I’m trying to go back to these older videos to catch up after recently finding your channel. I am really enjoying the quality and variety of fish that you catch. So glad that I found this channel.
I was reeling a bluegill in on my light action rod yesterday and out of absolute nowhere a bass just comes and torpedoed the thing. Literally from right under the plank I was standing on. I didnt expect anything like that to be there with all the commotion on the dock. Few minutes later I catch a bluegill, so I threaded it on a circle hook tied to my bait caster and sure enough within 3 minutes, same bass came back for seconds. It missed it twice but then I watched it absolutely nail it in shallow water and set the hook. Did not have my scale with me but it was a solid 3.5 to 4 lb bass. Very pleasant surprise, especially so since there wasnt much else happening .
@@618Fishing especially so when you can see the action in shallow water like that. That was a VERY aggressive bass. Getting to watch it go hard after that bluegill was as exciting as catching it!
@@618Fishing have you tried using a bigger throw net, if so, do you prefer the smaller one? I have a large one thinking bigger is better but it's just to challenging to throw. Seeing how successful you are with this smaller throw net made me curious.

Nice variety of fish in this episode. I used to tie a trailer fly to a large popper for bass and pan fish works great. You tying that trailer hook on that lure made me think of it.
I find myself dropping by your channel more and more to find some solace. Your videos just have that calming effect on me. Like everything will be okay. Keep making these. They are a treasure to me and you'd be surprised how many times they have gotten me through the day.

I just discovered your channel. I love your choice in music and your general persona. I'd like to see some more time with the fish themselves tho. Your zoom in and then release is indeed photogenic but, I'd like to see them up close and how you handle each species.
I feel you on that blue catfish surprise. I just came home from a trip where I caught an almost 3 pound rainbow trout on a live goldfish and a 5/0 circle hook catfish rig!

Nick you caught a lot of different species at that low water spillway! That was a nice blue that you caught and that was a nice drum as well! Great video man I loved it!
Bit of a tip: make sure that ur drag is maxed out when ur fishing with cork but when ur fishing with big baits such as bream then set ur drag to where u can just pull it...trust me it works I don't lose fish as much
I came to this channel because of the music selection and stayed for the fishing. I've added so much music to my selection purely because of this channel and am actively trying to convince my wife to go spillway fishing with me. lol
You should have more catch and cook. It will make your adventure more satisfying and you will enjoy it more. I can imagine that big drum with bbq rub over charcoal, or a couple of crappies on a stick over binchotan with soyu or kecap manis dressing, or catfish fillet pan seared over a burner with butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, chilli powder and rosemary, or just butter, salt, pepper and lemon. I could go on and on man.
Those are some HUGE fish! The drum was massive! I remember you doing micro fishing a few years back... Do you think you can try that again? I really enjoyed it, and I feel like some other people might want to see some micro fishing again. Its all up to you, though, as I know its really fun to fight large fish. I will still stick with you to the end

I understand he isn’t perfect with his video titles but MAN you guys are so hateful to him. This guy is fishing, doing what he loves and providing entertainment for people like us. How about be grateful for what he’s doing and if you’re not happy with what he does and how he does it, go fish your own damn self and stop watching.
I love this spillway, you always seem to catch some chunky fish. I went out this morning around 10 to this big reservoir 30 minutes away from my house. Some guys in a boat caught a few smallmouth but i did get my personal best green sunfish. It was at least a pound or so and was about 6 or 7 inches long. I thought it was a bass for a second seeing as it hit on a spinner.
I have watched most of your videos and really enjoy them. Thank you for creating a little joy in a tough time. It’s great to see your enthusiasm for the simple things in life. Your videos are very well edited and provide a great escape from the current social realities. Please keep them coming,!
That's a great spot. It looks perfect to camp and night fish for the giant blues that you just know are in there. I'll be driving through the Midwest from Montana to Maine at the end of July to early August and I think I will be trying my luck to hook a giant flathead or blue cat.
Try and catch grass carp at the pond where you do big bait challenges. Like this so it gets to the top.

I really enjoy these multi species catch days. I really liked that big short nosed gar, the big Crappie, and the big drum.
