    Justin thanks for this great video, I need to paint wall behind such radiator. This helped me a lot.
    You may consider Knipex pliers wrench 86 05 250. So convenient for any size of nut. Fast adjust. Smooth jaws. And it can generate insane pressure between jaws if you need, great for bending/streightening wires, sheet metal etc. I have them, love them, not cheap but worh every cent.

    Great tutorial as always Justin! One point to mention on filling it up is if the system is gravity fed from a tank in the loft, or whether it’s a combi boiler.
    If it’s a combi boiler, it’ll need topping up to replenish what was drained out. Perhaps another tutorial in the future?😀

      Hey man, thanks for the praise 👏
      Yes good point. My boiler is not a combi, and yes it did need topping up and bleeding.

      How do you know how much water is in the system and whether or not it needs topping up after doing this. I have a system boiler. Thanks 😊

    I'm a total novice at DIY so might be a silly question but those rad valves at the bottom. How do you get the caps off. Do you just pull them off? I have a small leak under the cap which I imagine but be coming from the brass inside but not sure how to expose it

    I'm on the other side of the pond so I actually had to Google WTH it was that you were working on 🤦‍♂️🤭 lol. I was TODAY YEARS OLD when I found out there was such a thing as a towel warmer! Yours is piped in & I found the same here that are electric. Either plug 🔌 in or hard wired in 🤷‍♂️.
    Thanks for the info! As they say, we never stop learning, lol. If I ever need my towels warmed up I know they exist 👍!!

    Anyone knows how what size spanner I need to undo the radiator tails from a tower rad like this? I'm replacing mine but want to keep the old tails as the new rad doesn't come with them...

    Really useful video. Thanks! I tried to call a plumber to do this work on 5 radiators but it is impossible to get one. I am already at the fifth plumber that came to assess the work and disappeared. I decided I will do it by myself.!

    Hi . When taking off the radiator is there anything you must do first concerning a combi boiler as most videos I've watched only talks about this but does not show you and I'm the type of guy that takes note when I'm showing what to do .

    Do you have to turn the water off in the home first?

    • @VickersDoorter
      @VickersDoorter 9 місяців тому

      Provided there are input and output valves (which you'd lock shut prior to removal), you should not need to turn off any other water taps. If for whatever reason input/output valves were omitted, you would need to turn of the water supply to the heating system only and drain the heating system down first. If you need to do the latter scenario and are not experienced, I really would get a plumber in and save yourself a lot of potential trouble.
