      Modern rod to a pretty good job. But it's really the reel with controllable drag that makes catching really big ones possible. With big fish, you can't stop them from moving if they really want to, but you can wear them down. The rod it mostly there to absorb quick tugs and give some direction control. People do catch huge ones on handlines, but it takes more skill.

      I gotta say fishing for sport is kinda stupid and unethical. What is the reason to fish if you are not gonna eat the fish also, just bully the animal for no reason, hurt it, and then release it. Its kinda insane that after this video these dudes probably go to eat to some restaurant or market to buy food that has been transported from another side of the world with huge carbon footprint when they could have just cooked the fish they caught and make good meal with local ingredients and low ecologic and economic impact to nature (and their wallet). It's quite crazy, but if you buy fish from store, even if it would have been caught from quite near, the fish is often shipped to some low wage Asian country like china etc, where they clean and process the fish and then ship it back to western market, and all the time there are giant freezing units to try to keep fish fresh, so the energy wasted here and unnecessary pollution from generating the electricity and running the ships and trucks is just absolutely crazy amounts.

      The Bible says that no one is a good person. We have all broken God's law the 10 commandments, we have all committed, lies, adultery, idolatry, and blasphemy. We deserve hell, but because of what Jesus did on the cross we can be forgiven. So if you Repent of your sins, change your wicked ways, and put your faith in Christ you will be written in the book of life. 👌 🙏Repentance is reviewing one's actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs, which is accompanied by commitment to and actual actions that show and prove a change for the better........

      And also, He doesn’t want you to go to Hell but he wants you to go to Heaven with him but you have to be Saved. How do I get Saved you might ask? Here are the steps below on how to get Saved!
      1. Confess to Jesus that you are a sinner and ask forgiveness for your sins. Thank
      2. Believe that God sent His Son (Jesus) to die on a cross for your sins and that he rose again from the dead 3 days later.
      3. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and your life and for him to be your Lord and Savior forever.

    defintely a big boy. WHen I was fishing in Brazil in one of the Amazon tributaries, we stopped for lunch in a lagoon and one of our guides hooked into a giant. Unfortunately, it got off. We did catch catfish over 350 pounds, huge Peacocks and Pirahnas that were gigantic, including one I caught that was 7.5 pounds. Great Fish !!!!!!!!!!

    Very impressive catch, not to mention the strength of those fish. If it hadn't been worn down it would be more lively, I've heard of someone that got his ribs broken by it's tail slap to the ribcage. Definitely not a fish you want to underestimate.

    It’s strange I don’t know why I feel sorry for the fish when I see vids like this ??? Even though I enjoy fishing and do it whenever I can, I do it for purely eating. Fishing only small fish for food seems ok and stressing out big beautiful fish in far away majestic environments purely for sport or yt hits seems strange to me . Why is this ? And does anyone know what I mean ?

    • @NebelKothbauer
      @NebelKothbauer 5 місяців тому +4

      I mean i understand where your coming from not many people think about it some people just try and catch the biggest fish that they can for the thrill which i get its fun to test your strength on something thats 4 times your size but it also stresses the fish out after long fights and at a certain point it just seems kind of sad i only fish for food and im selective of the size and dont sport fish

      I fish for seatrout almost every single day, and i see your point, and i respect it!
      However i think that you can justify “sportfishing” as long as you make sure to treat the fish as good as possible and make sure to use the right size hooks and don’t fight them too hard when not necessary😅
