr durr move 3 card too.
You want good filming and commentary AND intelligent strategy?? You ask too much, sir! ;)
I totally see your pint Luke. It’s always a tough decision on what to do 😃😃👍
i like the painted minis i dont have talent for that
Bairnts painting is awesome!
Anyone can do it. Just takes practice Patience and you tube tutorials 😃😃👍. Thanks Daniel for the complement 😃😃👍
@@OneStopCoopShop nah i tried it but i am not stisfied with my work even as others told me its not that bad. i dont have patience and time. I also own a lot more than 1000 minis at this time and over 200 biardgames😓
That is a ton of minis to deal with for sure.
Already all painted up? Jealous !!!
You can't keep Bairnt down. He is a MACHINE!
Hahaha!!! For sure I wanted to get this to the table!! Had to paint it the models we fun to paint too!! 😃😃👍
- Mike
@@OneStopCoopShop I only noticed because I'm drilling the rules for my own play through coming up, enjoying this at work to quench my hyperfocus! 💪
@@auracle6184 Hope you have fun! But again, just want to make sure you understand that our video has it right and you are resolving one hero turn at a time, followed by an enemy activation :)
So do you make any money with this channel or is it all about breaking even while feeding the board game addiction? 😃
We don’t take money from publishers ever (we aren’t advertising for them), but we get some from Patreon supporters and from UA-cam ads
Wow this looks cool and confusing at the same time. To me it looks like to little "basic fighting" and too many effects going on. Great video but this game seems to be too hectic for my taste 😉
It is actually quite streamlined for a dungeon crawler not to mention the upgrade system is really fun. Of course not every game is for everybody. Thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Next part?
Bairnt is recording it this week!
this game is so complicated
Why would you ever play this game if you've never played Bloodborne
Colin and Bairnt love to try out all the dungeon crawlers ;)
But I'm a big Bloodborne fan, and I think this one nails the theme perfectly - Mike
I have never played bloodborne but I know the IP I really enjoy how this game plays even out side of fully understanding the video game.
ive never played or seen the video game, but this appealed to me, it looks kinda cool
What sleeves did you use for the player decks? I noticed they have a nice fit. How well do they fit into the slots in the box?
The sleeves I used were the Mayday sleeves that come in the 50 pack yellow color. They don’t fit back In the box very well had to use a different box that sits next to my bloodborne now 😃😃👍
