- The Diamond DA62 is a unique and one-of-a-kind flying machine, with incredible equipment that makes it moves farther and faster than any other aircraft in its class; the Diamond DA62 speaks of exquisite luxury. In this video, I'll be sharing with you all that you need to know about the New Diamond DA62.
The Diamond DA62 is a twin-engine aircraft with a seating arrangement for up to seven passengers on board, it's no doubt the DA62 is the luxury SUV of the skies. The aircraft which is fully automated with FADEC technology has a range of 1,283 nm; the DA62 is quite spacious with an extra-large cabin, generous and adjustable front seats, a 60/40 split-folding three-seat second-row bench, and an optional folding two-seat third-row bench.

This video literally just took the same 6 ad videos combined them and then repeated the performance specs in three different units if measurement.
Yet, he manages not to list fuel consumption figures in ANY metric. Smh.
Who calls the fadac a f-a-d-a-c
Lmao fax
Must have done great on his grade school papers.
I didn't want to watch a commercial, but i did. Thumbs down.
I'm 60. Started flying when i was 15. Get laughed at today for using an e6b flight computer. I would love to own this aircraft.
I still use mine.
Same, except I'm 66, received my PPL when I was 17. Pilotes these days have no idea what its like at night, doing an instrument approach with paper maps. Even a night VFR XCountry flight. Had to hope you never dropped a pencil. I still use my e6b for planning and in flight to double check what I'm seeing.
Best 10 minutes ad I have seen in a long time
Could be the best twin ever made in this size and weight but staggering price
what's the price please?
@@obieakpachiogu $1.5 Million with options. Find a used one for $800K to 1.25 Million. The best twin ever made.... so far.
Thanks Peter.
@@peterpedersen1641 Alternatively, that's a lot of first class tickets!
@@tyvandm but without the point-to-point capability of a light twin....
Very cool seeing the D-IODE mentioned here :D
over 1.5k miles from a prop plane is pretty impressive.
You surely have been living in a cave . . .
@@TRPGpilot for a light twin engine, it is….
@@TRPGpilot the pilatus pc12 only has 1.7 and that is triple the price
One of my favorites to fly on Flight Simulator ✈️
love this aircraft i fly it sometimes and its so awsome!!
looks neat, what is its radar cross-section like? also any armament?
asking for a friend~
I love it!
Nice.. still a light twin.. would prefer the king air c90 for similar missions.
Looking very nice.
Excellent
Yes - I want one. May need to upgrade my skills a touch from the mighty C152 platform.😉
Very Unique.
Can it handle a full length stretcher for carrying a person and a flight nurse?
Does it come with parachute?
If I could, I'd probably just buy it for being so beautiful.
Bravo
Does not appear to offer an option for Pressurization. Not nearly enough fuel on board so that I can fly it to Hawaii from CA.
If it doesn't have a parachute, it isn't the safest aircraft.
Wonder how many first class tickets I could buy with 2 mil 🤔
quite a few l imagine. possibly safer too. better food, more space. But when your own pilot theres nothing quite like it
Seating arrangement for 7 passengers? Maybe if they're all under 6 foot and weigh less than a hundred pounds.
Would be awesome to mod this with 2 X 800shp PT6
Nice but crazy $$$ for a piston aircraft.
No doubt it's beautiful but.... at a cost of $2,000,000 USD, and assuming a commercial jet fight ticket costing $200 USD for a short flight withing Europe, one would need to take 10,000 flights in the DA62 just to cover the cost of the aircraft alone! It's certainly food for thought...
Using a train or bus is cheaper than a car
The only safe piston twin engine and that's barely, in my opinion I think is the cessna 337. Otherwise I don't think there's really any safe piston twin.
This one is. Engine goes out you don’t have do any split second decisions. It barely feels different. Watch some real world videos about it. It’s amazing.
There are no safe airplanes, only safe pilots. Just like guns can't shoot by themselves. I will never be leery of flying any airplane that i know all there is to know about that airplane...
Know your aircraft is what i was taught.
Does it stay safe when crashed ??? Jus' askin' ...
A Cirrus is immensely safe too, it has more built-in safety features than any other aircraft....
Well....air safety is really about the actions of people than about aircraft design !
They don’t make a twin prop🤫
So glad to see this as I build cirrus aircrafts
I am flying a Cirrus…but there are so many nice islands and when travelling over water the parachute doesnt help…
A lovely looking aircraft, but as to safety, remember the old adage: 'aircraft don't crash; it is only pilots that crash'.
That's insulting to all pilots who have faught mechanical failures
Never heard that one, must be new....
Remember. The spoon is straight...
It is you who are gay....
Lemme guess....ATC?
Beautful
Beautiful
I WANT ONE !!!
On what basis it’s the safest?
Why does it have a strake on the tail?
I like the da62
Someone's never herd of the Cirrus SF 50 G2 which has not only a built in parachute that when deployed allows for the plain to land safely and softly, but has a return home safe feature that allows you to click a button allowing the plain to land itself at the nearest air port, for emergencies of course.
check the cert papers for the cirrus planes. they dont offer the chute for your safety, they couldn't pass the safety reqs without it. good luck with that.
@@jmwintenn dude I literally work at Cirrus Aircraft building their SF 50, I look at the drawings and cert papers everyday, they would've passed without it, did you know not only do we have the CAPS system and as well as the return home safe feature, but we also have this feature called IPS ( ice protection system) it's these inflatable socks that get attached to leading edge of the wings and v-tail, that inflate to remove any ice buildup, these plains are the safest plains out there, otherwise we wouldn't be building it
I love Cirrus but I also love the size of the da62. Are Cirrus similar in size. Never seen them together
@@royalgreenlantern The DA62 is slightly wider and flatter then the SF50 G2 but the SF does have a larger cabin with more space to move around, as well as an option for a lavatory
You spelt plane wrong
That is my dream plane
Looks very claustrophobic in the very back row, I’d never be able to physically get in there but otherwise is looks great
That’s where the mountain bikes go anyway
@@blackrockcity 🤙🏼
That's weird because in flight sim the DA 62 is thr aircraft I have crashed far more than other aircraft. It doesn't like flying slow and that's what they use for the Tokyo discovery tour and that is where I have crashed every time (in the Tokyo discovery tour) trying to do low, slow, high bank angle turns around buildings. It really really doesn't like to do that.
you probably can't water ski behind it either
@@PendeltonWhiskey Are you properly trimming the aircraft as you fly it? i have msfs also and i find that the da 62 needs a lot of trim in certian manouvers..
@@anthonycyr9657 I think you intended that message for someone else
@@PendeltonWhiskey did so..
Then don't do that.
I believe that the early Ercoupe is the safest airplane ever designed. The rudder is linked to the ailerons and cannot be cross controlled, hence the plane is almost impossible to stall when making that base-to-final turn. Fred Wick had the solution. Cessna destroyed it. Way to go...
Ercoupe safety record overall was not really that great.
İ wanned fly with it
Is this plane better than the Cirrus SR22T?
Not really comparable for most intended uses I would imagine. However, the SR22T is another desirable craft, that is for sure. How many kids do you have? 😀
@@deldridg I don't have any yet
@@malu1548 Well, looks like the SR22T is a better option for you! I have 2 kids, so either would be suitable. Just need to scrape together a few mil... 😀 Cheers, Dave
What good is a 6 hour endurance without a bathroom?
Good effort but you obviously don't understand any of the numbers you're reading off the spec sheat.
2 Mil is way over priced, I would take the King Air

