Yes Ed Marino has some incredible basin specimens. I like the specimens who’s dorsal looks like a kid has drawn a big thick line down the dorsal with a nice thick piece of white chalk.
I got my first etb and its a northern and i l9ve it. I do want to get into basins at some point but honestly i like the lighter shades of green that the northerns have. If you could get the green of a northern and the pattern of a basin, it would look awesome
I have yet to get a condro but i want to down the road. I have 17 snakes and now have my first costal carpet python. My love is boas i adore the intelligence and would love to eventually finish out all my snakes in beautiful pvc setups like yours. Only half of my snakes currently have them all with raident heat panels. I got my carpet because i have a 6x4x2 foot arboreal setup zoo style enclosure. She is currently 1.5 years old and 4 foot. She is a dream to work with and im used to getting bitey rehomes and rescues. I adore watching your videos and i plan on learning as much as i can before getting one. My favorite fish tank atm is my 150 gallon clown loach tank. Ive been keeping fish for over 30 years. Snakes only 6 years, parrots 25 years and tarantulas only 1 year. Thank you again for the amazing videos and for making the cage size ideals i was under the impression they needed a 4x3x2 foot tank.
My favorite tree boa too! About your Discus, if they pick on each other you need to buy more Discus. A good school is 10-12 individuals. Love your videos btw!😊💪
“…whats the difference?” A good few geez. I’ve seen what you sell you’re basins for in morph market Gary and they were very reasonably priced compared to most I’ve seen available.
Can't you make a in depth video about emeralds, like you did with chondros in 3 sizes. Feeding size, schedule, defacation, and what do you do to secure good defacation
Always gotta have a backup tank ready when you have discus. It's pretty inevitable that at least one, if not more, get picked on to the point of serious illness if you don't remove the one getting beaten up. Of course some squabbling is normal, though. I've got no idea about adding more discus to an already established group or how that would affect the dynamic. But things do usually calm down (aside from the normal squabbling) after removing the one or two that are getting beaten up.
Thanks Virginia! I did set up a 46 gallon back up tank, but the problem? Catching the discus out of main main tank to transfer them! LOL Total nightmare! Thanks for watching!
Looking to get my 1st ETB at some point. I assumed you were paying a little more for the Basin with hopefully little better temperament. When taking out any of them on their perch for cleaning, etc (obv assuming daytime) do you ever have them come off the perch where you have to physically handle to get them back on it etc? Great video!
Just remove the perch, ETB are not made to be handled. They don't enjoy it "by default". They will come to you if they want. My Amazon Basins are quiet and curious, if they wanna cruise on your arm they will, if they don't want they'll stay on their perch. Just let them choose ;-)
What Fred said! :) Temperament plays no role in my emerald selection process, and I never (like never) handle them. Great questions though, and thanks so much for watching!
Can you feed a 7 footer jumbo rats ? Im ball python owner myself i know for sure they eat jumbos but balls are shorter then these both as adults . And also know that black rat snakes , eastern indigos snakes , rainbow boas,,bullsnakes all eat jumbo rats also . Also wondering sence they love birds in trees so much will it eat full grown pigeon? Can you give them adult chemelons, tokays , skinks , bearded dragons lizard ?
Great video as usual there. Thanks for all the effort you put in. One thing we all would like to hear from you though, what is the current price on Northerns and Basins? We often see the odd postings asking near Boelen's prices and sometimes nearer Rough Scaled Python prices. According to your estimations what are the two current actually valued at? I guess I've been very lucky with our Biak GTP... He's extremely docile and were able to get him out both day and night and handle him with zero issues, even though it's not very often that we try to handle him. However, We always read his body language and on those few occasions that he doesn't want to come out he will let us know without striking that he wants to be left alone. But that's on a very rare occasion that he does that. He's absolutely amazing... Now on the other hand my spider ball python He has a green tree python complex... And he will strike just to strike at you.
ok i actually know about fish im here learning all i can about emrald tree boas but on your fish issue... watch the fins, whiskers, ect... make sure they arent actually damaging them. long as they arent taking nibbles off fins and wiskers, let them be for a while see if thet will get used to eachother. If they need more time to get used to eachother without being able to pick fins and whiskers, ect... there are, or atleast i USED to be able to get tank divider net panels or i would make them but that was a LONG time ago. Either way, you can always make a tank divider net. I would personally hesitate on adding more though. Atleast till they have just a bit more time to settle. but schooling fish do generally need atleast 3 and i did best with 5 of that species to start off my schools. so be sure you have atleast 3 to 5 of that species for your schooling fish. Fish, like most animals, definitely all have their own personalities and quirks. Some individuals are more nippy, some more aggressive, some more dominant, some more just chill or laid back... often you can see these traits more distinctly in fish that arent real tiny but if you watch them a whole lot you can see it in even tiny fish lol!
