Just wanted to throw this out there (while you guys are off to the bathrooms) that I appreciate your thanks, but it's really not necessary guys. I have an empty aft cabin, you need a place to stay, 1+1 still ends up being 2. And it's a small favor I can do you in return for the hours of entertainment I've personally gotten off your content. Looking sharp with a new haircut and goal to upgrade..... I think the schooner looks fantastic.... let's see more of that!!!
There's an old saying that boats grow on trees because there are so many abandoned ones that are still sea worthy enough to be restored.... the boatyard is your oyster. Just decide what you need and pick a pearl!
Don't gamble on a catamaran or steel or wood hull! You know what you want and if the marina will let you rebuild an abandoned vessel that could potentially free you up to do a little side travels to see the country in the spring.... by rail, bike and caravan; adding some spicy content to the recipe!!!

If you do consider the cat and I suggest you can get it for much less than 10k because there is no interest it has obviously been on the hard for a long time which means it is racking up bills. Have a look at the sailing Lady Africa channel to see what a difference renovation can do.
Certainly too much space is a problem unless you are considering starting a family however it is much less of a problem than too little space.
Maybe I got it wrong but you are considering an ocean crossing to the Islands where you will be spending a lot more time on the hook so the extra cost of moorings which can be 1.25 to 2 times will not apply.

Throwing in my sixpence worth of maybe helpful info.. First you have to know what you intend to do with the boat.. As has been said by others Cats are nice and comfortable to sail and lie easy at anchor or on a mooring but cost twice as much on a pontoon berth in a marina. But a good choice..
As regards the upkeep on a used boat ,the hull/keel is number one and the rigging and engine next.. BUT as i and others who have followed you from the beginning have noticed your actual "sailing" career has been minimal and none in any rough weather that would tax a boats rigging. So if you intend to carry on like that you would be better to make sure you have a reliable engine for motor sailing and doing quick flits along the coast as you have been doing. Anyway, Good Luck and stay safe both of you..

Great to see you both again!! I have missed you :) hope you had a good break. Congratulations on the sale of GT and I really hope you find a new boat to you soon :) I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you guys! If all goes well, I'll be in Marbella at the end of May for my Day Skipper practical, so if you happen to sail that way, dinner is on me :)

Right decision to buy in the med👍 I’m thinking you guys are in it for the long haul I’d be looking for a 40 foot if you can.

Hi Mark & Nadiyana, it’s just occurred to me that you will only have till the end of March, or maybe April ( not sure how long you were back in the UK for), then your 3 months in the Schengen will have expired. So please be careful, don’t want you copping a massive fine or prison. Barnacle Bern 👍👍

I've never seen boats going so cheap here in the UK, I think you'd get more bang for your buck back home, Westerlies are virtually being given away! Get a boat with shoal draught that can take the ground, bilge keel or long with legs, avoid fin keelers, save you a fortune in oh so many ways.

Big changes 👏 take your time and find the right boat. It may be your home for the next ......years. I know its easy to say but when you need a home the pressure is on but its easy to rent or stay in a hostile and find the right boat. As others have said offer low just cause the are asking £xxx doesn't mean they won't accept less. As they say its a buyer's market, good luck 👍🏻⚓⛵🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

There's things to be said for having an aft cabin ;) Not only can you put up 2 Wildlings with relative ease, it also doubles as a convenient storage compartment!

Hi Guys, Good to see you in good shape and spirit ! Like i said before about a month ago: As your budget is tight, these times (covid) are in your favour. Dare to make an offer half the asking price. We have an old Dutch saying( now we sound like a old wise chinese man haha): The answer "NO" you already have, it might turn into an unexpected "YES" ! If you do not try, you will never know the outcome. Good luck and warm regards from Grong Grong AUstralia. John and Sandra

Hello lovely Wildlings, my better half and I have just bought a Colvic Sea Rover which is in generally good order. The interior is a bit basic with not much storage space built in - we really like the interior of Good Tidings and use of space, especially the galley (which we intend to copy). After living on GT, what would you have changed or added to her to make her an even more comfortable / practical living space? Thanks in advance, Andrew & Paula xx

Another great vid..but sad you have sold her..really liked her.....you two are naturals on camera...have followed you all the way from Bangor...I would say the perfect boat for you would be a colvic motor sailor 31.. loads of living space below decks. Built like brick outhouses..lol.....good luck in your search.....more vids soon please...Chris..

The way you talk about Good Tidings as a person shows that you are true Sailors and learned your lesson. The right boat will select you as her new caretakers. Have faith, and go with your instincts. When you walk on to your boat, you will know! Take a good friend with you as a surveyor and devils advocate.