I appreciate engineering when it comes to defying nature and such but the only safe aircraft is a parked aircraft.
Wait till we have flying cars.
Adam sandler with dread locks sitting watching this saying " you can put your weed in there"
King Air 90... half the price, faster, carries more, has a lav, and PT6 turbines, pressurized, icing. Yeah, take $1.2mm leftover and you basically almost got the operating costs covered annually in investment returns... for a much more capable plane. Oh yeah, and PT6's- about as save as they come.
Apples and oranges. You can’t compare a 50 year old KA90 to a brand new DA62. The 50 year old turbine will eat you alive in costs.
I have a thing about burning to a crisp after a crash. Diamond is the only manufacturer that seem to have spent at least 1 hour thinking about that. Having an actual tank(what a concept) between a dual spar, is enough to give them my vote. Only if I have the money to buy one.
@@yacahumax1431 be a better pilot then
@@christopherhand4836 So every pilot who died burned because the engine quit and they crash was a bad pilot? Really? So people that died driving a car without an airbag, where bad drivers? You need help.
@@yacahumax1431 lol. Go pull your chute. You need it on every flight oh and turn on your autopilot right after takeoff no go get help little boy.
Неплохая техника
The narration feels like it was read off a script, written by someone unfamiliar with airplanes, let alone General Aviation aircraft. The script was then read by someone with the same qualifications.
If im not mistaking, this thing used to cost 1.2-1.3 M. How did it get to 2 M so fast !? Also it is said that a chinese firm that makes automotive and plane parts bought 60% stock of the company. Does that means that the plane now costs more and uses chinese parts ??
This sounds like that not too badly translated Chinese owners manual that still leaves you confused.
ถ้าได้เฮลิคอปเตอร์ราคาอยู่ที่ 2 ล้านไม่เกิน 3 ล้านเหรียญนี้ก็น่าสนใจ

