Simple not once was I confused I got learning difficulties so wish this guy did how to then everything in the house tbh great video
One point, which may already have been mentioned. Count the number of turns you turn the lock shield valve when closing it. Then turn it the same number when opening it up again, to keep the system balanced.
i dropped my phone behind the heater. came to find a way to disconnect everything to get my phone back. Turns out you can just lift it and remove it from the wall lol. Make sure you watch the whole video first lads. Thanks for saving my skin Allen
I will always trust a fellow northerner with precise but simple instructions over anyone else. Thank you so much, im just about to give this a go, hoping i dont make a mess of the new carpet!
The best thing about your style is that you assume the viewer knows absolutely nothing. Super helpful, thanks so much for uploading!
You missed one vital part I’m afraid. Capp the trv with a blanking plug that cost pence. I’ve seen more for flooding with those trv opening up in the middle of the night that I can care to remember.
No need to remove or drain down, loosen the radiator tail locknut on both sides, then I use a car jack with flat wood on it positioned just in front of the bottom of the radiator. Gently lift radiator up a couple of millimetres until it clears it's hanging brackets then rotate the radiator. Once radiator is laying horizontal just nip the locknuts on the tails again. You have total access to the wall now.
One tip... after closing valves it's best to open bleed valve to check no water comes out. It's not uncommon for Thermo valves to leak.
Thanks Allen, very helpful. Misses wanted to retrieve 15 years of pictures down the back. I’ll pop a few quid in your virtual charity tin.
When the radiator appears empty and you lift it up off the brackets, inevitably you will lift the radiator on a slope and the lower end will have black water dripping out so I always have a jug/tray under one end and lower that end first so the water goes into the jug. Then lower the whole rad as you did and carry it upside down. Small point but vital if the carpet is underneath!
Best things about this video:
Seriously this is hands down THE best video tutorial for removing a radiator. You've taught me how to remove the radiator and built my confidence in DIY. Last time I did it I flooded the room I was in 😂
Well what can I say Allen is probably the best plumber I’ve
Most clearest video yet on the internet to do this! Thank you 🙏🏼
This guy is excellent. He is my go to for plumbing tips. Thankyou for explaining the process in such a 'normal' way.

So many instructional videos on youtube have logos, theme tunes, lots of irrelevant information. This was exactly what I needed to know without having to watch several times, or having to skip content. Thank you Allen. Donated & subscribed
