- In this bass fishing video I catch my personal best while river fishing! I haven't gone river fishing since our last river fishing tournament so we decided to go out and try a bit of bass fishing! Same thing happened to me last weekend while fishing for Smallmouth on the river in my kayak. I hooked a 9 and a quarter pound Channel Catfish. Wild fight on a kayak and the biggest fish I ever caught out of the river.

I thought the same thing when I hooked into a giant flipping grass a few weeks ago. Thought for sure it was a PB largemouth and it ended up being a 17 lb. channel cat 😂.

Nice! Those cats fight like the devil. I was fishing a Shaky Head off of a Rock Ledge in Tennessee. Thought I got it caught on a rock but I felt some give so I set the hook. I hooked into the biggest cat I've ever caught. I had a brand new medium extra fast curado rod and it bent that thing over double, going under the boat twice. I thought I was going to snap my ride but that Rod proved it's worth that day. 12 minutes later I pulled up a 17 pound Flathead. Definitely one of the fights of my life, that and a 10 to 12 lb carp on a fluke of all things

I grew up catfishing, just really got into bass fishing. Bass fishing is definitely more exciting but, there’s nothing like fighting a catfish in!
Yes catfishing is awesome..they sometimes fight hard if not harder then bass. Use any thing with blood..chicken liver or cut up blue guill..walmarts magic bait works wonders also.
