    *Nice reel so far **enjoyable.fishing** recommend used it for about an hour after getting it from Amazon and functioned flawlessly. Very smooth retrieve and the anti reverse is perfect. Feels like a reel that would be double the price.*

    That's so awesome! Congrats on a fantastic day! Two days after you posted this, I had this weird feeling that I was going to do the same thing. (New pb, twice in one day) I got the first pb around noon, (by one ounce) and then went in to see my g/f and see if she wanted to go back out with me, but the weather turned ugly before we made it back on the water, so I had to settle for just one. I did get it on video though, so that's a bonus. Congrats again!

    First video I've seen from you and I'm definitely subscribing. I managed to pick up a Lews Zillion for cheap and since I'm pretty broke right now I was wondering if you had any suggestions for a good rod 150 or under. Thanks dude, hope to see more great content!

    • @618Fishing
      @618Fishing  8 років тому

      Awesome man thanks for subscribing! I'm not the best person to ask because i just got my first decent bass fishing set-up not long ago. The rod I use is the 7'1" g loomis e6x jig/worm rod. It's around 180, but I'm liking it a lot so far. I've heard good things about the 13 fishing omen rods and they are around 110 I think

    • @johnbrand4995
      @johnbrand4995 8 років тому

      Thanks for replying, I completely forgot about that rod, I think that will be the one. Although I'd just get the standard casting version because I like fishing with a lot of different stuff with only two rods since I'm 15 and on a tight budget. Huge help, thanks!

    I'm considering picking up that exact same combo this weekend I'm pretty much sold on loomis rods , how do you like the concept A? Vs the concept C if you have used it or even. a lews or diawa?

    • @618Fishing
      @618Fishing  8 років тому +1

      the concept A is my first teardrop baitcaster so I can't offer much of a comparison to other reels but I am enjoying the concept A so far! Its low profile fits in my palm nicely which I really like. thanks for watching and good luck with your decision!

    what power and action is your e6x and do u like it a lot and if i was going to buy it, what would be some heads ups and pros and cons

    • @618Fishing
      @618Fishing  8 років тому

      it is the medium power x-fast action version. I like it a lot so far, but i'm pretty new to the bass bait casting game so I cant compare it to much. the thing I like most about it is its weight(very light) i'm also impressed with it's sensitivity and build quality. if i was to buy a second bait caster setup i would take a close look at St. Croix's Avid X rods which are in about the same price range. hope this helps and thanks for watching!

  • @DeBoss62
    @DeBoss62 8 років тому +11

    Buddy just a few words of advice. I'm not familiar with 13 reels but it appears you have barely any line on the spool which can really hinder the casting distance. You're also barely setting the hook and doing it in the wrong direction. You're almost setting it like a spinning reel. When using a right handed baitcaster, really load up on the fish and swing it toward your right shoulder. Not to the left. Hope that helps

    • @joshholt8127

    • @ScuffedThumbZFishing
      @ScuffedThumbZFishing 8 років тому +3

      true but he also lost a giant. this guy said this was his first baitcaster so obviously he isnt going to have perfect hooksets but deboss is giving good advice,

    • @Alex-rq4ec
      @Alex-rq4ec 8 років тому +1

      You have to set the hook to the right side when using a right-handed reel? Please explain; apparently you don't understand that the line interfaces no differently to either side of the reel and your hookset direction is entirely preference? And you're actually wrong about less line hindering casting performance. You'll get less distance casting heavy lures but more distance casting light lures.

    • @DeBoss62
      @DeBoss62 8 років тому

      +Alex Bon when fishing a plastic which requires a hard hookset you do. You get the leverage and motion. Doing it to the left makes it awkward and you loose power. The exception is fishing a moving bait.

    • @Alex-rq4ec
      @Alex-rq4ec 8 років тому +2

      It definitely matters to which side of your body you casted to. I'm left-handed and fish right handed reels; I normally hook set to my left. It's irrelevant. You also normally hookset to the side opposite to the direction you casted in. The physics that govern what keeps a hook in the basses mouth doesn't care whether you hooked it in the left top or right top of its mouth.