This price and no ballistics deployed parachute system?!
But the question is, can it do a barrelroll ????
They ALL can do a barrel roll....once!!!!
Nice aircraft. But….“The luxury SUV of the skies”!?! Umm, Pilatus PC-12 comes to mind.
"The DA-62 is sold in 2 variations" yeah. Expensive and really expensive.
I would love to see what the sales figures in Europe are between the lighter and heavier version. Once you have the $$$ necessities to buy one of these, do the higher ATC fees for the heavier aircraft really bother you? If so, are they all grounded with the explosion of diesel/JetA prices and you spent all your money on the plane and can't afford to fly it? I mean ATC/CASA fees in Australia are horrendous (and have arguably contributed to the collapse of GA in this country), but if I won the Powerball, I'd just laugh it off, as I'd laugh off the fact that here this is a AU$3million(!) aircraft.
I talked to a distributor in the UK. They’ve sold none of the lighter version, all of their sales have been of the max mtow one.
I think the lower one is only for businesses flying with one or two only looking to avoid airways fees.
@@snn689 Interesting, thanks! I believe you can get the "business seating" arrangement even for the max TOW, right? (not like I keep the price-list under my pillow for the Lotto Fairy to find it. Maybe I should? 😹) From reading posts on the Diamond forums, they're more comfortable too - so definitely the one people would choose for business flying, PR videos notwithstanding.
@@michaelhoffmann2891 as far as I’m aware the 6th and 7th seats are optional at maximum MTOW but for the reduced one they always keep the 6th and 7th seats out.
@@snn689 6th *and* 7th? I see. I had thought that they only change the 2-3-2 seating to 2-2-2. So it becomes 2-2-1?
@@michaelhoffmann2891I’d assume the 2-3-2 becomes 2-3 with the area at the back becoming loading space
Five passengers , small passenger especially in the back seats!
why not just buy a really nice king air and call it a day @ 2m there is alot of aircraft on the market
ok, I'll take two of them even though I don't Fly, I AM a professional non-flyer!! I have "Flighttrophobia!"
Very little about safety. Mostly a recitation of the specs of the plane against a background of stock footage.
Would love to see the evidence supporting the claim that it’s the world’s safest aircraft. Personally, I find that hard to believe. Maybe one of the most modern but that’s about as far as I’ll go.
Pilot error always has and probably always will account for about 80% of aviation accidents. Maybe buy a Mooney, which has the same performance as this plane with half the fuel cost, and spend the extra 1.5 million on training.
Umm... in case you hadn't noticed, the Mooney is a single engine and looks like a piece of shit
what is the flight range of this plane?
❤❤🎉
This sounds like a sales pitch.
Ok so here’s the question all 55 year old men have. For my 2 million bucks where do I get to go pee?

I think you mixed your types. You meant B747.
Reading all the acronyms is annoying... Just say the words.
My guess is no one is reading. Feels like A.I. text to speech.
Don’t like acronyms? Seriously..don’t follow aviation at all. It’s completely loaded with them!!
@@davekallaway7248 Yeah... You are a bully! Stop bullying people. If you had watched the video, the narrator says both the words AND acronyms. It is like he is reading from a script and saying everything. If he had said just the acronyms or the words, that would sound better.
Uber..not a bully at all. I’m an aviation fan. And it’s my experience that aviation is loaded..I mean loaded to the nines..with acronyms. Just pointing that out. Apologies if you thought pointing that out was bullying. I in no way shape or form meant it that way..at all. Take care.

For the price a Cirrus Jet much better option.
It's only been in production since 2014, I'll wait a few more years before I decide how safe it is.
GAE
Safety claims are based on a track record. How many hours has this plane logged?
I think one just flipped over on the ground killing the occupants
Was this a commercial?
You need more acronyms in the video to more thoroughly confuse people. Keep up the good work,.....sheesh .
Stopped watching when you pronounced 'FADEC' as Eff Aye Dee E See; it's 'Fay-Deck'. Nothing says 'I don't know what I'm talking about' more than mispronouncing a common acronym within a particular subject or industry. Also, in the 20 secs that I watched, you said this is the undoubtedly the sport utility vehicle of the sky - the DA62 is a great aircraft, but it's not comparable to an SUV. It doesn't really do dirt strips, it isn't at all made for the backcountry, and it doesn't haul much weight or cargo. So even that comparison is not apt.
Way too expensive for the mission it is supposed to fill.
A Pipistrel - Panthera burns half the gas, cost less than half the price and 180kts economical cruise is faster
Only as safe as the pilot behind the stick and his ability to not only pilot this plane but think and anticipate????🇨🇦
